The B&B dell'Acquario occupies an independent section of the Ancient Salt Warehouse of the Republic of Genoa.
The 1600 building, entirely made of exposed stone, is located near the sea walls (Mura di Malapaga) that fortified the Molo Peninsula in the 1200s.
After the war, the ancient Salt Warehouse was transformed, with reinforced concrete interventions and large openings (which are now the windows of the B&B), into an industrial storage space for anchors and marine supplies. In the early 2000s, the Bariletti family renovated the entire building, transforming it into a four-story loft for their own residence and B&B rooms with independent access. Steel, reinforced concrete, and slate were added to the exposed stone walls during the renovation.
The Luzzati Museum is located 50 meters away in the ancient Porta Siberia, and some scenographies by Emanuele Luzzati have been recovered to give a colorful welcome to guests. The rooms are colorful, vibrant, and uniquely styled, with walls made of exposed stone. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a sofa or armchairs, a safe, stone flooring, a wardrobe, a bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, and toiletries. The rooms also include a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and a coffee machine. Connecting rooms and rooms with a kitchenette are available, all with independent external entrances.

The B&B dell'Acquario is located in the old port of Genoa, in a strategic position on the Molo peninsula. It is located in the center of the vast pedestrian area that extends from the Magazzini del Cotone Convention Center (300 m) to the Museum of the Sea and Navigation (900 m), and includes (even closer), the Luzzati Museum at Porta Siberia (100), the Children's City (100), the Aquarium (400), the panoramic elevator Bigo (200), the Galeone (700), the square of festivities with the ice rink in winter and the floating pool in summer (200).
Boats depart from the Molo for tours of the port of Genoa, Portovenere and the Cinque Terre, Camogli, Portofino, San Fruttuoso (FAI), and for whale watching in the Ligurian Sea. The NaveBus (€1.50) also departs, which travels the entire port and reaches the beach of Pegli.

We stayed in a spacious and clean apartment. The breakfast was very abundant. It is located in front of the aquarium, therefore in the old port area. Very convenient also to reach the Galata museum. The manager helped us with parking, because during the week of August, the one at the old port was full. Walking you can easily reach the city center.

Everything was fine except that the TV wasn't working. Also, upon arrival, the rooms were very cold in terms of temperature. I believe it would be better, especially in winter climates, to preheat the rooms before the customer's arrival. Otherwise, very peaceful and welcoming.

I returned with my wife to the same B&B Dell'Acquario where we had stayed with our grandchildren at the beginning of the month (from the 2nd to the 7th), in a different accommodation. In both cases: excellent location just a stone's throw from the Porto Antico (Aquarium, etc.); modern, functional, elegant and discreet furnishings; absolutely professional welcome, punctuality and attentive courtesy; daily cleaning, abundant breakfast with daily supply of fresh products. In the first stay: a 52 sqm loft in the highly suggestive ex-Salt Warehouses (medieval).

We stayed three nights at the B&B Dell'Acquario and we can say that the experience was excellent. The welcome from the owners was great, they handed us the keys and gave us some useful information. The room was very nice, tastefully furnished with modern furniture and a comfortable bed. Everything needed to prepare breakfast in the room independently was available, and every day the staff would come to replace what was used and clean cups and other items, also tidying up the room and even making the bed. The location is very convenient, a 5-minute walk from the city center and the old port. We highly recommend this property to anyone.

Very nice surprise arriving at the B&B Dell'Acquario and in the room. It is very clean, very well equipped. It is spacious, tastefully decorated using ancient materials. The most difficult part is the image of arriving in this ancient district of Genoa that served as a warehouse. The streets are narrow, very narrow, making maneuvers difficult when scaffolding inhabit the place -which is common in Italy-. The vehicle was safe in a garage. The B&B is well located. We stayed for three days and visited the city center on foot. The weekend at the port was lively and very crowded by a cheerful population.

Excellent structure, friendly and welcoming hosts. The room was very clean, as well as the bathroom. Convenient to reach the aquarium. The access road is a bit narrow but absolutely manageable (we have a Renault Grand Espace and had no problems at all). Highly recommended especially for families with children.

Very good welcome (we were picked up by bike to be guided to the parking), perfect location in front of Porto Antico in Genoa (attention, the address is not exact in the documents, it is the address of the headquarters and not of the apartment. It is very close, but the GPS gets lost in the small streets when it is not necessary), the person who welcomed us speaks French, the beds are good, the bathroom impeccable, a bit of traffic noise (but we are in the city). The breakfast could be improved (based on industrial biscuits) but it is already very good, coffee, tea, fruit juice. In summary, very good, recommended.

A great place to stay. The only thing that wasn't working was wi-fi. That was a huge problem because I stayed in this B&B for work. I need wi-fi for my work. But all together, it is a very clean, nice property. The host was very kind. Certainly a place to go back to. Maybe not for work, but for a vacation it is just perfect.

We had a very good experience. Spacious and functional studio. The parking space was very convenient. Very close to the old port. Ulrich was very kind, he came to wait for us at the parking lot, accompanied us, and gave us various directions. The only flaw is that the ground floor studio is a bit dark and closed, but the owner had correctly warned us. This problem does not exist for the upper floor units. I would recommend it.

We had a great time, with my wife and two small children. You don't need to use the car, everything is close by from the sea to the aquarium to the restaurants and trattorias, very convenient in every way and for those with small children there is a nice playground two minutes away on foot and a very rich breakfast, they even provided juice boxes and yogurt for the kids. The best.

I thank you for the hospitality and the welcome. Just a suggestion: having a child who wanted to sleep with us, having a double sofa bed in the upstairs room would be helpful. Beautiful blue room, lovely location nestled in the alleyways, perfect for walking to the Aquarium and the city. Fantastic parking in a garage very close to the B&B. We were hosted in an outbuilding in Piazza Caricamento. Caring reception. Cozy and delightful little apartment, equipped with everything (microwave, induction stove, etc.) all new and well maintained. Excellent beds. I rented the apartment overlooking the aquarium, comfortable spacious rooms, all rooms with windows and blackout curtains, dining room complete with all accessories. Very clean, beautiful and welcoming room (in my son's favorite color) located in a superbly renovated 16th-century building with excellent security service for access. The managers were very kind and helpful, from the directions provided to reach the B&B to the attention towards us to culinary advice/places to visit. The only 'downside,' if it can be called that, is that being a light sleeper, the absence of shutters but only blackout blinds did not allow me to sleep well, but my husband and son, however, had sound sleeps. The location is excellent, we left the car parked and walked to all the areas of interest.

We were greeted (husband, wife, and two daughters aged 15 and 8) by the manager on the street as one would with a family member. After a brief presentation of the property, we were taken to our room where Mr. Bariletti provided us with all the information to visit the city.
Orange Room for 4, comfortable and welcoming, very particular in the details. The little Sara was very happy with the welcome, especially when Mr. Bariletti gave her a teddy bear that she still sleeps with affectionately. Breakfast more than plentiful and of good quality. Before leaving, we were allowed to pick up our luggage in the evening, giving us the opportunity to continue the visit in complete tranquility.

Very nice place, close to all the main attractions of Genoa (Aquarium, children's city, etc.). Located in a quiet alley. The manager is a really kind and helpful person. The place is really beautiful, close to the main attractions, such as the Aquarium, Bigo, etcetera, but at the same time detached. The room for two people is spacious and well organized, in a few words it is a kind of studio apartment. The owner is very kind, every day the table for breakfast was replenished so that we could also eat a cookie or a brioche in the middle of the night. The cleaning lady is also very kind and polite. The price for the service and the rest is really good.
