Description

The guesthouse "La Cesarina" has recently been built in a small building away from the noise of city traffic, although its location is central and very close to the Central Station of La Spezia. We are on a raised second floor with low and light stairs..(NO ELEVATOR!!)
The city of La Spezia is the capital of the eastern Ligurian Riviera, a sweet and enchanting part of the coast that includes very diverse landscapes, made up of fishing villages connected by a dense network of trails where one can discover sublime landscapes, rugged coastlines often overlooking the sea, places that evoke history, poetry, and culture, together with medieval villages still intact over time.

Tourists can quickly reach the towns of Lerici, Portovenere, and the Cinque Terre to admire their beauties and spend fantastic days at the beach. Mountain lovers can explore the dense network of trails, and even free climbers can climb the cliffs of Muzzerone or hike towards the inland through the hills of Luni, where ancient castles and perched villages stand on their summits, all the way to the slopes of the Tusco-Emilian Apennines and the edges of the rocky ridges of the Apuan Alps.

It is an apartment where two rooms are for rent. My room had an ensuite bathroom; my neighbors had a bathroom outside their room. My room was large and had a balcony. All I needed was there, even a teapot (but no TV, which may be important for some people). Although my window faced the railway, I did not hear trains because I slept soundly. The railway station was a 10-minute walk away, and it was easy to travel to Genova, Pisa, Pontremoli, Carrara, and Sarzana by train. Breakfast was at a bar just 5 minutes from the B&B. There were also many restaurants on the pedestrian street not far from the B&B.

Wonderful apartment near the main train station of La Spezia, very close to the city center. The apartment was spacious, well prepared, with its own small coffee station, and has its own balcony. The bathroom was very clean and all the basics were provided (shampoo, body wash and soap, towels, and a hairdryer). Massimo was a fantastic host, very kind, and provided information when we needed it. I will surely book with him again when I return, and I highly recommend the place!

The accommodation offers very good value for money. Although it is not so close to the center, it is very close to the train station and you can walk everywhere. The room was spacious and comfortable, everything worked perfectly and it had the essentials (mini-fridge, electric kettle, air conditioning). The manager was very kind. Breakfast is a couple of blocks from the accommodation; this meant I couldn't take advantage of it every day due to lack of time, but there was coffee or tea in the room.

I really enjoyed this accommodation, with an excellent price-quality ratio for small budgets. It's less than ten minutes on foot from the train station, ideal when you want to take the train. Being close to the station means you can hear the noise of the trains, but at night they are not frequent and with my usual earplugs, I was not disturbed at all (I mention this for those who might be noise-sensitive like me). The host was kind and accommodating, I recommend this accommodation.

Everything was perfect, the room was bigger than I expected, very clean, with a nice balcony and a table with a kettle and mini-fridge, very convenient for keeping things cool. Very convenient for the station, and the bar had a great selection of pastries and friendly staff. Thank you again!

Great rooms and very nice host. The location near the train station was ideal for us. It can be a bit noisy, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast is a drink and a pastry. That was fine for us too. Rooms are clean. I would recommend it.

Easy to navigate, quiet, clean, all basic amenities I'd need for the night including AC, double bed, towels, and private bathroom. Spacious room with private bathroom at a fair price including breakfast at an affiliated bar. Also available in the room a small fridge to keep drinks cool. Very convenient location to the train station and city center. All in all, with a little patience, parking can also be found in the surroundings. Highly recommended.

Great! We were received very nicely, uncomplicated and reliably by the host. The room was surprisingly large and very clean. Everything was explained to us extensively on arrival. The host tried very hard. We didn't miss anything. For breakfast, you got a voucher for a small café just around the corner. Unfortunately, you only received a small piece of food and a drink for the voucher, which we didn't really get enough of. Thank you very much for the great hospitality, always happy - only next time without breakfast.

Massimo is a caring and hospitable host. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, as well as the shower and the bathroom in general. Near the pedestrian center, full of bars. Too bad only the trains were a bit noisy, but I was so tired that in the end I didn't hear them.

The guest house La Cesarina is located 3 minutes walk from the central station of La Spezia, a strategic location for those who want to visit the city (the pedestrian area of the center is close) and for those who want to visit the Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore is only 8 minutes by train. The room I booked (the one with the private bathroom) is spacious and clean; there is a mini-fridge, a kettle, a hairdryer, air conditioning and the wi-fi connection that works as it should. Thanks to a set of keys, you are completely independent (Main entrance of the building, guest house entrance, and room). The owner is a kind and helpful person. I rated it 9 overall and not 10 because being a stone's throw from the station has many 'pros', but also a 'con': you can hear the noise of the many trains passing by and those with light sleep may be disturbed. Fortunately, it's not my case.

We stayed for one night in a triple room for double use with en suite bathroom. The owner was friendly and helpful (upon our arrival he waited for us in the street to help us with parking, which was right under the structure), the room was clean as well as the bathroom (well equipped), possibility to use a small fridge and air conditioning, very close to the train station and city center, also good breakfast at the bar included in the price. The only downside was some noise coming from outside and the internal corridor. Highly recommended.

In the context, La Cesarina is in good condition, welcoming, and connected to the main arteries of the city, including the station. It is not suitable for those looking for a context isolated from traffic and smog. Demand the breakfast ticket, which is provided in the conditions, and in the reservation, it happens that it is not issued by the managers, as in my case.

The very kind owner explained everything to us and took us downstairs to show us where to park and explained where the bar was. The room surprised us, it was equipped with a fridge, a kettle, and upon our arrival, he even left us a postcard, a very appreciated gesture, since it's not something you see every day! We were close to the station, but you can't hear the trains, as it's in an interior.
