5-minute driving from Sarzana, Lerici and Tellaro, Il Giardino delle Farfalle has comfortable spacious rooms that overlook the garden, with stunning views of the Gulf of Poets.

The property is surrounded by a large park with Mediterranean vegetation, olive groves and vineyards.

The garden, with multicolored flower beds, is equipped with children games; and, for the pleasure of the parents, deck chairs for relaxing and sunbathing.

Those who enjoy swimming, can stay at the swimming pool, where is also available a small pool for children, and whirlpool; there are chairs for those who loves reading or simply doing nothing but tanning under the sun.

All rooms have a private bathroom; they are equipped with minibar, television, safe, hairdryer, and disposable accessories for the bathroom. Cleaning is daily.

In the morning, from 8 to 10, breakfast is served; if the weather permits, on the terrace of the villa overlooking the gulf.

The cost ranges from € 65 for single occupancy to € 140 for a double, with extra charge for possible third and fourth bed in the room.

Il Giardino delle Farfalle is easily reached from Sarzana exit of the A12 Genoa-Livorno, continuing towards Lerici for about 4 km. and taking the turning left towards Loc. Monti San Lorenzo which is on the SS 331 in the locality of Guercio Pugliola; for those coming from La Spezia, Lerici or San Terenzo, you will find on the right the same indication, always on SS 331.

I spent my life as an industrial entrepreneur; now I retired in this lille corner of paradise known as Monti di San Lorenzo.

I'm non able to stay without noting to do, and therefore my decision to share with you this marvellous place that I love so much, wishing to offer you a confortable and pleasant holiday.

What can I say… Everything is spectacular. I stayed with my family in this B&B the last week of July and I couldn't have wished for better! The experience was truly super positive in every aspect. The villa is wonderfully maintained by fantastic and friendly people. They were available and welcoming from the very first moment, keeping an eye out for everyone staying in this property. The breakfast was delicious. Nonna Lidia, with her friendliness, made us start the day in the best possible way. The location of the B&B is another great strength: convenient, central and perfect for exploring Lerici and the surroundings. Furthermore, the pool area is also well equipped: with loungers, a ping pong table and foosball, you can spend a serene and fun day. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a relaxing and authentic vacation.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful B&B up on the hill above Lerici. The sea views are stunning, the gardens are beautiful allowing you to relax in the surroundings. The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming to us and our family. It was ideal for our young family—we all loved the large pool and space to play, and we loved the relaxing atmosphere and excellent facilities. A perfect mix of comfort, beauty, and genuine hospitality. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place, an oasis of peace surrounded by greenery, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Breathtaking panoramic view. Very nice, clean pool and maximum relaxation in the jacuzzi section. Kindness and maximum availability from Mrs. Lidia and her son. I recommend a stay of several days.

For grandma Lidia (the owner) and the breakfast, I would give an 'Spinal Tap' score of 11. For everything else, the highest score, especially because the location and the view are exceptional. There’s even a pool if you can’t go to the sea! I would make a special trip just to come back and stay here. Visit soon.

Located on top of a hill in the inland area of Lerici (about 4 km from the center), which can be reached via a steep and narrow road (not even 3 m), the villa equipped with a private pool and green park offers a spectacular view of the Gulf of La Spezia with views of Portovenere and the islands of Palmaria, Tino, and Tinetto. The breakfast is good, the owners are available and kind, they accept dogs that can move around the garden. The rooms are spacious but not very comfortable, with a blind bathroom and a refrigerator. There is a TV with a decoder in a suboptimal position and a practically unusable wi-fi. Access to the property after entering through the gate is via a steep dirt road with parking among the trees 100 m from the house. The stay is excellent in the overall silence of the place especially after a day at the beach, trekking, or visiting nearby locations such as Lerici (practically without parking), Sarzana, La Spezia, Portovenere, and the Cinque Terre reachable from the central station of La Spezia with trains every half hour and the "Treno Card" which entitles you to use regional trains all day long, the connecting trails between the villages (otherwise at a fee), the baths (otherwise 1 € each), and the museums of La Spezia. There are also very convenient maritime connections even from Lerici but very expensive (about 30€ per person one way). Recommended choice but impossible to move without a car.

Structure located outside Lerici (car needed) but with a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Poets. Immersed in a fabulous garden, with a pool and play area, all very well-kept. Breakfast served with local products and exquisite cakes and jams made by Mrs. Lidia. Lidia and her son Carlo are very helpful and welcoming hosts. If you need to get away from the city's frenzy, this is the ideal place. We will definitely come back!

