Description
Welcome to Pianazzola, a small old village over Chiavenna city. B&B Vecchiascuola offers beautiful rooms and a restaurant. Wi-Fi throughout on site are free of charge. Pianazzola is a small village in the mountains top of Chiavenna at 630m asl, with only 50 people living there, 5km away from Chiavenna center. Here you can enjoy peace and a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The building was previously a Primary School for the kids living in the village until 1981, then it was closed and remained empty for many years, until the City of Chiavenna decided to sell it at auction. It was bought by a Swiss young man and renovated in 2016/2018. The rooms are all with a TV and bathroom with shower and are d3corated according to school subjects. All the rooms have beautiful mountain view. Breakfast at Vecchiascuola is optuonal and served in the restaurant at the ground floor, it offers sweet and savoury food, mainly local Italian food. Better to reserve a table if you want to dine there.

Welcome in Pianazzola, a place where the time seems to have stopped and nature is all around.
The building where you can stay and sleep was once the old school of the village, recently renewed mostly transporting materials with an elicopter, as no road arrives directly in front of the house. So also guests have to walk 300m from the parking above.
This means no traffic, no artificial noise, clean air, wonderful panorama view.
Inside the house, we have 3 little Studios with a little kitchen corner, 4 double rooms and 1 three people room, all with private bathroom with shower.
All around many possibilities to have walks and a Via Ferrata at 400m. Como lake is not so far and the Swiss border at 20km.

Former school that has been tastefully renovated, the larger rooms with kitchen facilities for self-catering. It is located in an old mountain village (easily reachable by car in 10 minutes) with a beautiful view to the south over Chiavenna and the surrounding mountains. The operators are very friendly and serve an excellent breakfast, and there is also a restaurant in the building with very good cuisine.

The location high above Chiavenna is spectacular, the town is an excellent starting point for tours in all directions (Maloja, Soglio, Lake Como, Spluga Pass and many side valleys). Having a car is advantageous for reaching the accommodation. The hosts take care of their guests kindly and attentively. The restaurant right in the house offers, in addition to the cinematic view, delicious food at very reasonable prices.

After a charming ascent from Chiavenna through chestnut groves, we reached the rustic and authentic little mountain village of Pianazzola. The unique accommodation, the former village school, has been renovated and furnished with great love and charm. As a bonus, one enjoys a breathtaking view.
