The Bed and Breakfast "La Villetta del Liri" located in Isola del Liri, in the heart of the province of Frosinone, in Ciociaria, is one of the most fascinating villages in Italy, which is why it participates in the RAI program "Il Borgo dei borghi".
A town of incredible beauty that preserves part of its historic center on the banks of the Liri river from which it takes its name. The peculiarity of this municipality is to have two waterfalls in the historic center, a unique and unusual feature for an Italian city. The first is the large waterfall, a natural beauty immersed in a suggestive setting of a majestic castle; the second is known as the Valcatoio Waterfall, less imposing but equally fascinating.

The peculiarity of this very small municipality is that it has two waterfalls, an unusual feature for an Italian city. The first is the Grande waterfall, a natural beauty immersed in a suggestive setting offered by a majestic castle; the second is known by the name of Valcatoio waterfall and is less impressive but equally fascinating. However, Isola del Liri has many other areas of interest, among these we include the famous Boncompagni – Viscogliosi Castle, an ancient medieval fortress which, as we mentioned, is located right next to the Great Waterfall. Furthermore, the entire historic center is dotted with monuments, sculptural works, ancient churches, historic buildings and monumental beauties.
We point our fingers at the Boncompagni Viscogliosi Castle and enter by treading the medieval bridge. It is this fortified palace to defend the Sora plain that forces the Liri to bifurcate. Nature did the rest by creating two foaming cataracts.
Since the year 1000, it has hosted the Della Rovere family and then the Boncompagni family, but only in 1600 did it become a true noble residence thanks to Costanza Sforza. He embellished it with frescoes of biblical inspiration, 18 high stucco reliefs of the municipalities in the duchy of Sora in the Hall of the Eighteen Countries, statues that personify the virtues of a good prince and a splendid Italian garden with the chapel dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie.

My experience was welcoming thanks to Mr. Moreno, extremely kind and hospitable. He kindly provided a detailed presentation of the facilities and services available for transportation. The recently built structure offers every imaginable comfort. I found a wide selection of food for breakfast and a variety of personal care products, which made my stay pleasant. The environment was impeccably clean and sanitized. It was a hospitality experience that I greatly appreciated.

I stayed 4 days at this beautiful and well-kept facility with some colleagues, after being welcomed as family by the owners we found ourselves immersed in a warm and serene environment like that of our own home, a peculiarity that we have hardly found in other locations, we will definitely return to our now friend Moreno whenever the opportunity arises.
