Description
Nestled in the heart of the Castelli Romani Regional Park, just 40 km from Rome, the Vigna dell’Agrifoglio Bed & Breakfast welcomes its guests to an elegant residence dating back to the early 1930s, once home to Vincenzo Azzolini, the Governor of the Bank of Italy. Surrounded by an area rich in cultural and culinary heritage, it serves as an ideal starting point for exploring both the capital and the charming towns of the Castelli Romani, renowned for their historical legacy, fine wines, and local cuisine. Its location also allows for easy access to both mountain and seaside destinations, ensuring a pleasant stay in every season.
Set amidst a spacious garden filled with pine trees, oaks, birches, linden trees, olive trees, and fruit trees, the property offers a relaxing atmosphere closely connected to nature. On the ground floor, there is an intimate and quiet double room featuring a French bed, a private bathroom with a shower, and a reserved outdoor patio. The first floor hosts the Suite, ideal for families, which consists of two double bedrooms, a shared bathroom with a shower, and a panoramic terrace with views of the sea and, on clear days, the Pontine Islands. The Suite also includes a dining area with a kitchenette, available for an additional fee.
The accommodations come equipped with a TV and Wi-Fi. Two common lounges, also with Wi-Fi, hi-fi systems, and a library, are available for reading, working, or relaxing. A laundry service is available upon request. Outside, guests can enjoy a hot tub operational during the summer months, a barbecue area, a sun terrace, picnic spots, and parking. To ensure a peaceful stay for everyone, smoking and bringing pets into the house are not permitted.

Area mid-centre
Vigna dell'Agrifoglio Bed & Breakfast is located just one kilometer from the center of Velletri, approximately 2 km from the train station, and less than 300 meters from the bus stop for lines to Ciampino Airport (about 25 km away) and Rome. The capital city is 40 km distant and can be accessed via two major roads: the Appian Way and the more scenic Via dei Laghi.
Around 2.5 km away, the Velletri sports hall “Palabandinelli” regularly hosts national sporting and artistic events. The local court and the Carabinieri barracks, both easily accessible from the B&B, are particularly active.
Velletri, an ancient agricultural town of Volscian origin, offers pleasant strolls among its monuments and narrow streets filled with shops and restaurants. Its proximity to Rome (40 km), along with convenient roads and frequent public transport connections by bus and train, make it easy to reach the capital (approximately one hour) and explore the picturesque towns of the Castelli Romani, known for their artistic treasures, renowned wines, and culinary traditions.
The “Pratoni del Vivaro,” a stunning green oasis in the Castelli Romani, offers year-round horseback riding and enjoyable hiking or mountain biking opportunities. Within the city of Velletri, significant local associations organize musical, theatrical, and cultural events at excellent venues such as the Casa delle Culture e della Musica, Teatro Artemisio, and Teatro Nuovo Velletri.
Less than 30 km from the Bed & Breakfast are the lively seaside towns of Nettuno and Anzio, which boast beautiful beaches, famous restaurants, and numerous entertainment options. Further away, you’ll find the stunning beaches of Sabaudia and Circeo. The inland area features unspoiled landscapes and extraordinary works of art that narrate the history of the great Roman lordships, the Papacy, and religious orders, such as the “Sacro Speco” of Subiaco, the Anagni Cathedral, and the Cistercian abbeys of Valvisciolo, Casamari, and Fossanova. This rich cultural and scenic offering will provide you with new experiences throughout your stay.

A very pleasant place. The hosts are hospitable and friendly. In a few months, I have to return to Velletri and, if they allow me, I will be their guest again.
