Welcome to Barocchetto Romano, a charming B&B located in the heart of Ostia’s historic centre, just a few steps from the Pontile, the beach and the lively pedestrian area. Surrounded by cafés, restaurants and boutique shops, our location is ideal for enjoying both the seaside and the Eternal City.

Housed on the first floor of an elegant early 20th-century Liberty building, the property offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and everything you need for a relaxing stay.

One of our guests’ favourite features is the spacious 70 m² panoramic terrace overlooking the sea and the historic centre of Ostia. It’s the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, unwind after a day exploring Rome or Ostia Antica, or simply relax while watching the sunset.

Lido Centro train station is only a five-minute walk away, providing direct connections to central Rome in around 30 minutes. Fiumicino International Airport is approximately 8 km away, while the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica can be reached in just a few minutes by train.

Whether you are travelling for leisure, business or a short stopover, Barocchetto Romano offers a welcoming atmosphere, an excellent location and genuine Italian hospitality.

Breakfast

Breakfast is one of the moments we enjoy sharing most with our guests. We like to make it both enjoyable and flexible, adapting it to the needs of travellers on holiday, business guests or those leaving early in the morning.

Each day we offer a generous selection of sweet and savoury products, including freshly baked croissants, pastries, biscuits, crispbread, jams, honey, cereals, muesli, yoghurt, fresh milk, fruit juices and seasonal fruit.

Coffee lovers can enjoy a good Italian espresso prepared with our coffee pod machine, while the kettle is always available together with a wide selection of teas and herbal infusions. Toast, butter, cocoa, instant coffee and everything needed for a pleasant breakfast are also provided.

Depending on the season and the organisation of the B&B, breakfast may be personally served or prepared independently by guests using our fully equipped shared kitchen. This allows everyone to enjoy breakfast at their preferred time, especially those with early departures or busy schedules.

Breakfast can be enjoyed in the cosy living room, in your room or on our panoramic sea-view terrace, one of the most appreciated areas of Barocchetto Romano.

My stay in Ostia was not long but very pleasant. Thanks to the warm welcome of Perla and Riccardo. The room was clean and had everything you need. The atmosphere is very cozy. There is a common veranda and terrace. The location is close to the sea. I recommend it.

Most of these ratings I would have given an 11. You could not find nicer, more helpful hosts. I had a great time, using the place as a base for 9 days. The room was cleaned each day and spotless. The food was superb. I’m coming back.

The hotel was nicely decorated and the room was small but cosy. The bed was good and from the big and beautiful balcony, you could see the sea and the city center. Nearby there are many good restaurants. The breakfast was small and not very good. I felt very sad when we were leaving and Ms. Perla asked for the city tax again. We paid it on the second day but she could not remember that. Also, she said that we had been charged extra from the kitchen. When I asked what that was, she said that we had made coffee and taken muffins. The coffee was ours and yes, we took 2 muffins but never took them in the morning. It would be nice if there were a list of what was included and a price list for extras. Also, we arrived at the hotel around 23.30 and we had to pay an extra 15 euros for the late arrival. On their website, it seems that the hotel is open until 23.30.

Dear Tuula, probably you reserved so many times before to arrive, making request from different website that you get confused....We have to follow you until we could understand your necessity to satisfy your request. The first was the arrival time, please go on our messages and see arrival after 23.00, maximum check in time we showed everywhere, has a cost of plus €15 per hour delay. Our breakfast is famous and despite on our page is written self service breakfast, breakfast was SERVED and I remember you have yogurt, cereals, croissant, fruits, coffee, eggs with bacon or ham and cheese toast. The kitchen has always products available, breakfast is included but as per the menu, shown and explained at check in, food and drinks are not free out of breakfast time. We simply asked if you had any extras and in any case what you consumed was offered to you. Furthermore check out is at 11.00 but you absolutely ignore it going for a walk and coming back half our late to check out. Regarding the payment of tourist tax, I still don't remember that it was paid, but when you said you had already paid it, we even didn't contested. If I hadn't bothered to assist you, you would have left the expedia reservation for the room you didn't want at double the of the cost. Anyway it was a pleasure hosting you. Thanks for your visit.

Hosts were wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful. The location with the terrace over the piazza was very pleasant, including the glimpse of the sea. The room was spotless, comfortable and nicely done except the kitchen area was the only location with a sink.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find B&Bs that meet expectations and to feel a bit like at home. For me, who often travels, the Barocchetto Romano is an ideal residence to rest in tranquility and spend a few days in a pleasant location like Ostia. Comfortable environment, splendid terrace, excellent hospitality, and available staff. I had the pleasure of spending a day at the Barocchetto with my boyfriend and our dog with every service available (kitchen, breakfast, WiFi, bathroom in the room). When you manage to find your intimate spaces even outside the home, well, this is the best. Thanks to Ms. Perla and the kind girl who welcomed us.

My review has a different flavor because I have been living in Ostia since 1998, and while walking along Via Lucio Coilio, who, and I say who, does not look up to see that magnificent terrace and, to be honest, I did not imagine it was a bed and breakfast. So by chance, my girlfriend and I, not having the possibility to stay at my place that weekend, while searching on the internet, see the photos of the terrace and manage to book for a wonderful, romantic, private, relaxing weekend, and at the same time, in the center of everything: the sea is 100 meters away and trendy places below. My review can only be a high score for both the structure and for Perla, who expertly and with great effort manages it. A hug, Sal.

As soon as I arrived, I said to myself: "It feels like being in a small romantic world!" The rooms are welcoming, clean, and tastefully and elegantly furnished. There is a small sitting room where you can relax, a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need, and a very large terrace where you can have breakfast, relax, or simply sunbathe, enjoying the distant sea. I will return, because it really feels like home. Perla, the hostess, is truly a capable woman.

Very beautiful B&B, decorated with a lot of taste. Magnificent terrace with a view of the sea. Ideally located. You can reach Rome very quickly. I felt at home thanks to Perla's hospitality and generosity. It is an address I highly recommend.

This B&B is charming and within walking distance to the sea. The breakfast was the average fare, nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either. However, the manager, Perla, was fantastic. She is a very helpful and friendly person. If you are looking for something small and intimate, with the feel of an apartment, I recommend this B&B without hesitation.
