Le Stanze di Sara is a really charming B&B: a great location for easily reaching, on foot and by public transport, the various neighborhoods of Bologna. The entrance under the porticoes opens onto a delightful garden where peace and tranquility reign, making you feel immediately at home. The room, kitchen and bathroom were all spotlessly clean, fresh, new, comfortable and quiet. Sara and her husband are delightful, discreet and attentive. Excellent stay.

The breakfast was a bit limited in terms of variety (croissants, muffins and a couple of pieces of fruit), and the single beds were a bit small. Otherwise, the place is quiet, well located, and the manager is pleasant.

I had a good stay. The property is in an excellent location for reaching the city center. Via S. Felice is charming, with many shops and bars. I had to travel to the Paladozza often; the location was very convenient. Honestly, I expected breakfast to be a bit different, with homemade products. But overall it was a nice experience.

Excellent property, located in a strategic position for getting around the center without a car. Clean, spacious and bright, the room is located on the second floor of a lovely building within a courtyard and overlooks it with a small balcony accessible from the room. Courteous and helpful, Sara and her husband are warm and welcoming people.

Sara was a wonderful host. We loved all the greenery around the property and our room was very cute.

Great location. The room is not large but tidy and air-conditioned. The host was very responsive to requests, although he does not speak English. We relied on our cell phones for communication.

Very clean, comfortable and bright room. Good air conditioning. Although the bathroom was not in the room, that was not a problem because it was just across the corridor and for total private use. The access to the shared kitchen was a nice thing and the breakfast was reasonable (coffee, tea, yogurts, jam, and butter and packed mini pastries and treats). The location of the flat is central and convenient for folks like myself attending the Cine Ritrovatto Festival. The street had massive tram works underway just like many other streets in Bologna at the time I stayed, but because the B&B is tucked away in an internal patio, that didn't cause any problems. The host was very helpful and let me store the luggage after checking out and helped me with directions to the police station in a stressful situation when I lost my passport. Overall a very nice stay and will definitely recommend. Fair value for the money price.

Clean and cozy room with a great balcony.

Perfect stay! The B&B is cozy, clean, and well-kept. It is close to Piazza Maggiore, reachable on foot in a few minutes. From the central station, it is about a 20-minute walk but also reachable by bus no. 21 or 30 with a stop at Piazza Malpighi. We really had a great time. A special thanks to the host, who was extremely kind and attentive: he provided several breakfast options including fresh fruit and lactose-free milk, a gesture that was truly appreciated. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet stay with impeccable hospitality!

I don't usually leave negative reviews. But this is an exception as it was the most uncomfortable, emotionally and physically, stay I've ever had. In short, I do not recommend. For a long, boring tirade read on... I think this once may have been a very charming place to stay, hence the stellar reviews. But I think host has completely given up. Communication was poor. We were not told there was major construction going on street outside so that taxi could not take us down, at night, on our arrival. We were never told we would have to get buzzed through a poorly marked gate. We had to buzz twice (again at night). Once in the gate we were greeted with a long dark driveway/ portico. Finally, ahead in the darkness, we see a man, our host? We approach him, and yes, he's our host or her husband? He speaks no English, which is fine, but challenging as he tries to explain how we are to operate the 3 gates and 4 keys he's giving us. We then have to haul our luggage up 3 flights of stairs (this would have been nice to have communicated in the listing) to a large, but very tired, overly decorated room (you couldn't even open the bathroom door without hitting the oversized dresser). It WAS clean, except the grimy door jams. The only toiletries provided was a small bottle of shampoo. The bed was hard. The pillows harder. The bath towels large, but very thin and scratchy (my husband actually liked them). The lovely balcony, which sold me on this inn, was overgrown and the chairs had no cushions, rendering it useless. The kitchen room had a fridge stocked with juice, water, and yogurt (nice). Coffee supplies were provided. And some very dry looking cereal and prepackaged, unappealing pasteries. We knew instantly we would be having breakfast at a cafe in town. I was never shown the charming patio in the photos, we never saw the man/host again. The real host never did introduce herself to us, check in on us, ask if we needed anything... and they call this is a bed & breakfast? We ultimately left a day earlier than planned. We were still charged for the full time, which was a expected. But in previous messages I asked they not use the credit card on file to avoid foreign transactions fees. Since they did not know how to change it online, said it would be taken care of when we checked out. When I messaged them (because we couldn't seem to catch them at home) that we were leaving early they almost instantly charged my card on file.

