I was born in 1972 in Genoa, a city I have always loved and that has seen me grow. After living my entire life in this wonderful city, I decided over 10 years ago to open the doors of my home to travelers from every corner of the world. For me, becoming a host is much more than a profession; it’s a passion that allows me to share the beauty of Genoa and Italy with those who come to discover this part of the world.
Being a true Genoese, I can tell you about every corner of the city, from the oldest traditions to the hidden gems known only to locals. I love showing my guests the heart of Genoa, a blend of history, culture, and of course, great food. I have always had a great passion for cooking and fine wine, and I believe that every trip should also be a unique culinary experience. Nothing makes me happier than sharing a great dish or a bottle of wine with those visiting this charming city, making them feel part of a tradition that never fails to captivate.
Every guest I welcome is not just a visitor, but a new friend. I like to think that once they leave, they carry a piece of Genoa in their hearts. For me, hospitality is much more than a gesture: it’s an art, a unique opportunity to show my city through the eyes of those exploring it for the first time, letting them discover not just the places, but also the emotions that make them special.

Area Acquario
The Maddalena district is one of the six ancient neighborhoods that make up the urban fabric of Genoa’s historic center; while it still retains all the typical characteristics of the old town, the area has undergone many transformations over the centuries, leading to the image we see today. The district borders the Molo district to the south, Portoria to the east, San Vincenzo to the north, and Pré to the west. This part of the city developed, as is often the case with human settlements, as a village around a transit area: the Roman road that connected the western and eastern parts, passing outside the city.
The historic center of Genoa is entirely pedestrianized, making it the largest pedestrian area in Europe, and for this reason, people move around on foot. You can get lost in the alleys, passing by buildings of extraordinary beauty and wealth, shops and little stores, cafés, bars, small restaurants, focaccerias, and a few charming ladies...
If you want to venture beyond the center, there are many bus stops and characteristic funiculars nearby that take you uphill to admire the Genoese panorama and enjoy beautiful hilltop excursions. Hiking and MTB enthusiasts will have plenty of fun on the trails that can be reached in just a few minutes.

Andrea was a splendid host! The house is very beautiful, original and taken care of in every detail and has everything you need to feel pampered and on vacation. The location is great and convenient for visiting the city and the surrounding areas. The host is very helpful and gave us a lot of useful information. There are attentions that really make a difference in a stay, and Casa del Dria stands out for this! It was very pleasant to meet you and you left us with a wonderful memory in our hearts! Thank you from Viola and the "happy girl" Angela!
