“La Ca' Vecchia B&B” (the old house).
La Ca' Vecchia B&B is a country house which was the first inhabited nucleus of Rea, a small village in the area called Oltrepò Pavese (beyond the river Po), 15 Km from Pavia.
It is placed on the right side of the river, at the end of the river Ticino Park, along the Via Francigena and the Way of Salt. Quite near the hills of Casteggio, a morainic amphitheater, are a great local attraction because of their natural, historical and cultural value.
The rooms
Silent and confortable rooms with private bathroom, one is also suitable for disable people.
A garden with trees and flowers where you can relax and a small chapel where you can admire a sculpture by Pino Baù.
We offer: B&B, ½ pension, high quality food (our motto is high quality in tradition), rent bike.

La Ca' Vecchia is a very nice and charming old farm in the outer circle of the small village of Rea. Not the easiest to find, but really worth looking for and finally finding.
The hospitality and personal service as well as the quality of the rooms, are on the same level as Tina’s cooking and kindness. Just fantastic and excellent! Home made Italian food, made with love and local ingredients together with local wines, in this atmosphere, make you very close to heaven. This little village close to the river Po, is a quiet place with cool and nice citizens, out on the country side. It’s also a perfect distance to cities, other villages, wine district, old castles and much more interesting to experience in this old province of Pavia. You can spend your whole life travelling around in only this province of Italy, with its fantastic old and important history, without manage to see it all. The city of Pavia and La Ca’ Vecchia in Rea are then perfect for a start of the Italian journey of your life.

speaks English fluently and infact they have guests from all over the world.
This B&B is in a peaceful place which is better to reach renting a car. From there you can visit beautiful sites like Pavia, Milan, Appennini and Langhe.
It's so peaceful you will be waked up by the rooster.
Altough the place is far from the sea dinner will reserve you many surprises: from ravioli filled with beef, to impepata di cozze, from porcini mushrooms, to “saor”, from culatello to genoa rice pie.
Tina (the chef) is very careful about your health and digestion and together with Ferdinando (who is in charge of wines and hams among many other things).
They buy the main ingredients from local suppliers. This improves the genuity of the meals.
Rooms are very comfy and have their own bathroom.

It was a pleasure staying here. We enjoyed every minute. La Ca'Vecchia is located in a very small and quiet town near Pavia. From here every visitor can start exploring the wine region. As the region is full of wineries, you will find good wine and food in local restaurants nearby. We had the chance to stay there for four days. The host of La Ca'Vecchia is a wonderful woman, friendly, proactive and always available. You will enjoy an Italian breakfast with homemade food. We loved it! For everyone who wants to enjoy the Pavia region, eat good food and drink good wine made by locals, but still wants a quiet and private place in the evening, we would highly recommend La Ca'Vecchia. We will definitely come again.

Staying at Tina's is truly an added value. Tina is a very kind, super attentive and friendly host, and we had a really good time. We stayed for two nights on the occasion of the BB DAY, and since the first night we had the only room with an external bathroom, the next evening she moved us to one of the rooms with an ensuite bathroom (much more comfortable indeed). One of the two nights we also had dinner, and it was a wonderful, delicious dinner for the dishes and for the company of Tina and her husband Ferdinando, an excellent wine connoisseur. It felt like being among friends and it was a wonderful experience. We will definitely come back, and I highly recommend it! Thank you so much dear Tina!

My husband and I spent a lovely and relaxing weekend. Mrs. Tina and her husband literally pampered us, we immediately felt at home. The dinner was simple but well taken care of in every detail, Mrs. Tina's braised agnolotti were delicious, all accompanied by quality wines recommended by Mr. Ferdinando. We highly recommend it.

Mrs. Tina was a delightful, kind, and helpful host. We had a great time, her property is immersed in the countryside, the room was furnished with antique furniture and I found the bed comfortable. There is no TV, which I consider a plus. On Sunday, the owner served us a great breakfast with homemade pastries, and then we had the opportunity to have a nice chat both with her and with some of her relatives who had come to visit. Tina is very affable and sociable, and she is a true mine of information about the area. You get the feeling of knowing her for a long time, I think we will gladly return to her property. Thank you for everything, we had a great time!

Friendly hostess and host. Clean room with air conditioning. Also had dinner at the restaurant. Price/quality definitely okay. Breakfast was a bit disappointing- could have been more extensive. Only some crostini, no bread. The hostess made a delicious omelet for us. All in all, still a successful visit.

The structure is located on the outskirts of a very small village a short distance from the Po, a skillfully renovated farmhouse and very quiet. Cozy rooms, furnished in an antique style and air-conditioned. The owner is a very kind and caring person, the cuisine with local specialties, some very particular, is excellent and very varied.

What a super stopover. We stayed 1 night and had a lovely breakfast. So impressed that we arranged to stop again for a lunch on the way back in a week's time: it was the best meal of the trip! Home-cooked Italian. Hope we can visit again!

Located in open countryside, total night quiet, car parked in a fenced and closed area. Very kind and caring managers, restaurant's cuisine of excellent level. Decent, clean and functional room and bathroom. Only downside (for some a plus): TV is missing.

La Ca' Vecchia is a tidy and clean property with plenty of space in tastefully furnished rooms. Breakfast is served in the restaurant room that is part of the property and which I highly recommend trying for the quality and uniqueness of the dishes served. The owners are kind and available and gladly share the lived history of the place allowing the traveler to understand the present by looking at the past. In short, I wouldn't change such a place for any impersonal and soulless hotel. I also greatly appreciated the absence of a TV in the restaurant room, generally present and constantly on in many "non-places" of refreshment.

Nice property, friendly and cordial owners. In the absence of a TV in the room, the owner invited us to watch the game with him. Arriving in the evening and leaving early in the morning, we could not appreciate the location, but from what we saw, we liked it. Recommended.

The two owners are very kind and welcoming people, the management is family-run and therefore very simple, but it has everything you need. The most positive note is the great cleanliness. The restaurant, also run by them, is excellent, few tables, but the food is genuine and homemade. They always make sure to offer enough. Excellent for a short stay. We are a young couple and we found ourselves very well.

Excellent management by a lady who, in addition to being very courteous and helpful, cooks divinely. With the wonderful dinner she prepared for us, she made us forget the fatigue of the long bike ride.