For anybody who is interested, I am writing this review from the bottom of my heart and in full honesty. My family and I spent 3 days in this oasis after a nightmare road trip from The Netherlands with a car breaking down to pieces (including a missing air co in the middle of a heat wave). We arrived very late. Carlo was first of all very kind to wait for us. The next days he took basically full ownership of the car repair, finding a garage, contacting them, making sure mechanics kept up the pace and keeping information flowing. In the three days we had in this house he also ensured we stayed comfortably despite our missing car. Lidia, the owner, treated us with fantastic breakfasts that included freshly made cakes, home made jams and other Italian delicacies made with ingredients from her garden. She also treated us with warmth. Felt like family. The swimming pool is big, very well maintained, clean and perfect to relax after visiting buzzy Cinque Terre. Our kids loved the pool, and spent hours jumping from the diving board, playing ping pong and fuss ball. Thanks very much Carlo and Lidia. We will be back!

Oasis of peace! We stayed at this property for a week in August and having to leave was really difficult. You wake up in the morning with a magnificent view and this already gives you an inner serenity that cannot be described, you arrive at the table with the delicious cakes of the grandmother and it feels like paradise. We can say that we managed to rest and enjoy the holiday despite our one-year-old son being demanding. The garden in front of the room, with games for children, is fabulous; the child immediately felt at ease in this space and had a lot of fun during the holiday. He spent a lot of time playing with the very good 2 dogs of the owners. (We miss them!) The owners of the property are exceptional people, very helpful and kind, ready to welcome every request and above all down to earth. It feels like we've known each other for a lifetime. Also positive note for the pool area, tennis court, you only hear the noise of nature. The property and the whole surrounding context are very clean and well maintained. Another positive note is the daily cleaning service, it feels like being in a hotel but with the privacy of an apartment. The cleaning lady was very kind, always trying to meet our child's needs by arranging the room possibly at times that were convenient for the child. What can I say... Thank you and see you soon!

Il Giardino delle Farfalle. We stayed for 9 days at this wonderful B&B. A beautiful property and garden in the hills with a stunning view to the gulf and across to Portovenere. We had a very spacious room and terrace in the large villa with a luxurious pool amidst vineyards and olive groves. A welcoming and most helpful family with Nonna Lidia, daughter Anna-Lisa, and son Carlo chatting with the guests at the abundant breakfast on the balcony. Despite a bit worn interior in the room, and some family members unwilling to get covid vaccinations, however, we felt rather safe and had a lovely stay.

We were here for a week with 5 people. Even a last-minute addition of my daughter was implemented smoothly. The apartment was very clean, the view from the garden sensational, the breakfast very good, especially the homemade jam. The pool is very large and well maintained. What can I say... Everything was perfect. The location is wonderful, just 7 minutes from Lerici and away from the chaos of the beaches and cities. An oasis of peace. We had a huge room, with a view of the Gulf of Poets. Daily change of towels and after 4 days also of sheets. Rich and abundant breakfast, for me and my two children there was everything we desired. There is also a beautiful and large swimming pool, with table football and ping pong. We immediately felt at home, thanks to Grandma Lidia, Carlo and the two guys Jasmine and Francesco (provider of advice). To complete everything, 3 magnificent dogs: Ginger, Asia and Maya. We hope to come back! Truly a wonderful place.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast, even though the immediate feeling is practically to feel at home: the family is hospitable and welcoming, very nice Grandma Lidia! The offered room was very clean and spacious, we appreciated the books available and the fruit basket, the towels are changed every day. The view over the gulf is unique, more than a garden it is an oasis of great peace! My oldest daughter was happy to meet Grandma Lidia's sweet granddaughter, and as a little swimmer she enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in the pool with me. My 3-year-old son was happy about the presence of slides and various toys, and like all of us he had a great time with the lovely dogs of the villa: Maya in particular was a sweet playmate! Delicious breakfast, like every aspect of our stay filled with attention, my husband still praises the freshly made fig jam he tasted! Lerici has one more reason for us to come back and visit!

The stay at this property would be worth a 10 out of 10! The secluded location, facing a splendid sunset, is unparalleled. The hospitality, warm and friendly, enriched by the presence of four very cute dogs and a cat, has also been special. Grandma Lidia's jams have no rivals. Coming back home with a rich experience. You can only give 10 on all fronts to this magnificent and well-kept structure immersed in greenery and tranquility with an invaluable view of the sea and a comfortable pool. A special mention to the friendly and discreet management of its owner, Mrs. Lidia, and to her excellent breakfast. Ideal for visiting the most renowned locations in the area, perfect for couples but also families. We stayed wonderfully with the family and will definitely come back.

