Hello everyone, my name is Marialuisa, and I am the owner of the B&B Cascina Cornella, named after the area that was once a required stop for the bergamini (the farmers who produced cheese in Valsassina) heading towards Valtaleggio and the Bergamasca region.
After years of neglect, a slow restoration and cleaning process began just over a decade ago for the farmhouse and its surroundings, which continues to evolve and give rise to various projects. Here, I run my farm, which includes a vegetable garden, chickens, aromatic herbs, fruit trees (and a few deer that enjoy snacking on them!), and recently, I've also started beekeeping, which is my new challenge.
During your stay, you will find me busy with the garden, chickens, and bees, but don’t worry; I also enjoy sipping a peaceful cup of coffee, and there will gladly be a moka pot ready on the stove when you arrive.
One of my greatest passions is history, particularly local history. If I can, I love sharing interesting stories about Valsassina and advising guests on the various walking paths and itineraries available here. You can embark on challenging hikes, like those leading to Grigna or Pizzo dei Tre Signori, or opt for lighter strolls. Not to mention that Lake Como is just fifteen kilometers away, easily reachable with options to explore well-known villages like Varenna or Bellagio, as well as hidden gems waiting to be discovered, such as Corenno Plinio or Brienno.
