Description

The B&B TANGRAM is on the ground floor of a 2 floor mansion. On the first floor lives the owner who will help you in case of needs. The location of the B&B is very central, but only 100 mt from the sea. It's near the public transports, shops and supermarkets. The garden, a truly “green oasis”, receives guests and gives the opportunity to enter to disabled persons.

Our B&B offers places in common for all guests like the kitchen and the library, the perfect place to find a good reading and some relax.

Goodmorning everyone! I'm here to introduce you to my B&B TANGRAM.

It was created in the apartment where my father Enzo Maiolino lived for most of his life. Since he left us in November 2016, his legacy as a painter, engraver, writer, archivist and man of great culture and wonderful empathy, has led me to the idea of creating a structure that reflects his way of seeing and share art. The magical atmosphere that was perceived in his house was what I wanted to remain, as much as possible unchanged, even now that he has left us.

Hence the thought of restructuring his apartment, creating a receptive structure that would allow guests to find an oasis of tranquility, peace, and culture in the name of Tangram, an ancient oriental game that had fascinated him to such an extent of great inspiration in the last years of his work as a painter and engraver.

Anyone of you who wants to be our guest can perceive, through the shelves full of books of all kinds and the paintings hanging on the walls, the life of a great-little man who lived for art, for literature, poetry and teaching, his great openness towards anyone who showed curiosity, interest or needed help to deepen unexplored but fascinating fields of art or the history of the place. With his simple, cordial and quiet speech, he never tired of welcoming old friends and new young researchers, to share and pass on his knowledge.

Why not be forgotten..and why, at the same time, do not forget the enormous work and sacrifice of my maternal grandparents to whom we owe the construction of the house, in the years of the Second World War.

I, Giovanna, daughter of Enzo, will try to welcome you as he would have done, with a smile, and the availability that distinguishes us, open to all your requests and, why not, criticism.

Staying at Tangram was a delightful surprise! The house is a legacy to Giovanna's father, the great artist Enzo Maiolino, and is like stepping into history. She was a warm and welcoming host and we had intriguing conversations about art and culture. It felt like staying at a family home and I thoroughly enjoyed the garden and the delicious cake that Giovanna made for breakfast. Close to the train station and to the beaches, it is a very special place and she is a very special person that I hope to see again soon.

I spent two nights for work reasons at the very kind Miss Giovanna's, with whom I immediately established a relationship of trust. She explained to me how to reach Sanremo and where to take public transport. The B&B is very close to the train station and bus stop. Miss Giovanna prepares delicious jams, of which she then gifted me some. I gave the structure a 9 only because the room did not have a bathroom, but anyway each room had a dedicated bathroom. I will definitely return.

We were very warmly welcomed. The accommodation is very central, overlooking a very busy street, but the rooms are quiet. Breakfast is self-service with packaged products, but for this reason we can have it at whatever time we want. The decoration and identity of the place are original.

Giovanna's house has the flavor and soul of Bordighera and reflects the value of its history. The welcome is more than perfect, like all the spaces available to guests, living room/library and kitchen to then enjoy a very peaceful and wonderful large garden. Truly a charming house.

We had a great time. The house is a stone's throw from the beach and the center, it is beautiful and comfortable, the garden is splendid and very fragrant. Very comfortable bed, impeccable cleanliness, amazing breakfast, all made by the owner Giovanna, from the cake to the bread, to the delicious tangerine jam (from the garden). Giovanna is also very nice and helpful, we will definitely come back.

A charming property with a very kind and helpful host. The house is filled with art and books from the host's father, an acclaimed artist, giving it a peaceful and aesthetically pleasing quality. There is a lovely garden behind the house that our room opened directly onto where we ate meals. The location is very convenient to the station, the palace of Regina Margherita, the beach, and other spots. Unfortunately, a virus I had been fighting for days caught up with me while I was there, but the atmosphere of peaceful quiet was very restful as I recovered. Breakfasts included homemade pastries and homemade jams from fruit grown in the garden.

Giovanna and her husband were extremely helpful. The house is cozy and characteristic, having been the home of an artist, the room comfortable and the bathroom excellent. Nothing is missing. The location, very close to the sea, is perfect if you don't want to move the car. The surroundings offer many ideas for sightseeing, but we wanted to rest and enjoyed the sea and comfort.

We stayed only one night at the B&B Tangram, but we had a great time! Excellent location, on the main street so convenient to services, the sea, and the upper town. At the same time, the house also overlooks a closed street and therefore turns out to be very quiet as a location. Mrs. Giovanna, very welcoming, was helpful in communicating with us before arrival and gave us directions on what to see and do in Bordighera. The only downside is parking, but that's how it is throughout Liguria.. but with a little goodwill, you will find a spot!

We stayed for three days and we had a great time. Comfortable room, good breakfast, clean premises. Excellent company of Giovanna, the owner. Very close to the center of both Bordighera and Bordighera Alta. Three minutes walk from the beaches. I would gladly return.
