Description

B&B Casa Gentile is located in a quiet residential area of the town and has the rare quality of being 5 minutes' walk from the historic centre and from the lake; it also offers free access to a large garden, parking spaces and a garage.

It is located on the raised ground floor of a late 19th century building, which has always been owned by our family.

Our 3 three rooms include, a double room "Rosa" with an en-suite bathroom, a single "Glicine" and a double room "Ortensia" with shared bathroom on the floor, They are tastefully decorated with elegant finishes that reflect the character and history of the house and create an elegant, but warm, friendly atmosphere.

The garden, partially planted with grass and partly shaded by five large limes trees, you will be able to relax sipping a delicious glass of white wine.

City tax: €2 per person per night to pay cash.

Breakfast

The rich buffet breakfast includes tea, coffee or cappuccino, a wide choice of cereals and yogurt, jam and butter cream, homemade cakes and brioches, different types of white bread, wholemeal or cereal, fresh servings of fruits already washed and prepared, jugs of milk and orange juice.

On request we prepare soft-boiled eggs or scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese dishes and cold cuts.

At the time of booking you can request a breakfast suitable for people with celiac disease.

Hi, I'm Lidia and I manage with my family a little B&B, in the Centre of Como.

I am lucky to live in a very quiet and green place, a few steps from the lake, the old town and the main connections to Milan and airports.

In the past I have traveled a lot and now I am happy to host the world in my big house.

I know perfectly all the most characteristic corners of the lake and mountains that surround it and are very happy when my guests ask for advice and information.

It is located on the first floor of a building of the '800, which has always belonged to our family.
We are 5 minutes walk from the historic center of Como, by the lake, the Como Lago station of the railway Trenord, hospital Valduce, the funicular to Brunate from the bus station to Bellagio, Menaggio, Malpensa.
We are a 10 minute walk from Como San Giovanni railway station linking Como to Milan and Switzerland.

When the accommodation and its host become part of the experience. Lidia is a careful and caring hostess. She welcomes her guests and takes care of them throughout their stay. The B&B Casa Gentile is a five-minute walk from the center. It consists of three rooms and we stayed in the Rosa room with a private bathroom. The furnishings are elegant and the building, with its garden, is immersed in a timeless place just a stone's throw from the Duomo. The breakfast served in the dining room, as beautiful as Como and its lake are to explore, is the best part of the day. Croissants and bread come from a local bakery, Lidia prepares small sweets and fruit salad for each guest. The savory breakfast with scrambled eggs made on the spot is also excellent. After a day of sightseeing, we had the pleasure of meeting her husband Matteo, and the conversations with the hosts are polite and informal, making you want to return to visit them, even just to say hello if passing through the lake areas. Thank you for the passion with which you do your job.

Casa Gentile is a really nice place to stay. The place is very relaxing due to a garden, there is a safe place to park and the rooms are beautiful. It is a short walk to the lake and the city center. Family atmosphere, quiet and relaxing place, renovated and furnished spaces preserving the style of the late nineteenth-century building at best. Mrs. Lidia is the icing on the cake with her sympathy, professionalism, and cordiality. I can't wait to go back with my family instead of for work so I can enjoy this wonderful place even more.

We stayed three days in this property and we had a great time. The B&B Casa Gentile is a 10-minute walk from the center of Como and has free parking. The owner was very courteous and kind. The room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is good. All anti-covid regulations have been respected. Definitely a structure to recommend.

The B&B Casa Gentile is a very lovingly run small Bed & Breakfast, Lidia Bianchi Monti is an extremely friendly and helpful host who creates a relaxed atmosphere. I felt particularly comfortable in her home. The rooms, bathroom, and breakfast room are tastefully and individually furnished without being overloaded, and all the premises are exceptionally clean. The Casa Gentile is located in Lidia's private home. There is a beautiful garden and Como city center is only a few minutes away, so the location is perfect. I booked this accommodation, among other things, because it was described that all guests would have breakfast together at one table. And indeed, it was particularly nice, cheerful, and enriching. Lidia's breakfast is perfect: fine and very appetizing. Thank you again for the lovely stay.

We were staying two nights at Casa Gentile and enjoying every minute! The lovely villa is situated close to the city center, but in a quiet area. The rooms are lovely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was utterly delicious with freshly made fruit salad, crispy bread with ham and cheese and self-made tarts - the best way to start the day, exploring the beautiful area of Como! We couldn't ask for more. We have been at B&B Casa Gentile for 3 nights, a couple + a 3-year-old child. In addition to a very good location, a clean and nice apartment to stay, Lidia, the owner of the house, was so kind and provided us with all the information we needed. It felt like we were at home.

The B&B Casa Gentile accommodation lives up to its name. The owner is extremely friendly and accommodating, making you feel comfortable right from the start. Breakfast at a large communal table allows for communication with the other guests. Even outside of breakfast, drinks are available free of charge. Our quiet room was very tastefully furnished, the beds and the bathroom were impeccable. We were only there for one night, but could also imagine a longer stay.

We stayed here overnight on our way to Tuscany and were very sorry we couldn't stay longer. Lidia, is a very nice lady who was very helpful in helping us find our way in Como (it was our first time there). Her B&B did not steal its name! Moreover, the property is very beautiful and clean. The location of this beautiful house couldn't be more perfect. In a quiet area of Como, but only a 10-minute walk to both the lake and the historical center. Just about perfect. The breakfast is without a doubt one of the best we ever had in Italy. Very fresh and elaborate. With fresh fruit, pastries, great coffee, lovely bread, and above all a nice chat with the other guests and Lidia. In short, we were very glad we discovered this gem. We have found ourselves a 'fixed' stopover to the south. Although, truth be told, we hope to be able to stay a bit longer than just one night next time. Thank you, dear Lidia for having us.
