Description

Surrounded by the green of Mount Cimino, the B&B Pontepietra is the ideal place for a naturalistic, relaxing and cultural holiday. Woods, lakes, Etruscan necropolis, renaissance mansions, health and beauty spas, free hot spring pools are but a few of the activities that will make your stay outstanding.

Pontepietra is a three hectares farmhouse with its land descending towards a brook that streams in the middle of it. Numerous centuries-old oak and chestnut trees make space for an olive tree grove that clambers up the slope facing on the immense Tiber river valley. Big rocks covered up in moss are scattered on the land together with the remains of a 17th century farmhouse put up a very striking picture.

The Pontepietra farmhouse was built in three different stages, growing in size as did the land farming needs. The course of enlargement works turned it into a characteristic rural house with multiple level rooves. The oldest part probably dates back to the 18th century whereas the central unit was built in 1939. In the beginning, they used the ground floor as a shelter for the cattle and there is also a small grotto dug into the live stone which the house is built upon.

The rooms offer a refined and cosy atmosphere. Each room has a different theme to it so that our guests can pick out the one that best matches their idea of a countryside holiday. A refined atmosphere is found also in the common areas so to make your stay even more pleasant. Besides the breakfast room, guests have access to a relax room that includes a motor massage mat.

Hot coffee, milk, tea, brioche, and warm bread. Various flavors of yogurt, cereals, and muesli. Orange juice. Cake, plum cake, or donut-shaped cake. Toast, jams, Nutella, cookies, and packaged snacks. Upon request and for an additional fee of 7 euros, cheese, eggs, and cold cuts.

You can enjoy a comfortable dinner in the living room or, if the weather allows it, in the garden gazebo by requesting home delivery from the restaurants in Soriano that offer this service. We will provide you with dishes, cutlery, and glasses at no extra cost.

Our stay here was excellent. Marco is a friendly, helpful and accommodating host. We stayed there with friends and occupied all three rooms. It was great to have a common area to hang out together. We had trouble with our rental car, and Marco helped us bridge the language barrier when we needed help calling for assistance.

Together with four friends, I stayed for a weekend in three wonderful rooms elegantly furnished with en-suite bathroom (very clean). My partner and I stayed at this property for two nights at the beginning of June. We were very well. The location is strategic because it is well connected and at the same time you can enjoy the isolation in nature. The rooms are well cared for, clean and quite comfortable. The quality price ratio is excellent and the managers Marco and Giordano know how to be caring and friendly but at the same time discreet. I recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to get away from the stress of the city to enjoy the cultural, landscape and culinary beauties of this splendid and little-known region which is Tuscia. We will return!
