Description

Our Bed&Breakfast is an old farmhouse from the XVII century consisting of a big country house, with old stables and barns. It is located in the plain at the beginning of Valtellina and Valchiavenna, near Lake Como, surrounded by the green countryside and not far from the cycleway.

It is located in open countryside with views of the surrounding mountains; not far you can make several walks in the mountains and in the countryside, boat trips on the lake.

This was perhaps the most peaceful stay I had during my time in Italy. I had a charming little room in this beautiful farmhouse. The room was perfect and the host was spectacular.

We spent 2 nights as a couple in the triple room and had a great stay. We liked not only the room and its furnishings (decorated with great attention to detail), but also the very special atmosphere of the former farm, the wonderful green and quiet surroundings, the garden, the beautiful courtyard and the two lovely dogs and the sweetest cats. The owners are very friendly and gave us good tips for excursions. You can quickly get to the lake or interesting excursion destinations in the nearby mountains. We would love to come back. A heartfelt thank you once again to Didier and his wife!

We stayed for one night during a bike tour, the owners were very kind and helpful. The courtyard is surrounded by greenery and well maintained, the room was neat and clean. Excellent breakfast to start a bike ride off right. Special mention to Pierre's toast, really good!

Booked the day before arrival, I was welcomed by the owner, a very kind person with whom it is pleasant to converse, who handed me the key to the gate and the room. You are then free to enter and exit at will, as is the convenient private parking adjacent to the entrance. I really liked the place, for its location (just a stone's throw from the ring road that allows you to reach the lake or visit the surrounding valleys), for the tranquility (you sleep peacefully at night) and last but not least, for the 'furry friends' roaming the courtyard who are affectionate :-) Definitely a structure to recommend if you want to explore Lake Como and the surrounding valleys far and wide.

We stayed at B&B L'isola for 2 days with my husband and our daughter. As soon as we arrived, Didier welcomed us with his sweet animals (2 dogs and 2 cats). The place is an old farmhouse immersed in the green countryside that immediately gives a feeling of peace and tranquility. The room is comfortable, fresh, and clean with a bathroom stocked with everything and very well cared for. Didier is an exceptional and kind person, he recommended us a wonderful 'crotto' to go eat in the evening. In the morning, he served us breakfast outside the room, in the ancient cellars, with fresh and homemade products like French toast, juices, jams, a delicious almond cake made by him. There is also a kitchen available to everyone with a fridge to store personal belongings. The structure is in a strategic position, just 2 minutes by car from the main road, and nearby there is the Iperal Fuentes shopping center. I really recommend it because Didier made us feel at home, I hope to go back soon.

We had a great full week at B&B L'Isola in a very charming and calm environment. Our hosts were really warm and welcoming and gave us plenty of friendly advice on where to go for a walk and eating out. They also very kindly lent us their bikes which took us on a 30km round trip. The bedroom was really nice and cleaned every day. As mentioned by others, Didier is a real character, never intrusive but with plenty of humor and wisdom. Only to avoid if you don't like your host to engage with you at all! Don't be put off by the proximity of the industrial area you see on the Google map, you can spend days without seeing it by just driving along the old village secondary road or walking and cycling the cycling trail. L'Isola itself is really calm, on the edge of a rural area and not far from the river Adda. It is exceptionally well located also to visit other areas (e.g. Valtellina or Val Chiavenna) than just the towns and villages perched around Lake Como.

For a 2-day trip with my husband and daughter to Sondrio, I booked on the same day and the lady immediately went out of her way to arrange and clean the room with a crib for the baby. The structure is located in an ancient farmhouse immersed in the greenery of the surrounding countryside. Comfortable and clean rooms with a bathroom stocked with everything and very well taken care of. The managers, exceptional and kind people, take care of all the details and in the morning they prepare a breakfast with fresh and homemade products such as French toast, juices, jams, coffee with a Neapolitan coffee maker, and more, served directly outside the rooms, setting the tables outside the ancient cellars or in the garden. There is also a kitchen available to everyone where you can prepare something if needed, and a fridge to store personal items. The structure is only a 2-minute drive from the main road. Nearby there is the Iperal Fuentes shopping center and other shops, or 2 km away you can relax in the summer on the shores of Lake Como in the Colico area. I highly recommend it.

We had a great time at B&B L'Isola, here hospitality becomes an art! The room is really cozy and special thanks to the furnishing elements like the fireplace and the wood stove. Hangers, hairdryer, towels, extra blankets, soap, everything is provided without needing to ask. You can see that the environment is really designed for the concrete needs of travelers. The exterior is truly amazing, a lush garden in front of both sides of the structure. A truly abundant and quality breakfast was served to us in the courtyard porch in front of a splendid stone tub surrounded by moss and succulent plants. Unique furnishing choices make the exterior of the structure very distinctive with an absolutely chic atmosphere.

The structure is particular and of great charm, immersed in the greenery, the room is clean and spacious. Good breakfast (only suggestion: add some croissants/cookies), the owner is very nice! Very convenient location to go to Colico (10 minutes by car).

A warm welcome and a constant concern for our well-being were the reasons for our return to this place for a second stay. In addition to the sumptuous room always well maintained and impeccably clean, the green surroundings are amazing and contribute to making B&B L'isola a must-visit stop to discover this region full of treasures! Surrounded by the Valtellinese countryside, nestled in the lap of the mountain, L'Isola di Piantedo is a small jewel carved out of a 17th-century farmhouse preserved in all its historical authenticity. Equipped with three very charming rooms, my boyfriend and I stayed in the apartment, exquisitely furnished and comfortable. Throughout L'Isola, one can feel a suspension from the outside. You literally enter into another dimension, a very sweet cradle. Didier, the manager, a vigorous and resolute man, runs the structure with disarming frankness and honesty, qualities that have aroused in me the most unconditional esteem and trust. Clear and authentic like few, he fills the Bed and Breakfast with the warmth and attention that makes it the pearl it is, preparing very fresh and genuine breakfasts (I will not forget the cakes or the amazing French toasts) and taking care with zeal and diligence of the courtyard and garden. I cannot fail to mention a few words about the care of the animals, the two female dogs, Nina and Polly, and the two kittens, Lilly and Yann, loved and above all respected. In short, we will return here, if only to say hello to Didier and family!

We stayed at B&B L'isola for only two nights, but I must say that the hospitality, breakfast, and information provided were excellent. The tips on where to eat in the area were also very useful. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was very good and fresh, homemade. The added value was Didier, who stayed to chat with us during breakfast. Friendly and sociable, but never intrusive. We plan to return in spring.

A corner of simplicity and small things! I would describe it like this. The room is a hug and it is furnished, personally, in a simple and traditional way. The breakfast is tasty and plentiful! Bread, coffee, jams and sweets from the area. An excellent place to escape from the chaos without expecting anything extraordinary, but only the simplicity of the place and the beauty of the gestures! I highly recommend it to anyone.