Our little daughter loved the playground and dogs and would have happily stayed the whole day at the very clean and beautiful pool and in the garden. We enjoyed the fantastic view and the wonderful tranquility. \n\nFor breakfast, La Nonna spoiled us every morning with a fish cake and wonderful homemade jam... amazing!

Little corner of paradise between Lerici and Sarzana. Il Giardino delle Farfalle is sumptuous with a magnificent view over the Gulf of Poets and very well maintained. As for the pool, it is perfect. The children had a great time there.\n\nWe were welcomed very warmly. We would have liked to stay a little longer.

Enchanted place. Il Giardino delle Farfalle is kept in a maniacal way. The pool is an oasis in the green. Carlo is a special person to chat with in front of the Gulf of Poets. Magical.

We (2 adults + boys 10 and 7 years old) really loved this B&B, host Lydia, her visiting children and grandchildren. It's a perfect and quiet place to spend your vacation away from the city noise. Spectacular view of the sea and Portovernere. The pool area and pool house in the garden (no sea view) are really huge and like a dream. In the room, there is a refrigerator/freezer, if there had been a hotplate on the terrace to boil pasta, we would never have left the property. Best regards Jonas, Annelie, Anton & Karl.

What a magnificent place to spend your holidays! Il Giardino delle Farfalle has everything; the view across the Golfo dei Poeti is always changing and always beautiful, as are the night skies. The grounds are extensive, beautifully kept by the friendly gardener and provide plenty of shade, even during the hottest days. There are all kinds of beautiful flowers and trees, and of course lots and lots of butterflies! But all this is just the start. Our apartment was spacious, cool, and spotless, thanks to the lovely lady who came in every day to clean, provide us with fresh towels, and practice her English. The al fresco breakfast was a great way to start the day and make plans for nice day trips, for instance to nearby Lerici (5 minutes by car, 2.5 minutes with nonna Lydia driving), Tellaro (15 minutes, 7.5 minutes with nonna Lydia driving), to La Spezia (15 km), or to rent a boat from Bocca di Magra and discover the Golfo (don't miss Portovenere) for yourself. Of course, planning nothing and lounging about all day in the large swimming pool is always an attractive option as well. The best part of our stay at Il Giardino delle Farfalle, however, was the company of nonna Lydia, her children Carlo, Anna, and her granddaughter Jasmine. They made us feel very welcome and they created an atmosphere in which we (two adults and two children aged 6 and 7) really felt part of the family for the two weeks of our stay. Our children had a great time playing with Jasmine and the dogs, collecting beetles, lizards, rocks, sticks, leaves, etc. Our 6-year-old boy was cured of his fear of dogs in no time, which for us was a huge, and unexpected, bonus. Although we've made it a policy to never go to the same place twice for our summer holidays, our stay at Il Giardino delle Farfalle has been so nice that we've more or less decided to book two weeks next summer. We can only hope that there's room left.

Place of enchanting beauty, immersed in the tranquility of a huge park from which you can admire the splendid panorama of the Gulf of Poets. The place is wonderful, it is a large estate in the woods located on a hill from which you can enjoy a wonderful view. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the sea is nearby, although, in high season, there is really little desire to go down to the chaos of the beach, given the peace that reigns supreme at Il Giardino delle Farfalle. There is a beautiful pool with floating games available, a ping pong table and lots of greenery. Everything is easy, you feel like family and at breakfast, while enjoying grandmother Lidia's jams, rigorously made with fruit from the estate's orchard, you pleasantly exchange a few words with the owners, helpful and friendly. What more could you want?

We had a wonderful holiday here. Lydia and Carlo welcomed us very warmly, even in French! The place is superb, offering a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Poets. The service is hotel-worthy: the room is cleaned, the beds made and the towels changed daily. The breakfast is delicious, with good jams and Lydia's tasty focaccia! The pool is very large and there were plenty of games for the kids. In short, we highly recommend this place!

We are a family (two adults and three children between 6-10 years) from Denmark who stayed at Il Giardino delle Farfalle for a week in July. We loved it! This is a very unique place and the family are wonderful hosts. The view is amazing! And the kids loved the pool, which is really big, clean, and nice with lots of fun for kids and adults. The whole property is spectacular! Lots of fruit trees and small gems all around. It is a 5 min. drive from Lerici where you can find beaches, restaurants, etc. It is rare that you can see such a spectacular and beautiful property in Italy - and get to stay there. We would love to come back to this unique place in Italy and enjoy the view, the pool, and the friendly family again.

