Description

After our first experience as hosts with "Il Viandante di Trieste" (you can read the reviews on Booking) we decided to embark on this new adventure.

In an historic building sponsored by the Fine Arts and built in 1855 on a project by the architect Giovanni Degasperi, we have the pleasure of hosting you at the "Fermata del Viandante". Three large suites of 40 squared meters with exposed beams and equipped with all comforts: private bathroom, kitchenette (sink, refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine with welcome pods); located on the third and top floor, served by the lift and with disabled access.

The splendid building, to note the wooden door with bas-reliefs from the 19th century and the facade with bay window, is a strategic starting point for visiting the center of Trieste; the nearby Piazza Goldoni is in fact one of the fundamental hubs of the city (buses: 01, 06, 10, 20, 36, 44, etc.), on foot instead in just 5 minutes you get to Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, the largest square in Europe overlooking the sea.

To visit the city, we provide a mini guide "home-made", where you will find both the unmissable addresses such as wine bars, restaurants, cafes and museums and the little secrets of this incredible territory of borders.

We are lovers of food and good wine and we can't wait to recommend you some excursions on the Karst in search of small local producers.

We almost forgot, even Joyce, a great "Viandante" (wayfarer), stopped, so don't miss it..

Nothing to object to, except for the owner's limited willingness to accommodate requests outside the rules. I asked for the IBAN to make a booking because I had lost my credit card; I was sent a link that did not allow the 5% discount that applies to credit card payments. We arrived at 17:30 and asked to leave our luggage in the corridor for a couple of hours after check-out at 10:01; we were charged €10 for the inconvenience.

Great location. Clean and very nice apartment. It gets hot in summer, but with the air conditioner it's not a problem. The toilet is in a small room by the entrance and is separate from the shower, which is next to the bed, but this is not an issue, in fact it's better. However, there is no bidet or even a handheld bidet. The parking is a few minutes' walk away, it's paid, about €2 per hour, and covered. The host was extremely helpful and very kind, with 10/10 recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Excellent choice.

A nice studio apartment located in an attic of a historic building, the renovation is accurate and the furnishings are modern and tasteful, the equipment is adequate and the manager is kind, the location is very convenient to the train station and to visit the city center, with supermarkets and small restaurants nearby. A recommendation, bring earplugs if you are not used to city noise, because being close to the center there is always something making noise, traffic, people shouting, ambulances, etc. P.S. it is not a bed & breakfast, so no breakfast or room service.

La casa era perfetta, vicina al centro, tutto come descritto. Il mio host era gentile e abbastanza disponibile. I liked the large size of the room, the modern furnishings, the fully equipped kitchen, the large shower, and the air conditioning. The central location and proximity to the station are also an advantage. This is an attractive, well-situated and well-furnished property, whose owner provided valuable advice for first-time visitors to Trieste, and also kindly and quickly let us back in when we had foolishly locked ourselves out. My only negative comment relates to the flat's suitability for those of advanced years, who will find it harder to get up from a mattress on the floor, and to navigate a flight of stairs between bed and bathroom.

Excellent welcome from the friendly Carolina at the apartment located in the attic of a historic building, with the staircase that belonged to a vanished theater, it already immerses you in a Belle Époque atmosphere. The room is spacious and well renovated, equipped with everything needed for a short stay and also well air-conditioned. The area is convenient to reach the historic center and Portovenere on foot, parking is a short distance near the hospital. The double bed is super comfortable, the sofa bed for two is not the best but acceptable. Impeccable cleanliness everywhere. The only small flaw, the absence of a bidet, sorry I had to say it. Even the communication and initial agreements were simple and immediate. I recommend this B&B to everyone, couples and families.
