La Tana del Tasso is situated above Ventimiglia Alta (Ventimiglia Old Town). It is an elegant villa dating back to the early 1900s which has been completely renovated: The external refined architectural details can also be found inside the house, which is furnished in the same style and characterized by praticality and comfort.

Even though is very close to the town and a from the sea (km 2, 3 need car), it offers its guests a pleasant garden, shaded by Mediterranean plants, and an equipped outdoor kitchenn (in the good season), a large terrace with one gaze you can see both the Ligurian Alps and the sea, and where breakfast is served in the good season.

I am from Liguria, and I spent the most beautiful summers of my childhood in Latte, at my mother's family's seaside house: the Fenoglio family, a noble family originally from Briga and who came to live in Ventimiglia in the 15th century.

I lived in Lombardy for 35 years, living with my dogs (I bred Nordic dogs for several years) in a farmhouse in the Ticino park.

Tired of the humidity and fog, I decided to return to Ventimiglia where I spent the best years of my life. I love animals and live with a cat named Mimino, so I cannot host other animals.

I enjoy chatting and making new friends; my desire is for those who leave Ventimiglia to remember, in addition to the color of my sea and the scent of the pine trees, my home, its garden, lemons, mandarins, and the frogs that speak at night.

In the summer outdoor kitchen, which is available to guests who do not want to go to a restaurant every evening.

The Tana del Tasso was a quality addition to our holiday. Despite the clear sea water and the beauty of the landscapes, we were literally happy to return home. The atmosphere, the hospitality and the unparalleled availability offered by the landlady, Jessica, who lives there, added quality and value to our stay. She provided us with umbrellas for the beach free of charge and allowed us to prepare sandwiches for lunch using the breakfast items. Jessica is comparable to the large lemon tree in her garden: generous and sunny, with deep roots. Outside there is a kitchen with a refrigerator that can be used. Convenient parking and clotheslines to hang laundry and wet towels. Our Camera del Sole had an en-suite bathroom and was very comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the sheets bright lemon yellow and the set of towels very soft and fragrant. In the bathroom there was hand soap and shampoo for washing, and a spacious clean shower. A hairdryer was available in the drawers. The sweet and savory breakfast was excellent and super abundant, accompanied by family anecdotes told by Jessica. The Tana del Tasso is tastefully furnished with family heirlooms: paintings, black-and-white photos and elements that echo the taste and scent of the sea. In a quarter of an hour on foot, along a road with a good slope, you can reach the old village and nice restaurants. Adding another 10-15 minutes downhill, you reach the sandy Calandre Beach, below the Forte dell'Annunziata, free of charge. The water is crystal clear and transparent with a seabed that remains shallow for tens of meters: ideal for adults and children. The Tana del Tasso is only 20 minutes from Menton, its beautiful public beaches and the colorful village. We left with a bag full of lemons, generously offered by the landlady, which will make us think of her with gratitude for many days to come.

Welcoming owner, speaks French well and gives good advice. Close to the old town of Ventimiglia (10 minutes on foot) and the border. Some sea and mountain views, but mostly a view of the highway (although it was not noisy). Parking included on the property. Pretty garden.

The house has a lot of character, Jessica is charming, very attentive, and speaks very good French. We chatted with the other tenants, Germans and Serbs. There is an outdoor kitchen in the large garden. Breakfast is top-notch. There is a guarded parking lot, the decor of the house is very nice. The icing on the cake is that there are several huge lemon trees in the garden, we wanted to buy some for the road, but that’s out of the question, Jessica lent us the right tool to pick them and gifted us some. We will keep this address for our next stops towards Italy.

Top B&B! Beautiful view, no noise, a very attentive and above all loving hostess. A great and above all rich breakfast. Every coffee fresh, fruit, yogurt, salami, ham, juices and cereals / cornflakes couldn't be better. We had to spontaneously extend by 1 night because Monaco fascinated us so much. Only 28 min. train ride almost every half hour. To the train station only 7 min by car. A special thanks to hostess Jessica for her warm and attentive manner. She made our stay extraordinary and pleasant.

What a wonderful spot in Ventimiglia! We stayed one week in February and enjoyed the host, the location, the breakfast and had a great time to visit the city, the lovely restaurants, the hills around and did visit Menton and Sanremo by train. You also can easily take a bus to go into the mainland with cosy villages. Enjoy your walks and be happy; you are in Italy!

Beautiful house on three levels just above the historic center of Ventimiglia, quiet and with a very suggestive view (if you stay in the rooms with balcony). However, what prevails is the silence and the courtesy of the host. Highly recommended!

It is really nice, calm, clean and hospitable atmosphere. I truly recommend the place for all these reasons. My only difficulty was climbing up to get home after long tiring days, yet, the households are very nice and caring people, they were giving me a ride down the city, so I only needed to get back. If you travel by car or bike, go for it, in case you have to walk, be ready to climb the hill:) at some point it is a good exercise to burn your calories:).

Beautiful view over Ventimiglia, the property is located above Fort San Paolo. Mrs. Jessica is a very nice and helpful lady, although she doesn't speak the Ventimiglia dialect. The environments are clean and welcoming, but I'm not sure if she will welcome me again next time because I ate all the breakfast supplies.

I stayed one night with my car. The parking is inside. The property is a bit far from the center of Ventimiglia (2 km?) so it's better to have a car. However, with light luggage, even a good walker can also walk up. That being said, the value for money is excellent. The room is in a beautiful house, the bathroom is outside the room and is shared with other guests, if there are any. The breakfast is great, and the owner is a very pleasant person. Definitely worth going back. Oh, I forgot: there's also a wonderful cat!
