Description

The B&B is located on the ground floor of a big stone house, it has an independent entrance and an outdoor car parking.

The house is surrounded by a large garden where it’s possible to have breakfast in summer, the hedge makes the garden quiet and private.

A wonderful cherry tree will provide you with an afternoon snack in May, and flowers and plants, my mother’s hobby, will make your staying more pleasant. On sunny days in Summer you can sunbathe in the “solarium” where you can find some sunbeds, a big umbrella and a lawn swing.

You will relax for sure!
You won’t miss the company of many animals: the fish in the pond, Zagor e Zoe, the two house dogs, the goat Sofie, some hens, some geese and a lot of birds.

Cà Merlo is the ideal place for those who love animals and would like to take their dog with them on holiday.

The breakfast at Ca 'Merlo is a "must".

After your arrival you will receive a questionnaire where you can indicate your breakfast menu.

Somethin of your breakfast is into the coapbords (cafè, thee...) or on the table (different jam, nutella, honey...)
In the morning I'll put other thins you've chosen for your breakfast into a nice basket at the entrance.

The products are mostly locally produced and breakfast will become a the first meeting with the rich gastronomy of Valtellina.
.and for those who want it is possible to ask for gluten-free products!
During Spring and Sommer you can have breakfast also outside in the garden.

Dear guests,
Tourism has been my passion since I was young, which I have turned into my profession as I grew up.

I hold a degree in tourism sciences and besides managing Cà Merlo in Villa di Tirano, I work as a tourist guide and companion.

It will be my great pleasure to accompany you on the Bernina red train. Throughout the journey, I will provide you with breathtaking views along with my "flavored" explanations, filled with local legends, interesting facts, a few snippets of Valtellina and Valchiavenna history, and, why not, some popular sayings.

Everything is designed to make your trip truly unforgettable.

In addition to being specialized in the Bernina Express route, I can also accompany you on a visit to the beautiful historic center of Tirano and its splendid Basilica, as well as other excursions throughout the entire province, in the nearby Valposchiavo and Engadine.

I will be delighted to be your guide for a day.

The property is excellent for those who want to sleep and be able to cook independently. The breakfast was plentiful and the owner showed absolute kindness and availability, truly cordial and courteous. Although it does not face directly onto the street, the location suffers somewhat from the noise of the surrounding, very busy traffic and from a humid environment. Because there were no mosquito nets, it was not possible to open doors and windows much or to dine with the door open without being invaded by mosquitoes. Supermarkets and services are very close. An excellent starting point for excursions in the area, both on foot and by car. In my opinion the local Swiss train, like Swiss efficiency, is more about image than substance: it costs a fortune (and arrived 15 minutes late; very 'punctual', the Swiss!) and offers panoramas that our Alps have nothing to envy.

Beautiful structure, well-kept and welcoming with a garden and parking, we ate outdoors. Spacious apartment, very clean and welcoming, equipped with all comforts. Mrs. Francesca is kind and provides excellent tourist information, she pampers you at breakfast. Would love to return!

We stayed in Ca Merlo Blue for 3 nights and it was absolutely perfect. The apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean. It had everything that we needed. The breakfast basket each morning was a lovely touch and set us up for the day - I loved the yoghurts. Ca Merlo is set in a stunning location with lovely gardens and it’s a nice walk into the town. Francesca, the host, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. It’s so nice to meet hosts like her. We had a great stay and will certainly book again and recommend Ca Merlo.

Very nice apartment in a typical house of the region, very well equipped, very clean, with comfortable bedding! The owner is super nice! Every morning the breakfast with fresh bread, regional cakes, fruit juices, etc... was waiting for us in a nice basket! There are private parking spaces!!! You must not forget to taste the delicious "Genepink" - homemade liqueur!!!!!!

The owners were available from the beginning in everything, there were no problems of any kind as we had a disability issue with a dog. Very clean and well furnished, simple and essential, a stone's throw from the center of Tirano, we felt like we were at home.

Excellent welcome, cleanliness, availability. Apartment with new furnishings and very comfortable. Close to the center and the departure of the Bernina Express. I stayed at this property during my two-day trip on the Bernina red train. I highly recommend everyone to consider it, for the logistics (very convenient for the station which is very close) but especially for the welcome of the owner, Francesca, very friendly and efficient in booking and suggesting recommended stops. A suggestive place in a comfortable, welcoming, and family-friendly accommodation. The apartment is well organized, equipped with everything necessary, and located a few steps away from the beautiful cathedral of Tirano. But the most important aspect was feeling like family. The manager does what very few do: accompany the tourist throughout the stay, advise them on visits and purchases, help them solve immediate problems, and stop to listen to them. I highly recommend the accommodation at Cà Merlo to everyone.
