Baubaus House is unique in the originality of its style, a historical building where past and present merge, located in the hamlet of Cuirone in the municipality of Vergiate, in a quiet village surrounded by the greenery of the Ticino Park, 15 km from the international airport of Malpensa and 10 minutes from Lake Maggiore.
For lovers of tranquility away from the city, it is a perfect place for families and for those who want to find the comforts of their home in the places to stay.
On the first floor of the guest house, the apartment is carefully furnished and can accommodate 5 people, has a kitchenette, air conditioning and WIFI, parking is about 30 m away. The large veranda overlooking the surrounding hills is ideal for morning coffee, a glass of wine at sunset and moments of relaxation and overlooks a private internal courtyard. The owner lives opposite in the main house and is always available. A short distance from Baubaus House you will find everything you need to fully satisfy the needs of every traveler and taste typical local products.
The village of Cuirone may seem isolated, but in reality a few minutes by car, from Vergiate or Sesto Calende you can take the direct regional train to the center of Milan, the surrounding places offer the possibility of hiking in the pre-alpine landscapes, enjoying refreshment of the numerous lakes in the area and the nearby Ticino river, visit cities such as Varese and historic and enchanting sites on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore.

I am a lady who likes good food..
Cuirone was the holiday resort of Giorgio my husband's family for many generations.
We bought our home because it was unique and we have carefully preserved.
We moved here from Milan many years ago and in 1987 we founded a cultural association to treat the memory and preservation of Cuirone and its history.
We had no children, but our house has always welcomed many nephews and friends.
Giorgio had his studio here.
At the top of the atelier has made ??Baubaus House. The name is a play and a long history that was inspired by an exhibition with other friends and artists.
We decided to rent Baubaus House because we like to meet new people who appreciate these simple places. After the death of Giorgio, I turned the atelier in the archive of the works of Giorgio and the association. The Space Giorgio Ostini hosts sometimes works of other artists, so it continues to live with his generous spirit.

Miranda was a wonderful host. She has a wonderful knowledge of the area and gave us lots of great advice about where to visit. The apartment is very unique, being originally a very old barn that has been very sympathetically renovated into the apartment, with an artist studio below that is full of good things to look at. The bed here was the most comfortable we slept in in Italy! For those who like to cook, there is everything you need, and there is a supermarket nearby. The little village of Cuirone is delightful. We love it. There is great pride in the village about what they have. Not being on a thoroughfare also makes this a very peaceful place. You will not hear much English spoken here, except at Cooperativa La Vittoriosa, where a couple of young women do a great job of running it. Be sure to eat here if you have the opportunity. Miranda has good English, so there was no problem there. We also loved meeting her friendly little dog Trullo. He is delightful. We will definitely return.

Here you can find tranquility but also stimulating stories. The structure is comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen area. The definition "unique in its kind" is very appropriate: every corner reveals the artist's touch! We recommend visiting the Spazio Giorgio Ostini accompanied by Mrs. Miranda. Cuirone is a small, quiet, and well-kept village, immersed in greenery with welcoming people.

The apartment is fantastic, the landlady is very nice and very helpful. She ensures the desired privacy but is always approachable if you have questions. It is not possible to converse in German, only in English or Italian. Since you live in a village, you can hear more or less loudly the typical village noises such as arguing or talking neighbors and a lot of dog barking. You need a car there. The apartment is very individual and artistically decorated. However, this also means that there are many corners and niches that are very difficult to clean. It is not the right place for hygienists. There is no television. We had to get used to reading or playing games again in the evening. The sleeping option under the roof was romantic, but for nighttime bathroom trips, you had to be quite awake to avoid hitting your head. In conclusion: just right for individualists, something different for spoiled city dwellers, but recommended if you pay attention to my above comment. Dear Mrs. Ostini. You are great and we fondly remember you.
