Description

“ Da Giuà” the new Bed & Breakfast run by the Pisanos, opened at Christmas 2004. It is in the heart of the ancient village of Apricale (from the latin “Apricus”, which means “ exposed to the sun”), one of the most beautiful places in the west of Liguria, within a stone’s throw from the sea and from the Cote d’Azur, in the hills of the Nervia valley.

It takes its name from old grandfather Giuà, beloved man from Apricale and the Bed & Breakfast is known with the affectionate nickname of “the grandparents’ house”.

The building has been renovated recently and the Pisanos have maintained all the characteristics of the Ligurian architecture; they can offer double rooms with private bathrooms, satellite Tv and heating and an amazing view of the valley and the village.

The wooden beam ceiling, the imposing fireplace and the kitchen reflect a world which seems to be disappearing and make this place ideal to spend relaxing weekends for young people and families who want to be in touch with nature and old traditions.

The place lies at the foot of a medieval castle facing the ancient square of the village. It is the starting point to visit the wonderful treasures of Apricale, offering the visitors a mixture of history, charm, traditions and legends.

The Village
The village, which is in one of the clubs “I Borghi più Belli d’Italia” (The most beautiful Italian villages) and “Bandiere Arancioni ” (The Orange Flags), has maintained its historical, artistic and architectural heritage, combining the protection of the natural environment and the traditions with a substainable tourist development.

Visitors can have an enjoyable time together with lots of shows and exhibitions all year round combining culture and relaxation.

People who like long walks will find wild tracks with a rich flora and fauna.

The terrace-cultivation of olive trees, supported by dry-stone walls, makes this place one of the most suggestive in the area and ideal for excursions.

B&B Da Giuà is a very good establishment. We booked the Eugénia room for 3 nights and Paolo was really great with us. He was very pleasant, welcoming and attentive to us. The rooms are very clean, every detail is taken care of. The village of Apricale is very charming and the surroundings too! We greatly enjoyed discovering this region. Warm welcome in a wonderful place. The owner of the establishment and his parents are wonderful people. The B&B Da Giuà is located directly in the square with two restaurants, the post office, two churches, the elementary school, and the castle. One has the opportunity to experience a unique, exciting, and at the same time very comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended! We will definitely return. The house (typically Apricalese) is very well located on the central square of Apricale, which is a magnificent medieval village. The breakfast is good. This establishment is an excellent value for money. I will return.

We enjoyed our stay at B&B Da Giuà. It's worth noting that you have to walk 500 meters with your luggage along cobblestone alleys, and that the parking at 500 meters may be even further during meal times or peak hours. A fan in the rooms would be appreciated given the current high temperatures.

Even though I stayed at B&B Da Giuà for only one night, I had a great time. Paolo, the owner, is very kind (also his father Luciano). The room is simple yet charming, rustic but equipped with everything necessary (which is not always the case). I slept in the middle of August without air conditioning or a fan, just with a sheet. Highly recommended!

A truly amazing medieval village, Apricale is a must-see. This B&B is run by a lovely and caring family, they are very sweet and really nice. The B&B is located right in the center of the village and faces the lovely hills all around. It is clean and comfortable, very quiet during the night, and the owner's mum will make you a fresh cake for breakfast! Yum! Thank you guys, I loved it!

Considering that we stayed during the itinerant show week of the Teatro Della Tosse, a period when the village is literally besieged by spectators, we had a great time. The recently renovated structure is located in the heart of the village which has a magical and evocative atmosphere, but what has remained in our hearts is above all the hospitality and availability of the managers, especially mamma Savina. Special people, who made us feel at home. We recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a few days in a magical medieval atmosphere, pampered with a thousand attentions.

Apricale is a fairy-tale village; it seems that time has stopped here. You happily get lost among the characteristic alleys, discover enchanting corners, and when you arrive in the main square, you find a phenomenal B&B. The welcome is excellent, the hosts are available and attentive to every need. As soon as we arrived, the lady showed us the two rooms and allowed us to choose the one we liked best. We must say that both were really nice and welcoming, accurate in every detail, and very clean. In the morning, they prepared a fresh homemade cake; we really felt at ease. We highly recommend it to everyone!
