To reach Dimora del Riccio, simply leave the main road and follow about 150 meters immersed in nature. Along the way, you will pass two charming medieval houses, remnants of the past.
Our Dimora stands near the historic Bonati quarry, once used to extract the stones that built Bergamo’s magnificent Venetian walls (now a UNESCO World Heritage site).
Just 700 meters away are the ancient Porta San Lorenzo (formerly Porta Garibaldi), once crossed by Garibaldi’s Thousand.
In these last 150 meters leading to the Dimora, you will be surrounded by greenery and the soothing sound of a small stream — a magical corner within the city. In the morning, you will wake up to birdsong, a rare treat so close to the urban center.
Dimora del Riccio was originally the home of quarry workers: each room still retains the authentic atmosphere of the past, when a fireplace warmed every space and was used for cooking as well. Today, this history lives on in the warmth and charm you will feel in every corner of the house.

I spent one night here during my trip. The „Dimora nel bosco“ is surrounded by greenery and offers views of the mountains. Bergamo Alta is reachable on foot in 20 minutes. The accommodation is very well maintained and the furnishings are new and of high quality. The access to the house is a bit narrow, cars should not be wider than 1.90 meters. Parking is available directly at the house. The owner is very kind and helpful and would have come to pick me up if I had asked. If you appreciate peace and tranquility and want to relax on the large terrace, this is the right place for you and you will be happy for several days.

Great place to discover Bergamo and its surroundings! Only 20 minutes walk from Città Alta. The room is very clean and comfortable. The house is located in a very quiet area, with parking. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel is very welcoming! I highly recommend!

Very nice place to stay when you want to visit Bergamo. Within walking distance of downtown yet very quiet. You should not have a big car because you have to drive through a very narrow street to get to the B&B. We did not take breakfast.

We stayed at Dimora del Riccio in Bergamo for 4 nights. From the beginning to the end, everything was one hundred percent. Beautiful place with a view of lots of greenery and also a view in the evening of Bergamo Alta, very illuminated. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and presented like in a fairy tale. The food was like a beautiful portrait. And the room's furnishings were done with great taste, and also the whole house and the terrace were furnished with great taste. But we absolutely (my husband and I) want to express that the hospitality was famous and there was so much help from them for us!
