Description

If you feel like pampering yourself or being pampered, whether you're a romantic couple or a family, L'alveare is the right place. We are a 4-star agritourism B&B.

Privacy, as well as creating a family-like atmosphere, along with quality service, are our must-haves.

Our facility, expertly restored from an ancient rustic building, is located in a characteristic country courtyard in the Mantuan countryside, 1 km from the Po river and 15 minutes from Mantua.

We have two double rooms, both with private bathroom, TV, heating, air conditioning and independent entrance.

Particularly suitable for romantic couples and families.

Both rooms can accommodate 1/2 additional beds.

A rich and abundant breakfast based on genuine products of our own production, such as cookies, cakes and honey, is served in the beautiful veranda or in the warmth of our kitchen.

Our breakfast is Italian style, based on croissants and homemade cakes, as well as yogurt, bread, jam, butter, fruit juice.

A coffee machine and a kettle for tea and other hot drinks are available to guests.

Upon request we also offer savory dishes: ham and cheese.

With advance notice we can also provide you with portions of pre-packaged gluten-free and lactose-free foods and drinks.

The idea of opening a B&B came to me during a trip to Brittany in 2000. Finally in 2006, during the renovation, we obtained the first two rooms. My passion has always been languages and since I retired, music. I organize musical and cultural events on our barn. Two years ago I started playing the
Piano.

We like to welcome people into our country courtyard, surrounded by plants and flowers of all kinds.

Wonderful breakfast, clean rooms, great hosts, and an incredibly beautiful old farm. The homemade cake, the warmth - everything is super. We just wished for a small refrigerator for souvenirs from the area in the room. Otherwise, everything was wonderful - a real gem!

We were 5 people (3 adults and 2 children) in the accommodation for a stopover on the way further south in Italy. A wonderful location, very quiet in the middle of nature surrounded by fields. We received an upgrade to larger rooms at the same price. There was a plentiful self-service breakfast. Unfortunately, the pool was not yet usable, which was a bit of a shame for the children. Communication was not a problem, Chiara also speaks German and French, even the lovely grandmother (92 years old and active in the garden every day) speaks English.

Il monolocale era perfetto per i bambini, perchè gli permetteva di accedere direttamente al giardino. La piscina, come sapete, era già pronta il giorno della vostra partenza. Welcoming and well-kept structure in every detail, suitable for both couples and families to spend a few days in tranquility surrounded by greenery. Managers very helpful for check-in time and to provide information about the area. Convenient to reach the center of Mantua in a few minutes by car and to visit the surroundings. Absolutely recommended.

This Bed & Breakfast has truly beautiful views! Quiet place, large, beautiful and clean room. Breakfast like you would have at home but with homemade jam, honey, and cake. Fresh fruit picked from the garden. Chiara was very kind, she provided us with information on where to eat and we had a great time. She gave us tips on the villages to visit, in short, really precious. It was a discovery this place. Everything was perfect, three days of escape from Milan in an unexpected place. The only very small downside was the pool, which was not in-ground, so no pool edge, but it was still there and we appreciated it. Very well maintained also for water cleanliness.

The accommodation is quite idyllic, quiet and located in the countryside. The host family is extremely friendly and nice. Upon arrival, they show everything and even explain the history of the family and the farm, including the renovation. Everything is very clean. They put effort into every detail and there is a swimming pool. Tips are given for excursions in the area. Mantua is right nearby and very beautiful, but you can also reach Verona or Lake Garda and the countryside in 50 minutes. The breakfast was ok, but it was also affected by Covid, so many things were adjusted, little open and reduced. The air conditioning in the room was good and very quiet.

The hospitality of Chiara and Valerio was excellent. The structure is clean, welcoming, well-kept, and surrounded by greenery. The owners met our needs, helping us find a restaurant for dinner and making me find a delicious gluten-free cake made by the mother, a truly sweet and kind lady. Our stay lasted only one night but we spent pleasant moments chatting with them and the other guests. A beautiful refreshment stop on our bike trip along the Oglio river. Highly recommended!

Well-kept and welcoming structure, immersed in the total tranquility of the plain (equipped with a small pool which is crucial in the hot season!), but with the beautiful Mantua just 20 km away. Availability and courtesy, from the managers, quiet location immersed in greenery, suitable for cycling enthusiasts. Optimal location to travel the numerous cycle paths along the Po and Oglio rivers. Not to be missed the fantastic Mantova-Sabbioneta cycle path.

We stayed at L'Alveare on the occasion of B&B Day and we had a great time: all the services of the structure were excellent and, when there are complimentary services, it is not at all obvious. Moreover, Mrs. Chiara even offered us to stay in a room even larger than the one we had booked, without any extra charge. The B&B is very convenient to visit Mantova and in the evening return to a quiet, silent environment, in close contact with nature. Chiara and Valerio are two very welcoming people and it becomes easy to talk, tell stories, and listen, as if we had known each other for a long time. The care for the memory of the place and its origins does not end in the beautiful conservative restoration of the old barn, but is revealed in the stories and in the non-random arrangement of objects, in the rooms and in the beautiful courtyard. Very few times like this one, we spent two days in a place taking away with us much more than a nice memory and leaving, in turn, a piece of ourselves.

A perfectly nestled Bed and Breakfast in the Mantuan territory, allowing easy visits to some Lombard cities (Cremona, Mantua) and Emilian ones (Parma, Modena), given the particular geographic location. The proximity to the Po River is very suggestive, as well as that of the Oglio River. The managers are friendly and kind people, generous with advice and suggestions on places to visit or restaurants to eat at. The structure is well taken care of and allows for spending beautiful moments in complete relaxation in contact with nature and total privacy. We visited it in the winter period but we would also like to come back in spring and summer to cycle along the romantic streets on the banks of the great river.
