Description
Relax with your whole family in this serene accommodation. Located in the historic center of Montaretto, it is spread over several levels and has a garden and a terrace with sea view. On clear days you can see Monviso, the Ligurian Alps and Corsica. The beach is accessible both via beautiful paths and via the bus service that connects Montaretto to Bonassola. In about 25 minutes on foot you reach Bonassola. The Cinque Terre Park is located 5 kilometers away as the crow flies and is easily accessible by train or by paths. Smoking is prohibited in the property. Up to 5 people can be accommodated on the upper floor, two double beds and a single bed with an en suite bathroom and one on the terrace. Up to two people can be accommodated on the lower floor with access to the garden and en suite bathroom. Montaretto is located between Framura and Bonassola at about 300 meters above sea level and is 900 meters from the sea as the crow flies. The Sca' cove is located about 1. 5 km of path from the village. Bonassola is 2km away on foot and Framura is about 3km away on foot. Possibility of having a parking space on request.

The first "tourist" arrived in Montaretto around 1350, during the great black plague. He was a rich Milanese gentleman, a relative of the Visconti family. He was fascinated by the place and placed his residence there. On the walls of the town until the beginning of the 1900s there was the coat of arms of that family: on three mountains a snake devouring a Moor. His descendants were notaries, merchants, cartographers of the Republic (Matteo Vinzoni). In the historic center you can still see the portals that open several meters above the ground because in ancient times the population lived high up for fear of incursions. The church dates back to around 1300 and was sacked in 1560 by Turkish pirates who attacked Montaretto and Bonassola. In 1797 Montaretto was the administrative headquarters on which the towns of Bonassola and Framura depended.

Fantastic view from the wonderful terrace. Very large room, well-equipped kitchen, just the sitting shower is a bit unusual. Very nice little place, Federico is a friendly host!
