To the southeast of Rome, just 10 minutes by metro from the historic center, near the Aurelian Walls, is the eighth district of the Capital, the Tuscolano district, among the first 15 districts established in 1911 and officially instituted in 1921.
The district takes its name from the Tuscolana street, the ancient medieval road that goes from Porta San Giovanni in Rome to the Castelli Romani, to Tuscolo (which is now Frascati). Today, the Tuscolana street, which runs parallel to the Appian Way, starts from Piazza Sulmona and reaches the town of Macere (Artena) after crossing the Quadraro, Tuscolano, and Cinecittà districts.
During World War II, the popular district was heavily bombed, but soon after, there was a strong demographic growth and urban development in the district, which is still very populous today and rich in commercial activities. The Tuscolana area features many different architectural styles and is bordered by the Aqueducts Park, a true green oasis and a valuable testimony to the historical and archaeological heritage of Rome.
The Tuscolano district is also renowned because it is here that the famous Cinecittà film studios are located, the most important production center of the Italian film industry, and the Cinecittà Due shopping center, which is one of the largest and most frequented in Rome.
Cinecittà, which, like the Experimental Cinematography Center, was born during fascism, covers an area of over 500,000 square meters. Thousands of films that have made history, not only in Italian cinema but also in Hollywood (countless blockbusters have been associated with Cinecittà, from "Ben Hur" to "Cleopatra" to "Gangs of New York") and other film industries, have been shot here, thanks to the availability of numerous soundstages. These same studios are now extensively occupied by television productions and dramas.

There was a lack of transparency from the b&b managers. I booked at Bed Cinecittà and, once I arrived at the address on the reservation, I was told to move to a completely different place (not too dramatic, it was about a 700-meter walk that, if I had been informed, I would have done directly by metro, getting off one stop later). I appreciated being able to check in an hour earlier than the scheduled time (19), the room was quite clean. What didn't sit well with me is that I had booked a triple room for single use, but I was accommodated in a double room for single use. Not a big deal, it was spacious for one person, but I didn't like booking one service and receiving another (without any explanation, then). Breakfast not provided on the premises as there are no suitable spaces, but in a very close bar, where they were really kind.

We stayed here for just one night, but we had a great time. The rooms are equipped with all possible comforts (air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi...). Extremely clean place and easy to reach. The staff was also very helpful and polite, they helped us a lot and accommodated any request. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and bright, furnished in a modern way, the recently renovated bathroom was clean and functional, the mattress of the new and very comfortable bed, the air conditioner working as well as the TV. I was satisfied, I will definitely come back.

Simple but comfortable accommodation. Clean and spacious room, the mattress is not quite up to par but we slept well. New and very clean bathroom. The manager was efficient and courteous. It is in a great location, in a beautiful building and a few meters from the subway. Also recommended for longer stays (we only stayed one night).

It is really a nice place. The guy was very helpful and allowed us to stay comfortably. Although there was a shared bathroom, it was always very clean and especially large and completely new. The quality-price ratio is really excellent, I recommend it.