The bed and breakfast is a 10-minute walk from the center of Bologna and for those arriving by train, it is 4 stops from the bus (n. 21 or 30 with a stop at Piazza Malpighi). We were welcomed with courtesy and smiles by the owner. The room was very clean. The kitchen was also very clean and had everything needed for breakfast. Perhaps the only note: I would have preferred fresh products and not packaged ones, but let's say that courtesy, availability, and cleanliness were not lacking, so I would say everything was great! A big thank you also for allowing us to keep our luggage in the room for the entire day of our departure at no extra cost. That is not little, it is not taken for granted.... Thank you so much! We will return soon.

Sara is a warm, friendly host. She was very responsive to email enquiries. The accommodation is comfortable and in a quiet residential area, 20 mins walk from the two tours.

Excellent property very close to the center but in a quiet location away from traffic. We stayed in the Romantic room, with a bathroom, very beautiful and comfortable with a lovely terrace. The owners were very kind. Mrs. Sara, a fantastic person, gave us useful advice for visiting the city and was very available for any requests. Highly recommended.

The place is ideal because it is located in a central area and, at the same time, it is private and quiet. There are two covered parking lots nearby: one, almost adjacent, on Via San Felice (cons: 40 euros per day and limited opening hours). The other parking lot is a 7-minute walk away, on Via Riva del Reno 2 (pros: maximum 20 euros per day). The kitchen is equipped, allowing you to prepare any dish, including breakfast. In addition, there are drinks provided by the owners. The manager is very welcoming and friendly. There is a soft and chatty little cat present.

Nice accommodation, very central yet quiet, especially the room with the terrace is great. Attentive landlords, super location, there is a lot going on in the parallel street and you can find many bars and restaurants!

The location is a wonderfully green oasis of quiet set well back from the street and yet very central to visiting all sites on foot. We stayed in the Romantica room and had a beautiful view overlooking the private gardens. Above all, the hosts, Sara and Alessandro, were very welcoming, helpful and available. Thank you very much.

We were warmly welcomed at Le Stanze di Sara, with whom we were able to talk, as well as with other members of her family, which was very pleasant and does justice to the principle of Bed and Breakfast. The room and the private bathroom were very comfortable, the accommodation was very well located, and it is a big plus to be able to cook on site. I recommend without hesitation.

My husband and I stayed at 4 different properties from bed-and-breakfast.it during our 2 week visit to Italy. We loved all 4 of them. Le Stanze di Sara was a short walk to the historic center and close to shopping, restaurants, etc. It was set back from the street so very quiet. You can walk anywhere you need or hop on one of many nearby buses. Hosts were lovely and the property is extremely clean which is very important to me. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality and location. Breakfast was set out in a kitchen that guests have access to anytime so you could store personal food items in the refrigerator and help yourself to water, yogurt, etc. anytime of day. Highly recommend!

Sweet and cozy place with an excellent location. Easily walkable to the historic center, easy to get to the trains too. The hosts are charming and kind. The rooms are cozy and clean. Breakfast is basic and self service, which was fine for me. I stayed in a room with french doors facing the garden, very sweet. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit.

Everything worked perfectly and smoothly. The breakfast is rather simple, but one must also say that Italians are not the biggest breakfast eaters. This must always be kept in mind.

Quiet, clean property, easy to walk to the city centre with a kind host. The room itself was very cute and well kept.

A wonderful B&B in the center of Bologna. The owners are very kind and available, discreet and truly friendly. The room is as big as in the pictures, the bathroom is spectacular, everything is clean and we really felt at home. If I can, I suggest adding more local products to the breakfast, it would have been truly exceptional to eat something typical.

The location, within walking distance to the center, in a lively, stimulating, yet quiet environment, was perfect. Our room with a lush green balcony rightfully carries the attribute "romantic". I loved my stay at Le Stanze di Sara. The location is great, about a 10-minute walk to the historic center and 1 minute from one of the highest-rated trattorias in Bologna. I stayed in the Romantic Room and absolutely loved the balcony with the plants. The hosts were very kind and helpful. I hope to return to Bologna again someday and would most certainly stay here again.

Charming room with balcony and private bathroom, 10 minutes from the town center. A bit noisy due to other rooms on the same floor. The breakfast is disappointing: prepacked toast, jams, prepacked croissants filled with jam, no butter, cheese, or anything savory. Bad coffee. Only the yogurt was decent. On the second day, we had breakfast outside.

