Description

B&B Sol Y Mar, was born by the marriage between colours and scents of sea and sunshine. A villa sorrounded by a luxuriant garden, 150 mts far from Gianola beaches, the seaside resort of Formia, in the region of Latium. Our rooms are all equipped with their own bathroom and a big balcony where you can relax or have breakfast in complete quietness. Each room has a different colour taken from the sun and sea: orange and yellow like our warm sunsets; green like the colour of sea water; blue like the sky, where seagulls sing their stories. B&B Sol y Mar has a lot of common areas for our guests: the breakfast room at the ground floor; a large relax room,with library, shopping corner and free internet wifi access, where you can relax, read a book or drink a fresh aperitif. Outside you can find a wide and rich solarium garden, equipped with all the comforts, even a baby park.

The property is the result of our personal work; it was furnished with sea style, using materials gathered on the beaches during the winter, sea shells, old fishing nets, sea wood: we made wardrobes, lamps and mirrors. Everywhere, in Sol Y Mar you breathe the breeze of our sea.

Your holiday will be unforgettable, both a romantic love escape or a quiet family holiday..

WELL BEGAN IS HALF DONE..
. this is why our breakfast is rich and well-prepared. We take care of our guests' tastes and we use for the most local or home-made products.

Every morning in our breakfast room a rich buffet is prepared, based on coffee, milk, fruit juices, croissants, home-made cakes and brioches, corn flakes, yoghurts, home-made bread, jams and fresh fruits. On request we can prepare also continental breakfast with scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, salami, different kinds of cheese, using also local products like the "tielle" (special pizza stuffed in different ways according to the local tradition: vegetables, eggs and cheese, octopus), just to let guests know our rich culinary tradition.

Located within the Gianola Regional Park, this place is situated 150 km from Gianola Beach (Formia), 5 km from the center and the train station of Formia, and 3 km from the hospital. It houses numerous archaeological sites that can be visited by following various naturalistic-archaeological itineraries, allowing you to admire the remains of Villa Mamurra with its cisterns, pools, fountains, and the mysterious Grotta della Janara (which means witch in the Formian dialect), as well as the famous Roman harbor and the remains of the Temple of Giano.

Within a 5-minute walk, you can reach supermarkets, bars, a shopping center, pharmacies, and restaurants. The distance from Rome is 150 km, Sabaudia is 60 km, and Naples is 80 km away.

The port of Formia, from where ferries and hydrofoils depart for the islands of Ponza, Ventotene, and Ischia, is 4 km away.

Mrs. Ersilia is very friendly, polite, and always helpful. The room where I stayed could use some small improvements: a bedside lamp, a couple of extra power outlets, a small armchair on the balcony, and maybe replace the laundry rack on the balcony, which is small, old, and rusty. I still had a good experience, especially due to Ersilia's professionalism.
