Description

Our B&B is located in Valchiavenna, just 2 km from Chiavenna, surrounded by the mountains of Bregalia, in a quiet and sunny position, far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

From our property, you can easily reach Chiavenna and its characteristic historic center and its numerous wonders on foot. The majestic Fraggia Waterfalls and the seventeenth-century Vertemate Franchi Palace are just 5 minutes away. It is also the ideal starting point for summer and winter sports activities in nearby Switzerland or in the Spluga Valley or the surrounding mountains.

We have two spacious and cozy ground floor rooms, which stay cool in the summer. The first one is a studio with a double bed or two singles, a double sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private bathroom with a shower, ideal for long stays.

The second one is a modern double room with the possibility of an extra single bed, a private bathroom with a shower, and a small "cooking" area to enjoy a good breakfast independently. In fact, we have equipped this room with a coffee machine, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Both rooms are furnished with simplicity and care, but equipped with every comfort.

The Bed and Breakfast Vertemate is located in Valchiavenna in Prosto-Piuro, a quiet and sunny location all year, just over a mile from Chiavenna.

A short walk from the B&B Vertemate is located the Palace Vertemate Franchi, one of the most interesting Renaissance villas of the Lombardy and you can also admire the famous and picturesque waterfalls Acquafraggia.

Centrally located between the Valle Spluga and Malojapass, between Madesimo and St. Moritz.

The starting point for excursions to the mountain resorts of Valchiavenna and Val Bragaglia (as Savogno, Soglio, Val Codera, etc.) and for walking along the natural reserve Park of Marmitte dei Giganti, biking and jogging.

Comfortable and very quiet stay, very helpful and friendly manager. Excellent location to visit the area. The parking inside the structure and the abundant breakfast are a plus. Absolutely recommended for spending days in the name of tranquility and enjoying the wonders of the surrounding nature. They are also very accommodating regarding the welcome of our four-legged friend.

We stayed at this property for one night, about 2/3 km from Chiavenna in a quiet location. The parking inside the courtyard for motorcycles and cars was good. The room was new and well furnished, as was the bathroom equipped with every comfort. Unfortunately, due to Covid, breakfast was in the room with packaged and not fresh products, but I must say that the choice was wide with butter, jams, yogurt, milk, coffee, rusks, and snacks. The fridge in the room, the coffee machine, and the microwave are very convenient. I would add a fan or even better an air conditioner because it only had a small window and it was very hot. Mrs. Gina was very friendly.

Spacious accommodation in a quiet, beautiful location above the village, possibility to sit in the garden. Very clean and equipped with all the necessities (fridge, coffee machine, microwave, hairdryer). Too bad that no fresh bread, fruit or cereal is offered for breakfast.