Overall, we had a good experience. The Le Stanze di Sara property is practically impeccable and is located in the tranquility of an inner courtyard that makes it seem far from traffic. We slept well, apart from the first night, when another guest decided to shower in the middle of the night (the bathroom of the other room was behind ours and the walls/doors do not isolate well). The managers were precise, available, and discreet, always remaining very present and helpful. However, there are small functional flaws and some details that with a little more attention would make the stay truly carefree. We stayed in the Romantic room, with a wonderful terrace with flowers and plants (perhaps the tree deserves a pruning, to ensure that the balcony is truly panoramic as advertised on the website). Some things are small, for example, the bathroom door is really small and, hitting against the furniture, does not allow comfortable access. Also, the slightly neglected state of the bathroom, which deserves a refresh and lacked those details that make the difference (the toilet seat was loose on the first day - it was then fixed - and the shower did not drain well). What perhaps surprised me is the absence of services that I have always considered basic in a property (bed remaking - perhaps depends on B&B choices? - and daily trash emptying that was not done throughout the stay (3 nights). The presence of a high chair would have made our stay much easier. A final comment on breakfast, which is really basic and self-service in preparation. I find that it does not do justice to the potential of this B&B. Everything is packaged (toast, snacks, etc.) and comes from large distribution brands. From what I have heard, these are still rules stemming from the covid era. Assuming that is the case, even though I have been to other B&Bs after the pandemic without a hint of plastic and packaging, it would take very little to offer local products (even packaged) that make the start of the day less "industrial". Also here, we did not lack anything, but with a slightly more local proposal, an extra touch would be achieved. In short, a positive stay that allowed us to visit Bologna serenely, but with too many details that would have made the difference in reconsidering this property for future stays.

Unfortunately, the breakfast, except for the coffee, didn't suit us. Nothing fresh and only sweet things. But we can definitely recommend the accommodation.

I found myself well with my wife, the only thing that was not good was the TV, the signal is very weak, otherwise it's a nice and welcoming structure, the owners are very kind and very courteous.

Accommodation was well placed to see Bologna - central but very quiet. Lots of lovely birdsong! Room was spacious with nice private balcony (though tree might need to be cut back a bit???). Host was very warm and helpful. He doesn’t speak English but we communicated very well with Google Translate. There is a small shared kitchen where you can help yourself to cereals, yogurt, and bread for breakfast. The property is set back from the street and through a gate, so it's not immediately obvious where it is, but Alessandro will welcome you and show you how to access everything.

Very good value in a quiet position but close enough to the centre.

I had a good time on my first trip to Bologna. The manager is very kind, the room was perfect, I always found breakfast ready to start my tours. Recommended for those who want to find a quiet place in the wonderful Bologna.

A corner of peace in the middle of greenery, behind Piazza Maggiore. Clean, welcoming. It has a very well-equipped kitchen for every need: coffee (both moka and electric machine), tea, herbal teas, juices, yogurt, corn flakes. The room where I stayed has a French door with flowers on the balcony and a view of the garden and the ancient part of Bologna. The owner is a dear person. Kind, helpful, and discreet. You won't find better. I recommend this property to everyone.

I often go to Bologna and every time it has always been difficult to find a place where to stop with tranquility and above all have the comforts that we always look for when we are traveling, both for work and for pleasure. However, I have finally found my fixed point every time I return to Bologna. The house, the bedrooms, and the bathrooms are very clean, a rarity for frequent travelers. The location is central, allowing you to move around easily on foot and is well equipped with everything you need. What a tranquil, lovely setting. We were made to feel at home. Very clean, roomy, convenient accommodations in a neighborhood with good access to excellent restaurants, near the center. Lots of stairs to climb, but we were fine with that. Many keys to manage, but that was "fun." Breakfast was plentiful, and good quality. We'd stay there again.

Excellent welcome. Accommodation, in the city center, but in a tree-lined private courtyard so quiet. Well served, restaurants right next door, 10 minutes walk from the historic heart. It's really perfect. Well-equipped kitchen.\nOnly small downside: the accommodation is located, as in most large Italian cities, in a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) so be careful not to enter this area otherwise fine. You have to find a parking. We found one, cheaper than those nearby, for 5€ per day: Parking Tanari Via Tanari, 17. Then you have to take bus 29 (2€ per ticket) which drops us off nearby (stop Ugo Bassi or Porta Lame).

