Description

Our B&B is located in a beautiful small square called Piazza San Matteo, is at 50 meters from the main square of the city, Piazza De Ferrari.

Our structure, which has been just renewed, is made up of 5 private rooms with private external bathroom. We also have two apartments with kitchens that can accommodate three or four people.

We are inside an historical building of the family Doria, built in the XVI century.

It's easy to get here, by bus, by metro and there is a public parking area very close.

Good breakfast. The host was kind and allowed us to leave our suitcase in the entrance after check-out. There was a lot of noise during the night; we could not sleep. Something was banging continuously and we could hear the upstairs neighbor's washing machine at 3 a.m. Everything would have been fine if it were not for the noise.

The AC kept making a vibrating noise all night, even when switched off. There was also a noise coming from the toilet. We hardly slept because of it. It was simply uncomfortable.

It went well overall: nice, clean and spacious room, very beautiful building, delightful little square below the house, in the city center. The only problem was the noise from the toilet (Sanitrit), which kept us awake for part of the night until we understood what it was and switched off the power to be able to rest. Breakfast, unfortunately, is not provided.

Very central in the historical center: 2 minutes from the cathedral and piazza Ferrari and 5 minutes from the San Giorgio metro and the aquarium. Nice landlady. Flat accessible with a lift and nice beds and bathroom.

Great stay in the city center! Check-in was very easy with a woman who spoke good English. Super clean stay. Breakfast is delicious, you sit at a large table, very cozy. The only points for improvement: maybe soft music during breakfast and an English-speaking host (at least minimally English-speaking is already enough).

The structure and furnishings are dated, the double bed is uncomfortable, made up of two different single beds. The host is present but not very courteous. The only advantage is the location. We left one day early.

This is the second time we stay at La Piazzetta and I will definitely return for more trips to Genoa. I love the building, fresh and very quiet, in a fantastic location, behind piazza De Ferrari, very close to the metro, the carruggi, the shopping on Via XX September, and the Porto Antico. The breakfast is varied, the cappuccino is excellent, and the hosts are very, very kind and helpful! Highly recommended!

The small and familiar BnB is located in a beautiful, historic building right next to the Chiesa di San Matteo. Elena has furnished the individual guest rooms there with great attention to detail and served us a great breakfast every morning. When you came out of the room, everything already smelled of warm croissants. The location is great, quiet but still right in the center, and we can definitely recommend this accommodation.

We stayed one night in a really nice, cozy, and clean apartment. The hostess Elena was super kind. She allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out. We stayed one night in the mini apartment. The location is very convenient, right behind Palazzo Ducale. Cozy, well-equipped, and clean room. Superb location, right in the middle of all the main attractions, close to the metro. Lovely room. I highly recommend. The only thing is that it's advertised as a Bed and Breakfast, there are signs on the building and room doors saying that it is a Bed and Breakfast... but there is no breakfast.

A first-class accommodation in a top location. Breakfast could easily start at 8:00. The mattress on the bed was first-class (which is rather rare). On our next visit to Genoa, we will book this B&B again.

Location is great - right in the center next to the old town. Breakfast was delicious with cake and croissant, great juices, loads of other tasty stuff to choose from. Only grumble there would be the coffee but I'm being picky to say that. Otherwise it was perfectly quiet and clean, had great air con. I think it was good value for money. Overall I'd definitely recommend it.

The location is very good. Close to most areas you want to go, everything walkable. The apartment is also a good size, with a separate living room/kitchen. The fact that we could cook our own dinner and had a washing machine were big pluses. However, there are downsides too: \n- The closet was falling apart, the door was jammed, and it felt like it was holding the thing together. Don't use too much force...\n- There was an open electrical outlet, with the power cables hanging out loosely. \n- Initially, there were no blankets, even though it wasn't very warm anymore. \n- The host speaks decent English, but we were greeted by the cleaning lady and she literally did not speak any English words. However, she did her best with Google Translate, and if you go to Italy, you should realize that English is an issue for the whole country. \n- While they accept American Express during registration, they cannot charge the card normally. \n\nNo red flags or absolute no-goes, just things that made it less than perfect. All in all, a decent apartment, great location, lots of space inside, and a kitchen plus washing machine. Completely fine option, just not the best.

La struttura 'La Piazzetta Rooms' was, for me, in the best possible location in all of Genoa - right next to Piazza San Matteo, with its beautiful church. There were several great restaurants (one on either side of the property) and it was incredibly scenic and CENTRAL. Elena could not have been more accommodating, always with a smile on her face. My rooms were terrific - spacious and well-equipped. In fact, I could have lived there - nothing was lacking from the kitchen to the large bedroom to the modern bathroom to the rocking fast Wi-Fi. (Well, a bathtub rather than a shower would have been nice but uncommon in Italy).

Very nice structure, recently renovated, private clean bathrooms but all external to the rooms (I didn't understand this from the description) reachable just by stepping outside the room. Good central solution, let's say that if the owner were a little less "precious" it would be better...we rushed to arrive by 21:00 for check-in because "check-in closes at 9:00" and then when we arrived she said she would wait for other guests until 21:00/22:00...frankly I felt slightly deceived, I understand trying to get guests to arrive as soon as possible but if I warn over the phone that coming by car from Milan we can't manage the traffic uncertainty (we know the conditions of the Ligurian motorways at this time) and you respond with "check-in closes at 9:00", in the series "if you arrive well, otherwise your problem", let's say I don't feel very welcome... Breakfast from 8:30 to 10:00, we needed to leave at 8:30 so we had breakfast at 8:15 with what was available. Solution that I will consider for future trips to Genoa because overall the structure deserves it.

The air conditioning was not working properly when we returned in the evening to the apartment assigned by the owner. Being a craftsman, I first called her to report the malfunction, but on voicemail and without a response, I had to take out the filters and clean them myself because, full of dust, they were preventing the proper functioning of the appliance and causing an abnormal and annoying noise, not allowing for a peaceful night. At lunch, I mentioned this to the owner, who denied everything, telling me that she had checked the installation before our arrival. Her authoritarian and dishonest attitude left a bitter taste with both me and my partner. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone due to the behavior of the owner, Elena, who greeted us in such a way.

Rarely have I seen a B&B so tastefully decorated! Since you have to pay extra for parking, it's not exactly cheap. We checked in on my birthday. It was not noticed, after all, you hand over your passport;)) Not a big deal, but not so attentive either. Otherwise highly recommended!

We had a great time at this B&B, first of all for the welcoming (the care of the owner made us feel pampered: thank you!) and then because the room was new and very quiet, despite being in the city center and therefore convenient both for visiting the port area and for services (the station is 10 minutes away). The accommodation was excellent in all aspects. I travel a lot, but I have rarely experienced such hospitality and the room / breakfast were superb. We will definitely book there again when we are in Genoa and I can recommend the accommodation to everyone.

Overall, this B. & B. is excellent. It is very well located, in the heart of the old town of Genoa. The owner is charming and very attentive to his guests. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are well equipped and were impeccably clean. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. We only had one real problem: the access by car is totally impossible, you have to try to stop as close as possible, carry the luggage on foot for two hundred meters and park the car in a public parking lot. All this is not simple when you are not very young anymore. Furthermore, the morning life starts early in Genoa and it becomes difficult to sleep beyond seven in the morning, if you left the window open.
