Located in the heart of Valtaro, ground porcini mushrooms, the B&B Palazzo Filagni offers a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Housed in a former stronghold of medieval origins, has recently been renovated, retaining period features. Stone roofs, ceilings with wooden beams, old courtyard in the center of the building with stone oven, a barn, the barn and the wine-cellars / stables once. Coming to Palace Filagni you feel like taking a step back in time.
The bed and breakfast has 3 double bedrooms, also single use, of which 2 have an extra bed The rooms are spacious and comfortable, tastefully decorated with furniture salvaged and restored.
Here you will have the opportunity to relax, there are outdoor tables, a hammock, the rooftop pool and large green area ideal for an enjoyable stay.
Breakfast is served in a large room on the first floor, but there is the opportunity to enjoy your 'breakfast' outside.
The B&B Palazzo Filagni boasts a convenient location, just minutes from the motorway A15 in an isolated and quiet, and in less than an hour to get to the Ligurian Sea and the beautiful Cinuqe Terre.
Also for those who are fond of itnerari and walk here in Valtaro find what you were looking, we are close to Lagoni, the Passo della Cisa, and the many castles and medieval hamlets famous (Bardi Castle, Castello di Compiano, Torrechiara...).
For those who are fond of mushrooms should know that in September and October to BorgovaldiTaro, Albareto Bedonia and there is the festival of porcini mushroom Dop and many other local products to taste.

I am Ilario Mussi, the manager of the B&B Palazzo Filagni since April 2017.
I am a retired surveyor and the owner of this ancient fortified house, which I personally purchased in the 1990s and restored. The B&B was opened in June 2011 by my daughter Caterina, who managed it for five years.
The B&B Palazzo Filagni has become a highly appreciated place for tourists passing through Valtaro, as well as an ideal place to spend short vacations.
Ivana and I will be happy to welcome you and show you the peculiarities of this ancient place, as well as provide useful advice for exploring the surrounding area.

In the municipality of Valmozzola, just 40 km from Parma and a few minutes' drive from Berceto and the Cisa Pass, our bed and breakfast is located along the Taro valley road, only 2 km from the A15 highway exit.
Continuing on the highway, you can reach the Ligurian Sea and the beautiful Cinque Terre in less than 40 minutes.
The B&B has been created from an ancient 1400s safe, probably belonging to the Pallavicino family of the Este dynasty. In 1472, Duke Francesco Sforza of Milan granted the fiefdom of Valmozzola to his nephew Lodovico Sforza Fogliano, who took possession of the Matogna Palace, the former name for this area. Afterwards, the name changed to Filagni, from "filagn," which in the Parmesan dialect indicates rows of grapevines.
Continuing on the highway, you can reach the Ligurian Sea and the beautiful Cinque Terre in less than 40 minutes.

We recharged our batteries and spent some wonderful days at Palazzo Filagni. Very easy to reach and equipped with all the services we needed. The owners are fantastic and very attentive to the needs of the customers. Special mention for the excellent homemade cakes that were there for breakfast. We will definitely return one day!

Very beautiful location, easily reachable from the highway. Buildings renovated very well. All around hills and meadows. Silence and peace. We were greeted by some deer. Room and bathroom very spacious and well kept.

Large spaces very well maintained, peace and tranquility, the ideal place to slow down the pace and 'breathe'. The managers are very pleasant and helpful people. We had already been there, we will definitely return.

Il posto al borgo ristrutturato è un sogno. Le camere sono decorate con molto gusto e amore. Abbiamo apprezzato molto il silenzio delle colline e la poca distanza dalla città e anche la piscina, in questi giorni caldi.
Quello che a noi mancava, siamo Svizzeri, era il pane fresco la mattina ma, a parte questo, siamo stati molto bene al Palazzo. Un vero paradiso terrestre dove si possono dimenticare le preoccupazioni di tutti i giorni.
Grazie ad Ivana ed Illario che erano molto attenti alle esigenze e al benessere dei ospiti. Ci ritorneremo.

Peccato esserci stati solo per una notte. Posto da sogno fuori dal tempo, un connubio tra storia e relax.
Splendida la struttura, ottima la piscina anche se non abbiamo potuto usufruirne causa la temperatura.
I proprietari molto ospitali e disponibili. Posto consigliatissimo per chi voglia un momento di relax lontano dalle solite mete.

Palazzo Filagni was perfect for what we needed during our trip and a great value for the money! Located conveniently a few minutes away from the A15 (aka E33) highway it was easy to find by following GPS directions and signs. We used it as a base to visit nearby towns and villages of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, as well as the beautiful Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park.
Palazzo is in a charming old villa on the side of a hill, offering a panoramic view of the surroundings. Our room was clean and spacious, though a bit oddly set up, probably because of how old the building is. The standard breakfast offered is bread with jam, cereal, cake, and coffee/tea. However, my wife has Celiac disease, which ruled out most of these items for her. When we requested some gluten-free options for my wife Illario was very generous to offer us ham, cheese, and eggs, and also went out and purchased gluten-free crackers and cakes. He was also very helpful in suggesting nearby places to visit. Even though he did not speak much English and we knew only a few words of Italian, we managed to communicate just fine.
All in all, if we need a place to stay in the area, we'll be staying at the Palazzo again.

Una piacevolissima scoperta a poca distanza dalla città per chi vuole sfuggire all'afa anche per un solo weekend. Ci si rigenera nella bellezza e nella pace di un luogo magico recuperato in modo magistrale dal padrone di casa Ilario, coadiuvato nella gestione dalla preziosa e simpaticissima Ivana prodiga di consigli e torte deliziose. Ci rivedremo di certo.

Dimora storica incantevole, sapientemente ristrutturata e curata in ogni dettaglio.
Accoglienza calda e clima familiare molto apprezzato.
Adatta per le famiglie con bambini per lo splendido spazio verde, ma anche per le coppie in cerca di un po' di romanticismo.
Assolutamente da consigliare.
