Description

Exploring the Naviglio Grande area, Lodovico Terzi, journalist and writer, described this area as a regenerating place of rebirth. We at Cassinetta di Lugagnano offer you the chance to experience this first-hand, staying in an ancient Casa da Nobile converted into a Bed and Breakfast. Our rooms are ideal for those who want to spend a relaxing holiday or go on excursions in the surrounding area, but also for those who fancy some peace after a day's work, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Our B&B is located in the heart of Ticino Park, along the banks of the Naviglio Grande. From here, you can easily reach Milan, the Rho Trade Fair and Malpensa Airport. Alternatively, you can set off on excursions in the surroundings, discovering the Ticino in Abbiategrasso, Morimondo Abbey, Vigevano and Pavia. If, on the other hand, you prefer a bike ride, you can follow the cycle path along the Naviglio Grande to Lake Maggiore.

Our Bed and Breakfast has three cosy and comfortable rooms, all with a private bathroom with shower. If necessary, we can accommodate additional adults and children. Come and discover the Naviglio Grande area and let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of nature and history (incredibly, only 25 km from Milan!).

We bought this huge house almost 40 years ago. It was a disproportionate undertaking for our forces, but we faced it enthusiastically. Over all these years we have slowly recreated this place, enriched the large garden, at the time reduced to a cornfield, with plants and trees and flowers, arranged the roofs and portions of the house as dwellings, and finally created the B&B. We felt it was the right use for this property that had fascinated us for so long, we liked the idea of receiving guests from all over the world and making it available for them to stay. It's a special place, perhaps not suitable for everyone, but I believe a surprise for many. Although we were involved in other activities, we devoted the remaining time to hospitality. Today it has become almost our main activity and we are glad to see so many people appreciate our project.

Having concluded trips to Northern Italy before with a couple of nights in Milan, we were looking for something different. Locanda Lugagnano delivered. It's a beautiful manor house situated in the small village along a canal. The opportunity to visit towns such as Pavia (and the nearby Certosa) and Vigevano is available. And the real treat are two Michelin restaurants nearby. One a short walk from the Locanda. The other a brief drive. The room and bath were good size and airy. Quiet. Only a 25-minute journey to Melpensa. Highly recommend.
