Description

The butterfly Bed and Breakfast is located in the new district of Bagnoregio, the birthplace of Saint Bonaventure. Bagnoregio is situated half-way between Orvieto and Viterbo, 18 km and 27 km respectively from Bagnoregio. A mere 10 km away is Lake Bolsena, and 100 km’s away, within an hour and a half’s drive, Rome can be reached, either by A-1 or the Cassia, the State route. At about 1 km away, tourists can admire and intensely experience the enchanting atmosphere of Civita di Bagnoregio, a truly unique medieval town where only the song of nature exists, surrounded by the characteristic Valley of the Calanchi (argillaceous erosion furrows, whose aspect and form undergo continual changes and crumbling, due to wind and rain).

The Butterfly Bed and Breakfast is a new construction, located near public sports facilities (tennis, soccer, athletics, football), and is comprised of bright, independent rooms with private bath. Some also offer a living room and TV. Private parking is available.

Breakfast garnished with typical foods of the region is served.

Our guests sojourn in peace and tranquillity, far from the noise of traffic, in the freshness of the the hilly air, with secure comfort in our three rooms: Melitea, Ananea and Lycaena.

The “Butterfly” Bed & Breakfast is situated in the newest area of Bagnoregio, Saint Bonaventure's birthplace. Bagnoregio is located half-way between Orvieto and Viterbo, which are respectively 18 km and 27 km far from the village. Bolsena Lake is only 10 km far away and it only takes an hour to reach Rome (100 km far), either by A1 or by the State route Cassia. At about 1 km away the tourist can admire and experience the intense and charming atmosphere of Civita di Bagnoregio, a characteristic medieval village immersed in a blooming nature and surrounded by the peculiar Valle dei Calanchi (argillaceous gullies, whose aspect and form undergo continual changes and crumbling due to wind and rain).

The “Butterfly” Bed & Breakfast is a new building located near public sports facilities (tennis courts, athletics tracks, football grounds) and it consists of bright, independent rooms with private bathrooms; some of them also offer living room and TV. Furthermore, our guests can make use of our private parking. We serve a breakfast garnished with typical local products.

We found a very clean, quiet, and comfortable room (there were four of us). Mrs. Anna Maria and her husband were very kind, courteous, and helpful. Abundant breakfast with a fantastic view of the woods. Great starting point to visit Civita di Bagnoregio, but also Orvieto and Sant’Angelo.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The manager is a kind and helpful lady, the property is located in a strategic position to visit the surrounding areas such as Orvieto, Bolsena, etc... and is a 15-minute walk from Civita, in a quiet and residential area. There is private parking available under the property, the rooms and premises are clean, no issues in our room, which was spacious with a large new bathroom. The buffet breakfast is pleasant, served by the owner, with homemade sweets and also savory options; there is a great variety of food. Highly recommended!

Well-maintained and clean facility, good and plentiful breakfast. Ms. Anna was very kind and helpful. The location is good, on foot it's a fifteen-minute walk from the central square of Bagnoregio and 40 minutes from the viewpoint. By car, it only takes a few minutes. If we return to Bagnoregio, we will definitely book here!

We had a great time. The location is a good half hour walk to get to Civita. The room was really spacious with a fridge in the room and a large bathroom. The landlady was really kind and helpful in assisting us and with a very good breakfast with local products. We highly recommend it!

I stayed only one day in this accommodation and everything went well. Very well-kept and clean environment. The B&B is located in a not very nice setting but is a stone's throw from Civita di Bagnoregio and 10 minutes from the lake and the town of Bolsena.

Cozy, clean, tidy room in a new structure, quiet area. Private parking appreciated. Civita can be reached on foot with a walk through the center of Bagnoregio in about 15/20 minutes. We had a great time, the structure is new and the location is strategic for visiting the high Viterbo Tuscia. The breakfast is spectacular with homemade desserts prepared by the owner. What can I say? First of all, the rooms: really beautiful, very colorful and spotless. The place is stunning, and it is very convenient if you want to visit the surroundings. The landlady is also very kind and welcoming, and knows everything there is to know about the places to visit. The view of Civita di Bagnoregio is priceless! Finally, a special mention goes to the breakfast, which was... Well, it was amazing. I could write pages and pages about the breakfast. In conclusion, if I ever return to Bagnoregio I would have no doubts about which B&B to choose!

Thanks to Mrs. Anna Maria. She was welcoming, prepared us an excellent and abundant breakfast with homemade pastries, and was very available but also very discreet. The room and the bathroom were very clean, and the structure is adequately heated. In the morning we woke up to the sound of birds singing! (The B&B is located in a quiet place).

Also on this last trip to the area of Lake Bolsena, we stayed at the property in question and once again we were able to appreciate the kindness, cordiality, and availability of Mrs. Anna Maria. For all this and for the places located in the surrounding area of Bagnoregio that deserve to be visited, we strongly recommend without a shadow of a doubt the bed and breakfast Butterfly.
