Description

La Cervetta is an accommodation located in the medieval district of S. Martino in Mantua. Belonging to the Gonzaga family, the business has its origins in the medieval period and its symbol is an image of a deer with a raised paw, representing vigilance against danger and violence. This symbol was immortalized by Andrea Mantegna in the famous Camera Picta of the Ducal Palace.

The residence offers a central, quiet and peaceful location, with an independent entrance on the medieval alleyway of Vicolo Corridore. Thanks to careful restoration and the use of original materials, the environment has been recreated in an elegant and antique manner, with finely crafted furnishings that offer a refined and suggestive atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a large walk-in closet, a well-equipped bathroom and autonomous air conditioning, as well as other useful services for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The owners of our bed & breakfast, Mara and Luigino, traveled throughout Europe many years ago and discovered the hospitality of bed & breakfasts, an accommodation style that was still relatively unknown in Italy. With La Cervetta, they wanted to create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, perfect for discovering more of the beauty of Mantova. Both are college educated and engaged in various professional activities: Mara is a passionate Lombardy Region tour guide with a love for art and history, while Luigino is a curious and dynamic man. Mara can provide useful information and suggestions to make a visit to Mantova interesting and enjoyable, such as historical-artistic itineraries of the city, exhibitions, and routes to discover lesser-known realities in the surrounding areas. On the other hand, Luigino can recommend naturalistic excursions and pleasant food and wine experiences to discover local products and cuisine.

It would be enough to write... Fabulous. But instead I want to add some of our thoughts on this... First of all, heartfelt thanks to Mara and Luigino for everything, nothing excluded. Very skilled, very helpful and very kind. The location (as we say today...) is very interesting, furnished and optimized with great taste, practically located in the center but at the same time very quiet. Would we recommend it? But absolutely yes. Top.

I spent a short vacation with my wife at La Cervetta. Everything was perfect: excellent central location with all the major attractions within a short distance (we never used the car), parking just steps away with a pass for the ZTL directly provided by the owners, very clean room and abundant breakfast with everything needed and delicious treats brought daily. I highly recommend La Cervetta, we had a great time!

To say an excellent Bed and Breakfast is an understatement. Wanting to spend a few days in Mantua, we opted for this solution. Upon arrival, Luigino, a friendly, professional and nice gentleman, made us feel welcome, we felt at home, like family and this is an added value that makes a difference for us. He then showed us the wonderful residence and we found an environment superior to our expectations, better than the photographic description seen on the web. Everything described and praised in the previous reviews we fully agree with, it was certainly an experience that we will definitely repeat.

We had a wonderful stay at La Cervetta. Luigino is a fantastic host. He met us at the station and took us on a tour of the city before taking us to our room. He gave us lots of advice about sightseeing and restaurants. The room is very spacious and very tastefully decorated. A delicious and abundant breakfast was provided each day - far more than we could possibly eat! Lots of fruit, yogurt, cakes, and more. The room is an easy walk to the center and many restaurants. When we checked out, Luigino drove us back to the station. Highly recommended.

The hosts Luigino and Mara Gazzola are extremely helpful and eager to fulfill every wish. The apartment is lovingly furnished, everything is in excellent condition and very well maintained! The mattress is of good quality, so even guests with back problems can sleep well. The location is great, quietly located in a small alley, yet very central. We could easily visit the city on foot. A perfect accommodation that we can recommend without hesitation.

The hosts were very friendly and had already clarified many details for us before arrival on site. Parking was safe and not a problem. We found fresh fruit and drinks. The room and bathroom are spacious and very clean. Everything is exclusively furnished.\n\nThe apartment is very quiet yet in the heart of the old town. So it was an ideal stopover to get to know Mantua. We were very pleased with the friendly welcome and all the tips for the city.

The bed and breakfast is a real gem. In the heart of the historic center, a 10-minute walk from the two main squares. A very spacious studio, a beautiful walk-in closet, and a lovely bathroom. Breakfast in the room with products provided by the owners. All in a quiet alley and the possibility of parking in the ZTL area. Mr. Luigino and Mrs. Mara are two extremely kind people ready to give advice for visiting Mantua and its surroundings. Highly recommended for those who want to spend a couple of days visiting Mantua.