We stayed three nights at Il Giardino delle Farfalle. This place really has everything: a beautiful and very clean house, excellent breakfast, wonderful swimming pool, spectacular view of the bay, and it's a very good base to visit the Cinque Terre. You can take the ferryboat in Lerici, which we did. What makes this place extra nice is the very hospitable and friendly hostess Lydia. On our last evening, we wanted to enjoy the sunset on the terrace of the house. We asked our hostess to join us, which she did, and she treated us with some of her homemade pie and homemade liquor. Thank you Lydia ;-) We very much enjoyed that moment! Also, it is recommendable to visit the town of Tellaro. A town that surpasses a couple of the Cinque Terre towns in beauty but lacks the crowds of tourists. It's only a few kilometers from Lerici. To summarize: we would highly recommend this B&B to everyone. Bye bye Nico, Wendy, Amelie & Margaux.

Il Giardino delle Farfalle is simply tremendous. Located a couple of kilometers outside of Lerici in a park that affords spectacular views of the Gulf of La Spezia. It is meticulously clean and spacious with lovely gardens and an enormous pool that will delight the most avid swimmers - adults and children. But much better than any of the above is the warmth and hospitality of Lydia, better known as 'Nonà' - kind, warm, welcoming, and a font of information as were her family members. And she cooks delicious tarts for breakfast. Without doubt, we will be back. Thank you very much Nonna. Raphael, Denise, Isabel, and Eoin.

It's the ideal place.\n\nPersonally: wake up at 7:00, walk among the trees, breakfast overlooking the Gulf of Poets.\n\nFrom 10:00 to 12:00 reading, then pool, snack break with fruit and again pool and sun until 18:00.\n\nShower and off to discover Lerici, Tellaro, Fiascherino, Portovenere, the 5 lands and more.\n\nReturn to Paradise up a narrow and bumpy road (only downside).\n\nI will return to recharge my batteries.

More than a B&B, it is a living poem overlooking the Gulf of Poets, near the 5 Lands, a stone's throw from Tellaro but in absolute privacy and relaxation of a villa immersed in a magnificent garden with a splendid pool surrounded by lush nature. The room at our disposal was very large, practically a studio apartment, the view is stunning, indeed the garden overlooks the Gulf of Poets! The pool is beautiful and large (there is also a hot tub!) and Mrs. Lydia was very kind and friendly! Like being among friends! I recommend it to everyone!

We trusted the description provided by the property manager, but we found much more! First of all, we were hosted by a spectacular family, the manager (Lydia) was always available to meet all our requests, and the place is fabulous! Magical view over the Gulf of Poets, 5 minutes by car from Lerici where (besides being a beautiful location) you can embark for Portovenere or the Cinque Terre. The location where you will stay will be an attraction in itself, a villa surrounded by greenery with a breathtaking view and a pool suitable even for the little ones. I consider it an ideal place for families, we will definitely come back soon to visit Lydia.

We stayed four days at 'Il Giardino delle Farfalle'. But it is much more than this. It's a little paradise. This B&B is situated in a fantastic landscape, where you can hear the cuckoo and see glowworms at night. The view over the bay is indescribable. Lidia, Carlo, Jasmin and of course Ginger, the cuddly dog, gave us such a warm welcome. We felt like we were at home from the first moment. We stayed in the 'small' room, 32 sqm. It's very clean and equipped with everything you need, even a kitchenette. The silence let us sleep longer than we planned to. Breakfast was served on the family's private terrace and we were very pleased. Lidia even let us taste her fresh and homemade jam. Delicious.

We were guests in the splendid villa of Mrs. Lidia from May 30th to June 2nd, 2015 and we had a great time! The two very spacious rooms are on the ground floor of the house, with access from a beautiful porch from which you can enjoy an incomparable view of the Gulf of Poets. The large park surrounding the house is well-kept and safe even for children, who can find garden games and the unparalleled company and affection of a very placid labrador! Breakfast is served on the terrace, accompanied by the energetic sympathy of Mrs. Lidia, a true concentrate of charisma and strength! The tranquility and family atmosphere, the huge park, the beautiful pool equipped with games, allow you not to miss the seaside life of Lerici, five minutes by car, provided you find parking, and to pleasantly dive into the tranquility of the hill overlooking the sea, children would never want to leave the garden! We hope to return soon.
