The Bed and Breakfast La Valle del Tevere overlooks a charming little square in the heart of the historic center of Torrita Tiberina. A quaint church adds to the area’s allure. Here, tranquility and peace provide guests with the perfect chance to unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This location is perfect for a romantic getaway or for anyone looking to take a break from work, but it is also suitable for families, thanks to the nearby Tevere-Farfa Natural Reserve and the boat dock, which is a special attraction for children.
Strolling through the historic center of the village, one can feel a delightful and timeless atmosphere. The village is situated on a hill and leads to the main square, dominated by the majestic Palazzo Baronale, offering breathtaking views of the Sabina region. The best way to explore the Roman countryside and the neighboring Sabina is by car. Rome and Rieti can be reached in under an hour via the ancient Via Salaria, and charming medieval villages in Sabina, such as Casperia, Fara in Sabina, Palombara Sabina, Roccantica, Poggio Mirteto, Torri in Sabina, Poggio Catino, Greccio, and many others can be visited in 30-40 minutes. Tivoli is an hour away, while the famous Abbey of Farfa is just 30 minutes away.
Sabina also offers numerous places of worship, such as abbeys, shrines, and hermitages, and is traversed by the historic Via Francigena. For adventure and nature enthusiasts, it is possible to explore Sabina by bike, discovering spectacular landscapes, forests, and hills covered with olive groves. There are also several riding schools in the area where one can enjoy a pleasant horseback ride.
From the Bed and Breakfast La Valle del Tevere, the Tevere-Farfa Natural Reserve is just a short drive away, and on the river, activities like rowing and kayaking are available. In the summer, guests can relax by the pool at the Piscine Tevere in Fiano Romano, only a 10-minute drive away, or at the Terme di Cretone in Palombara Sabina. In the municipality of Mompeo, there is an exceptional natural treasure: the Gole del Farfa; for mountain lovers, hikes in the Sabine Mountains and on Monte Terminillo, 40 km from Torrita Tiberina, are recommended.
Sabina is also easily accessible by bus, thanks to the Cotral line, which stops in all the towns. It is advisable to check the schedule in advance on their online sites. The bus terminal is located at the Poggio Mirteto Scalo Station, where direct trains arrive from Fiumicino Airport and Rome Tiburtina.
The area is rich in agritourisms, restaurants, dairies, and bakeries offering delicious local products. Don’t miss the chance to visit the Museo dell'Olio Sabino in Castelnuovo di Farfa, just a 25-minute drive away.
