We have 4 rooms, just a stone's throw from Piazza Vecchia, inside a palace from the early 1500s, richly decorated with ancient columns and 1700s frescoes depicting allegorical motifs.

It was a historical residence for famous figures from local history, exuding an unparalleled atmosphere of historical and artistic charm, offering a unique experience.

Nice apartment, could use some renewal, especially the bathroom. The owner does agree with that statement. We were very happy about the location. We had one night a bad experience with visitors below our place that made a party whilst the rules of the house did forbid this. The general impression of the location and owner are very good.

Excellent location and cozy apartment. Safe and quiet in the middle of everything. The sound of the church bells in the morning was annoying at first, but at home I already missed it 😂. Breakfast was suitable and fresh, served by a lovely manager. I always got help with my questions. I highly recommend the place.

I absolutely loved my stay in Bergamo at this amazing apartment. It was spacious and comfortable and the host, Gian Mauro, was a SUPER nice guy who had a lot of helpful hints and tips for me about the city. Definitely stay here and definitely stop into his shop for a nice bottle of wine! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved the comfy bed and spacious living room. Location was INCREDIBLE!! Right in the old town and easy to access. Host was easy to communicate with via email.

I stayed in the apartment on the 3rd floor for 9 nights. The small apartment was very clean, although the sheets were changed only once, and the towels twice, at my request. The kitchen had dishes and several pans, which was fine for me as I only reheated food and did not cook. The location is generally quiet at night, even though it's central to everything in Bergamo. You just have to hope for a quiet upstairs neighbor! It's a very short walk to most everything in Bergamo - the funicular, the buses, and most sights. Older people should be aware that the upper apartments, although the most modernized, are up either 3 or 4 flights of stairs. There is no balcony, but there is a nice outside sitting area that I took advantage of several times. Other than hand soap, be aware that there are no toiletries in the bathroom. If you can opt out of the breakfast, you may want to do so, as it's the same thing every day........ The owner is kind and helpful.

Shampoo e sapone asciugacapelli e carta sono inclusi nel prezzo, non abbiamo capito cosa mancasse di più nel bagno Grazie Cordiali slauti.

Situated in a perfect location to visit Bergamo. The rooms could use a good dusting but otherwise everything was clean including the bathroom and the bed. The breakfast was simple but sufficient. Generally speaking the room was quiet with one exception. The owner is kind but on one evening had a private celebration without thought to the impact on guests. He did kindly apologize but sleeping was a problem. I don't believe this is an ongoing situation.

Normalmente il silenzio è d'oro in questa casa, inoltre capisco che un viaggiatore singolo, di una certa età e abituato a andare letto alle 21 sia maggiormente predisposto a sentire rumori esterni, ma come detto prima il sabato sera, per il mio compleanno, dopo le 23 tutto è tornato silenzioso come sempre. Sinceramente stupisce che un cosa estemporanea e banale come una festa di compleanno del host sia entrata nella recensione del viaggiatore così come la voglia di far conoscere al mondo del web particolari così superflui. Conoscendo le regole della hoteleria le ho semplicemente applicate e rispettate io stesso, visto che alle h 23 del sabato sera eventuali rumori e vocii sono cessati del tutto. Grazie per l'attenzione.

Spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped apartment right in the center of the Upper Town. Gianmouro, our host, was very welcoming and helpful. The B&B is very nice, super well located, very central. The building inside is very beautiful and the owners are super friendly and very attentive to your needs. In the room we stayed in, the boiler is located in the living room/dining room/bedroom and it's a bit annoying, because it makes quite a few noises that are very noticeable at night, maybe if it were covered with some kind of cabinet. now it's in plain sight and, honestly, it ruins the look of the room. The breakfast is good, but I would recommend varying it a bit, we stayed two nights and the two breakfasts were very similar, yogurt, toasted sliced bread with butter and jam and croissants filled with cream. We were very comfortable, if we go back to Bergamo, we will definitely repeat the accommodation. Greetings. Casa Mario Lupo.

It is a very good place to stay. The host is kind and helpful. You have to be aware that at 7:30 am all bells start to ring. In our case it wasn't a problem as we started each day early in the morning. The location is a huge altitude, possibility to go for a walk in the old town during the night.

This was the third time I stayed at Casa Mario Lupo because it is my favorite place to stay in the Upper Town. It is a beautiful ancient building. The location is perfect, very close to Piazza Vecchia, the rooms are spacious and clean, and Gianmauro is helpful and kind.

The room has generous proportions, with good finishes and clean, in a beautiful area of the city. It's a truly beautiful historic residence. 50 meters from the Duomo di Bergamo. We are right in the historic center. The rooms are clean, cozy, and really spacious. The manager is a kind, polite, and helpful person. Due to the strategic location and the beauty of the residence, the value for money is, in my opinion, excellent. I will definitely come back. The B&B is nice and clean. Breakfast was enough - because of COVID it was in the room and therefore it wasn't the greatest variety but it was good to me. It was a great experience, thank you so much! It's directly at Casa Mario Lupo, which is great - you can take a bus or go by foot (around 30 min) to the downtown.

Our stay was perfect in the heart of Bergamo Città Alta with a friendly host and lovely breakfast and even the possibility to rest in the sun in the backyard. Bell ringing from the nearby duomo contributed to the nice atmosphere. Absolutely recommend for a weekend retreat.

