Our Bed&Breakfast is located in the center of Opicina on the hills surrounding Trieste at a distance from the city centre of 4 km (or 10 minutes by car). The historical “Opicina Tramway” provides a scenic alternative to reach the center of Trieste in 20-25 minutes. The end stop of the tramway is in front of the Bed & Breakfast.

The Bed & Brekfast is housed in a historical building which was built in 1880 as the residence for a wealthy Habsburg family. The site was previously occupied by an inn. The house was completely renovated in 2011. It is surrounded by a large italian-style garden with a swimming pool and several timber trees. Guests will have at their disposal two bedrooms (two and three beds) each with a bathroom. The two bedrooms are linked by a door and can be rented either separately or together.

Guests can relax in the garden or by the swimming pool; or they can rent bicycles to use on the beautiful nature trails of the “Carso” (this is the name of the range of hills behind Trieste). The bus line 42 to the Grotta Gigante (one of the Carso's largest tourist caves) starts from nearby our house.

Guests who do not have their own means of transportation can contact us in advance and we will drive them to the Bed & Breakfast on arrival or else they can avail themselves of public transport from the railway station. A well-known golf course is located a few kilometers from our house (in Padriciano).

We have agreements with providers of cruises in the Gulf of Trieste, sailing courses for adults and children (in the summer period only), guided tours in the neighbourhoods of Trieste or to the museums and other attractions in the city centre.

Our guests will enjoy the family atmosphere of our bed & breakfast and the quiet of a small residential neighbourhood with all the comforts and conveniences of city life (banks, post office, shops, news agents, restaurants, pubs, public transport) just a few minutes walking away.

We speak English and German.

Our Bed&Breakfast is located in the center of Opicina on the hills surrounding Trieste at a distance from the city centre of 4 km (or 10 minutes by car), or 15 min by bus. 3 lines of buses connect our villa to downtown. the bus stop is 50 mtrs far from the villa.

It is surrounded by a large Italian-style garden with a swimming pool and several trees. There are three bedrooms available (two and three beds) each with a bathroom and air conditioning. Two bedrooms are linked by a door and can be rented either separately or together.
Guests can relax in the garden or by the swimming pool. They can also take a walk on the beautiful nature trails of the “Carso” (this is the name of the range of hills behind Trieste).
Napoleonica is a marvelous and panoramic 4 km long trail. It finishes at Prosecco.

The bus line 42 to the Grotta Gigante (one of the Carso's largest tourist caves) starts from nearby our house and finishes in Piazza Oberdan (city center), passing through the village of Prosecco.

Guests who do not have their own car can contact us in advance and we will drive them to the Bed & Breakfast on arrival or they can avail themselves of public transport from the railway station.
A well-known golf course is located a few kilometers from our house (in Padriciano).

We will be happy to provide tourist information, details of guided tours, recommendations for brunches and dinners in typical local restaurants. We will try to satisfy all the needs of our guests in order to make your stay very pleasant.

Buongiorno, grazie per la recensione. Mi permetta solo che non capisco il 6 per la posizione. Trattandosi di villa storica con 2000 mq di giardino non possiamo ovviamente essere in centro, siamo a 4 km dal centro storico e ben collegati al centro storico in circa 15 minuti con la fermata dei bus a pochi metri dalla casa, tant'è che nel vostro soggiorno avete fatto tutte le visite senza mai muovere la macchina. Il vostro voto complessivo, più che positivo e di cui nuovamente ringrazio, è testimonianza che vi siete trovati molto bene. Purtroppo il 6 può far pensare a potenziali futuri ospiti ad una posizione disagevole, cosa che in effetti non è. Vi aspetto per un altra vostra eventuale visita. Fulvia

Friendly and attentive hosts to the needs of the guests. Very clean and beautiful structure in the hills, but with the center of Trieste easily reachable by the legendary tram. Possibility of relaxation in the garden with the pool. We will return.

In this delightful period villa, excellently restored and maintained, we were warmly welcomed by the owners Fulvia and Franco who made us feel at home. Breakfast was abundant and varied with quality products served in elegant and unexpected plates and cups. The location is very pleasant and well served for the city center with buses and trams from 1902 back in service. We also had a wonderful dinner in the company of our hosts who, besides being excellent hosts, are truly friendly. If we return to Trieste, we will definitely stay at Villa Albori.

Spacious, welcoming, and clean room, equipped with every comfort, inside an ancient 19th-century villa, perfectly maintained and cared for in every detail. The owner Fulvia and her family are welcoming and helpful people. The breakfast is good and always fresh. The internal parking is useful, which we recommend using given the limited availability of external parking.

Villa Albori offers a nice and comfortable accommodation just outside of Trieste. The city center can easily be reached by bus or the historic tram (which is already one of the touristic highlights). Opicina is a village with sufficient options for food (excellent pizzerias) and supplies. The hosts Fulvia and Franco (and Sergio) are welcoming friendly people who helped whenever we had a question. The room was spacious enough for two and the bathroom was in good working order and clean. The breakfast was served as buffet (mostly) and offered a large choice of food, sweet (croissant, jam, cake,...) as well as salty (bread, cheese, salami or ham). Coffee and water for tea were available from a machine, and juices and cold water were readily available, too. Free parking was possible just outside of Villa Albori or in the garden for a fee. We had the car outside and it worked well for us. For the exploration of Trieste and surroundings we used the buses (or tram). A nice walking tour leads to the church/temple at Monte Grisa and further on to the castle Miramare (but you should like hiking if you want to try it). Payment was in cash only but that caused no problem for us.

