Description
For an unforgettable vacation in a rural village, surrounded by the ancient forest of Tarvisio, to engage in sports or relax in front of the beautiful panorama of the Julian Alps.

A bit of history.

The B&B is located in the attic of a fortified barracks that, in the 1930s, hosted the Border Police and then, until the 1970s, the Alpine Rescue of the Finance Guard.

Carefully renovated in 2002, it has preserved some of the characteristic elements of the fortification, such as the two pentagonal defense towers, the entrance gate, and the thick steel armored windows with peepholes for shooting with rifles and heavy machine guns.

Today
No more shooting and borders are just a memory.

Don't miss the ascent to Mount Lussari, on foot or by cable car, with its 360° panorama of the peaks of the 3 borders; the forests of the Tarvisio forest to explore on foot or by mountain bike; the easy climbs to the Alpine huts, starting points for the many ascents that the Julian Alps offer to the most experienced and passionate mountaineers.

All ten for this beautiful structure just outside the center of Tarvisio, in a quiet and very panoramic position. Practically a small suite available, with very kind and helpful managers. Good Italian breakfast and very clean room and bathroom. Really all positive, so much so that we would like to come back!

We stayed 2 nights at this B&B, definitely different from the usual as it is located inside a historic venue previously used as a barracks. Splendid room located on the top floor, mostly made of wood with a superb view of the Julian Alps! Enzo and Angelina are extremely courteous, always ready to give advice on places to visit, restaurants for dinner, and must-see itineraries! Very good and abundant breakfast, I would say absolutely recommended!

A wonderful stay at Angelina and Enzo's! The 'room' is much larger than it seems: a large room, a small alcove for a separate bed, a table/teapot area and a bathroom. Everything is very cozy and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic. We can't wait to come back!

We have been vacationing in Valcanale for years and we thought we knew everything by now, but we discovered this new little corner of paradise. An oasis of peace with breathtaking views of the Mangart and Jof Fuart groups. A former barracks expertly and tastefully renovated, nestled in the upper part of a large gently sloping meadow. The wooden room is spacious, comfortable, and meticulously cared for. The breakfast is abundant and rich in homemade products. The hosts are very kind and always available to provide information on excursions, gastronomy, and local folklore. Absolutely recommendable.