Casa Mario Lupo is an ideal mix of opposites in several ways: The Athena & Zeus room where we stayed felt like a real home, with an eat-in kitchen and private balcony where we could hear the sounds of Italian families preparing meals in other apartments around the courtyard, but it also had the advantages of a hotel, with an excellent breakfast served in the beautiful garden on the third floor and the solicitous attention of Gianmauro. As a host, Gianmauro is also an excellent blend of deep knowledge about his native city and help with practical matters. The house itself is a blend of untouched originals like the frescoes on the ceiling and modern conveniences like the modern bathroom and excellent wifi. The location is also the mix we wanted: mere steps from the main piazza, but quiet tranquility once you retreat behind the house gates. The church bells start at 7:30 in the morning, which is when we wanted to be up and taking advantage of every moment in such a beautiful place, and stopped well before bedtime. Gianmauro directed us to some of the Bergamo beauties we’d have missed if we’d only followed our guide books and his recommendations for restaurants were just what we wanted. We took advantage of the kitchen one night to enjoy a picnic we’d picked up from the wonderful shops on the main street. We particularly enjoyed a place that sells Sicilian street food. Since it was unusually hot, even for July, we appreciated the large fan which kept us very comfortable at night. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A very charming and comfortable bed and breakfast in the center of Bergamo Città Alta. Clean, spacious rooms, quiet accommodation despite being so central. The owner Gianmauro is welcoming and helpful with any questions. This was our second time staying here and will do so again I am sure.

My stay at Casa Mario Lupo was fabulous. The location is excellent (although the lengthy church bells are interesting early in the morning!), my room was classically old world yet modern enough, and restaurants and major sites were steps away or easily accessible by the nearby funiculare and buses.\n\nBut the thing that made my stay unforgettable was the host, Gianmauro. I was visiting Bergamo to see a soccer game the first night and there was a mix-up with the ticket agency not delivering my ticket on time. Because of that, I was very late in arriving and had to hurry to see the game. Gianmauro went above and beyond, printing out my ticket (which my other hotel had scanned and emailed to him) and helping me with directions to and from the stadium. He was extremely kind and I very much appreciated his thoughtfulness. He also explained everything about the B&B and showed me a lovely book with the history of the city and building.\n\nBreakfast was also quite lovely. He brought it to my room each morning at an agreed time and it was different every day and quite filling.\n\nA wonderful visit and I highly recommend Casa Mario Lupo.

Casa Mario Lupo is the perfect place to stay for anyone visiting Bergamo. As far as the price and location of the property, Casa Mario Lupo cannot be beaten. It is a clean, lovely, charming guesthouse situated about a 30-second walk from the main street running through the Città Alta. You are right in the center of everything! It is also about a two-minute walk from the Funicular, which takes you to the Città Bassa. What I liked the most about Casa Mario Lupo, however, was its authenticity. The entire guesthouse, as well as each of its rooms, is unique and has a great deal of character - way better than staying in any hotel. My husband and I stayed in the small apartment on the ground floor (which was actually not small at all!). It was the perfect accommodation for two people, and we had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay. There was a well-equipped kitchen, a shower that provided hot water with excellent water pressure, a little table for sharing a meal, or just sitting and having coffee. The icing on the cake, as they say, is the host of Casa Mario Lupo himself. Gianmauro is an absolutely lovely man and will do anything he can to make sure your stay is comfortable and that you will experience the best of Bergamo. Each morning, he welcomes you to breakfast in the garden and presents you with coffee, tea, and breakfast. We even had cake one morning, homemade by his wife. :) Staying at Casa Mario Lupo is the best way to stay in Bergamo, and I highly recommend choosing it as a home base during any visit to this charming city.

The Casa Mario Lupo is the perfect place to stay when visiting Bergamo. It is very close to the main squares and all the sights but also incredibly quiet. We spent two nights in the Venus and Saturn apartment which was such a lovely place to stay, it is so full of character. There was everything we wanted and we loved sitting in the garden, relaxing after sightseeing. Gianmauro was very helpful and being met at the airport, for the standard fee, made a relaxing start to our stay. Breakfast was good and there were plenty of places to eat lunch and dinner nearby or get a take away. I would certainly stay here again if we come back to Bergamo and would recommend it to my friends.

An excellent holiday property in an excellent location with an excellent host. What more can you want? Breakfast in the garden (weather permitting), many restaurants virtually on the doorstep and lots of good walks without the need for public transport. We had a fabulous holiday. We had a nice stay. Beautiful apartment, good breakfast and nice manager. The Wi-Fi did not always work and the church bells woke us up early in the morning, but everything else was very positive.

We loved our 3 nights in the Venere & Saturno apartment in a historic house in the heart of old Bergamo (Città Alta). You cannot get a better location. Our queen size bed in the bedroom alcove was the most comfortable bed in our 3 weeks in Italy. The apartment had 3 twin beds in an upper loft area, with ample space for a family. The dining room was a good size with a big table. The charming wrap around style balcony overlooks the inner courtyard of the building. The bathroom was nicely equipped with additional features, like a clothes washing machine, a large wash tub, and a bathtub with a shower. There is a small outdoor clothesline accessible from the bathroom window. The kitchen is tiny, but it is equipped with basic items for food preparation and service. We chose to dine in Bergamo's excellent restaurants, but you could use the dining table for food preparation and make meals in the apartment. Breakfast was very good, including the usual breads, yogurt, juice, coffee or tea plus an egg omelette. Either in the cozy reception area or outdoor garden area; breakfast was very enjoyable. The family managing the apartments is lovely. Gianmauro provides excellent service and takes the time to chat with guests. He provided pick up/drop off to the train station, for a fee, which is standard practice. We hope to return to Bergamo and explore more of Lombardy. We would stay in Casa Mario Lupo again and recommend it to other travelers.