The accommodation is simply fabulous. The operators are very, very friendly and helpful and always have the well-being of their guests in mind. We felt very welcome from the beginning. Villa Albori is a beautiful house, also furnished in the style of a villa with pool and garden. The location with a bus stop right at the accommodation is great. By bus you can quickly get anywhere: to the city, to the shopping center, to the sea or to surrounding places (Muggia, Barcola). Ferry trips from Trieste to Muggia or to Castello Miramare are also recommended. The tickets are affordable and you can leave your car parked. The breakfast is fabulous with homemade cakes and jams. Also the breakfast room is furnished with attention to detail. As well as our spacious, air-conditioned room with modern bathroom. We really liked it there and would have liked to stay longer. Fulvia and Franco as well as Sergio and his wife are really great hosts, who run their B&B with a lot of passion.

This is a perfect place for those who want a homely feel when visiting Villa Albori. In a perfect location if you want to get away from the city. The breakfast is fantastic and homemade. Also a very good price for what you get. I will come again when I come back to Trieste.

The hostess was very gracious, the best in communications and helping us. We had many challenges trying to get to Trieste but she guided us with very useful information. The place is historic, clean & very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and many items are homemade. The location was not in town center but it not expensive by taxi from the train station. I highly recommend.

We loved our stay in this beautiful and cozy place. The breakfast was great, featuring fresh and hand-baked items that were truly yummy. The pool was fantastic, with very nice water, and it was surrounded by a beautiful garden with plenty of good shadow places. \n\nWe were able to take buses to Trieste and the Grotta Gigante. The bus system is perfect. They have air conditioning, arrive on time at short intervals, and operate late into the night. \n\nWe are looking forward to coming back in the spring.

Quite like images suggested. Cozy and relaxing, nice hosts. Easily accessible from the center of Trieste, with one bus even till midnight. Very good food and service in the cafe vis-a-vis, nice green lanes off the road. Traffic seems loud at times, but maybe that's personal sensitivity. We had a great time.

I stumbled upon Villa Albori by chance, and it was a beautiful discovery. The owners are welcoming, kind, and helpful, you really feel at home. Mrs. Fulvia is always attentive to ensure that everything goes well, she gave me valuable advice and suggestions on things to do and see in the surroundings. The house is a historical residence, a "maison de charme", formerly the villa of the late 19th-century Habsburg bourgeoisie, now completely renovated and very well furnished, with taste and attention to detail. The room was perfect, in my case with direct access to the garden, as well as - as usual - from inside the house. Breakfast is truly rich and abundant, and homemade delicacies are not lacking (sweet and savory cakes, jams). The place is peaceful, you can relax in the beautiful garden surrounding the villa, and there is also a swimming pool, a really nice added value to rejuvenate after a day of walks and excursions. The house is located in the center of Opicina, a village in Trieste, away from the chaos of the city center, but very well-served (restaurants, shops). And the center of Trieste can be reached in a few minutes by bus. It is evident how much the owners care and strive for the well-being of their guests, and the result is undeniable. In short, it is absolutely recommendable, and worth returning to.

I discovered Villa Albori by pure chance and I must say it was a stroke of luck! This beautiful Habsburg villa from the 1800s was restored a few years ago by Mr. Franco and Mrs. Fulvia, who live there and manage it with care and love. The classic style of the room furnishings takes us straight back in time, but the real strength is everything around it: a large garden with lots of greenery where you can have breakfast, take a walk, or read a book, a well-equipped pool with a solarium, well-designed spaces to be enjoyed privately or shared with other guests. And then there are them, Franco and Fulvia, who truly treat you as welcome guests from the very first moment. The breakfast, in addition to the usual products you can find at a breakfast, also includes fresh delights placed warm on our table by the lady (crispy bread, tart, croissant, a savory strudel!). The kindness of the family, always present and never invasive, was greatly appreciated by me and my partner. We stayed only two nights and we really relaxed a lot, to the point that for an afternoon we preferred not to go out to visit Trieste and enjoy the tranquility by the pool at Villa Albori. There isn't much in the surroundings, it's a small hillside village-quarter near Trieste, but the city is easily reachable both by car (8 minutes) and by public transport (there is a bus stop right next to the villa, with parking spaces for cars). Too bad we couldn't take a ride on the historic Opicina tram, which has its terminus in front of the villa: during our stay, the service was suspended. But on this, Mr. Franco and Mrs. Fulvia couldn't do anything about it! :D For everything else, they were perfect. Definitely worth a return visit, highly recommended.

We stayed at Villa Albori for 4 nights. The villa's location is excellent, short distances on foot or by bike in the Carso, the bus stop to Trieste in front of the house, overall a quiet location, nice bars and restaurants in town. But all this is accompanied by the charming and friendly welcome of Fulvia, Franco, Martina and Cristina. Patiently and courteously, they will provide you with information on any questions you may have as a guest in the area. They can read every desire from your eyes. A highlight is the breakfast with ham, sausage, homemade jams, muesli, juices. The crowning glory are Cristina's cakes, the 'house pastry chef'. We felt like part of a big family, so we hope to be our guests at Villa Albori soon.
