Villa Matissa Guest House is located in via Dandolo – one of the most prestigious streets in Rome – a tree-lined avenue that links the Trastevere quarter to the Gianicolo hill area. We stand just a few metres away for the historical San Cosimato Square and in the vicinity of the Ministry of Public Education. Villa Matissa provides perfect accommodation for those who wish to visit one of the most beautiful cities in the world, setting off from the peace and comfort of our strategic position. In fact, the entire historic centre from Piazza Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and even Castel Sant’Angelo and the Vatican can be easily reached on foot. But should one opt for public transportation, our area is served by trams and daytime/night buses that stop right in front of our premises. We stand in the heart of downtown Rome, in one of the main quarters of Trastevere night-life, but nevertheless a quiet setting that is the perfect place for young tourists, families and professionals alike. Villa Matissa is an exclusive location because of its position, but also since it is an elegant villa surrounded by vegetation. Our guests can enjoy their leisure time on our first floor terrace or outside in our large front garden area.

Trastevere is undoubtedly the most colorful and charming district of Rome, where you can still feel the authentic spirit of the Romans. Eventful evening, thanks to the local Roman nightlife, and beautiful day for the glimpses that open up unexpected in a street of cobblestones and the other. The neighborhood is full of cafes and markets in its narrow alleys that shall release around the main square of Santa Maria in Trastevere. During the day it is almost like being in a medieval village, among the many archaeological beauties, rather than in the city: workshops, shops, markets, and a lot of people stopping to chat in the street. We had a great stay at Villa Matissa and it was better than expected. Silvio was very friendly and gave us great tips on restaurants and public transportation nearby. And the garden is simply a dream.

Silvio was fantastic! The property is lovely and we felt right at home instead of being at a hotel. It was refreshing to come to our Italian home after a long day of walking and touring wonderful Rome.

Spotlessly clean, wonderful garden to have breakfast. Silvio and his staff very friendly and helpful. Bus stop outside door and 3 minute walk to tram line. If Rome was as clean as this hotel, it would be perfect.

Just beautiful, perfectly located just on the outskirts of Trastevere and quiet. The gardens are a beautiful and peaceful place in which to have breakfast. Silvio, Monica and Francoise are just so friendly and accommodating. Stay here you will not be sorry.

My family and I reserved the entire 5 rooms available at Villa Matissa. The owner Silvio and his staff greeted us with such warmth and were absolutely amazing. The rooms were immaculately clean and of high standard. A splendid breakfast was prepared for us each morning and served in the beautiful and breathtaking gardens surrounding the property. The property is within walking distance to transport and also to the amazing nightlife and restaurants available in area. I have no hesitation in returning to this property upon my next visit to Rome/Trastevere and I would highly recommend it to my friends and anyone wanting to stay there. Cathy Ortisi.

Eine wunderschöne Villa mit Garten in Trastevere. Ruhig. Sauber. Stilvoll. Frühstück im Garten mit Springbrunnen. Bis zur Altstadt 20 min zu Fuß durch das schöne Viertel Trastevere mit vielen Cafes und Restaurants oder mit Bus und Straßenbahn (1, 50 Euro Ticket gilt 100 min). Freundlicher Betreiber. Sehr zu empfehlen.
