“La locanda della compagnia” is located at the beginning of the village, and it faces a little typical square where you can find the wonderful Our Ladys Church of the 1871, and a group of characteristic towered houses of the Cinque Terre.

During the last century, in the place where the Locanda is actually located, there was the Holy Virgins Brotherhood see (called “cumpagnia”, in local dialect). Its prestige was famous in all the Cinque Terre, and the possibility to be one of it was a great ambition for every village. Afterwards, thanks to its roominess, that place was transformed in the cinema of the village and a point of meeting for the community in the 30/50s, where the typical rural parties took place.

The property undoubtedly has its charm. The apartments are very comfortable and fully equipped. It is located in the center of the village, very close to the station and the sea. The only drawback (which is not the owner's fault, since in geographic locations like the Cinque Terre houses necessarily get built where nature provides space) is the location, as it is on a slope that appears to have about a 40% gradient and to reach the apartments you have to climb some stairs, some of which are so high they are double the height of a standard step, so they are not accessible to everyone, only to people who have an age or joint mobility suitable for such a climb. I would especially like to compliment the staff, always kind and helpful, and the owner (whom I regret not having been able to meet in person) for his exquisite kindness and great efficiency, for which I am truly grateful. Recommended for everyone who can reach this delightful property.

Given that nothing more accessible was available, it's acceptable for the price. However, be aware that high humidity is present from the entrance hall and it's the same in the room; this leads to mold stains in the bathroom and a cockroach under the sink early in the morning. There was no reception as I arrived outside reception hours (2pm-5pm), which is very short. The check-out was 20 minutes late and the keys were collected by the housekeeper.

It's a shame that breakfast is not included and you can't leave your luggage in storage even for 1 hour after check-out. Also, you can't pay with the credit card app on the iPhone.

Simple place but with everything you need, air conditioning and Wi-Fi available, fridge and TV in the room. In a strategic location and easily reachable even from the station. Friendly and helpful staff.
