Bari Fairs and Exhibitions Centre

The Ente Autonomo Fiera del Levante, an independent organisation set up to organise trade fairs and exhibitions, was first established in 1929 on the joint initiative of the Town Council, the Provincial Administration and the Chamber of Commerce of Bari. Since then its constant aim - enshrined in the organisation's charter and name - has been to foster contacts between West and East, Europe and the Mediterranean world. The Fiera del Levante's promotional campaigns and the many associated events have as their successful slogan "Bari, where Europe meets the East". The first Fiera del Levante - an International Trade Exhibition - was held in 1930. On its Board of Directors the Fiera del Levante of Bari has representatives from the original founding organisations, from the appropriate Ministries, from the Regional Government, and from the entrepreneurial, productive and economic sectors.