The Bed and Breakfast "Le Stanze di Sara" is a structure located in the wonderful historical center, surrounded by a green oasis where looking out the window rejuvenates the soul. It is a short distance from the main squares of Bologna so there is no need to move around by car or public transport (very efficient). I spent a few days but they were enough to enrich my cultural baggage. Surely my wife and I will return to Bologna hoping to stay again in this splendid dwelling. A compliment to the managers and owners of this structure who, besides being friendly people, are of a unique kindness.

Here at Le Stanze di Sara, you are well, here you are well! I was here for the World choir meeting Various Voices, and was thankful for a quiet place to return to, after the milling and the bustle of the festival. It is a pleasure to stay in the spacious room, looking out to the quiet courtyard and garden, shielded from the noise and traffic of the city. The bed is new and comfortable, in the morning, you hear the birds singing (in Italian of course), in hot weather, thanks to the trees, the air from the garden is cool and soothing. The bathroom and kitchen are clean and well equipped, breakfast gives you all you need for a good start in a perfect 'Bologna'-day! The location is convenient, around the corner is via del Pratello with restaurants and little shops, where the locals go, and the shopping street of via Ugo Baldi, with Piazza Maggiore at its end, is just a short walk away. Sara and her husband are lovely hosts, attentive and caring, Sara has good advice of what to do and see in the city, and she can give you some ideas about highlights all around Italy. When coming back to Bologna one day, i am sure to stay at Sara's stanza! Thank you, Sara, and goodbye!

Relaxing place and excellent hospitality from the owners, convenient being inside a courtyard on a central arched street 5/10 minutes walk from piazza grande. The only jarring note concerns breakfast, too basic to feel on vacation. No big deal, we opted for a pampering breakfast at a nearby bakery.

My stay at Le Stanze di Sara was excellent from all points of view.

The landlady is very kind and caring, she has a big heart. The room is cozy and comfortable, and during the night you can enjoy a pleasant quiet. However, in the morning it can be a bit noisy due to ongoing cleaning, which does not make it suitable for those who need to concentrate or want to stay in the room to rest. The Italian breakfast is delicious, but unfortunately it does not include organic or ecological products, and it comes with a large number of plastic packaging. To reach the accommodation from the station you need to walk a bit, but you can take the bus to reduce the distance to travel. In addition, the accommodation is located on the fourth floor without an elevator.

Central location just a stone's throw away from the main attractions and nightlife. Clean and spacious room. Excellent and plentiful breakfast. A special mention for the two owners, very kind and always available, thank you for making us feel at home.

The b&b is located on a central street in Bologna, a 10-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, in an apartment on the third floor of a building located inside a courtyard. Since there is no elevator, one must climb stairs, which can be a disadvantage for those with mobility issues or traveling with heavy luggage. The rooms are very beautiful, bright, and equipped with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms where my mother, sisters, and I stayed had a private bathroom with access from the common corridor, which we already knew from reading the b&b's website, so, no problem. Due to covid, breakfast was not served in the morning, so we had to prepare it ourselves using the kitchen where necessary items were available. We also had to wash dirty cups and make the beds. Now, considering that all covid-related restrictions for accommodation facilities have long been lifted, it is unclear why this b&b still considers them in effect. Even if wanting to continue to respect these restrictions, since we were not the only guests in the property, it would have been more appropriate for someone from the b&b to serve us breakfast or, if not possible, provide us with vouchers for consumption at a bar. The same goes for the bedrooms and bathrooms that were never cleaned during our stay. Despite these observations, the stay at the b&b was pleasant. The managers, moreover, are truly friendly people. Just think that before departure, while waiting for the taxi to the airport, the owner gave us the opportunity to eat a sandwich in the garden below, also offering us a bottle of wine. A gesture that we greatly appreciated. In conclusion, our overall assessment of the b&b is positive although with some reservations.

Excellent accommodation, in the city center, but in a private tree-lined courtyard so quiet. Beautiful quality structure like all the equipment. Large room, high ceiling, two windows. Beautiful decoration. Well served, and restaurants right next door. It's really perfect. Well-equipped kitchen.

Very nice place and hosts. The property feels very safe behind the gates. The breakfast was not as described. It was absolutely not delicious. Dry biscuits and everlasting muffins stood on the table all the time. But we could use the capsule machine for coffee and there was yogurt in the fridge.

Here nothing is missing to fully experience the atmosphere of the magnificent historic center of Bologna and feel like inhabitants of this beautiful city for a few days. The welcome is warm, simple, and sincere. When you leave, you think of coming back soon.

Le Stanze di Sara is a real gem in Bologna! Beautiful room with a magnificent balcony and garden view. All this in the heart of the city. Very quiet. You can visit the whole city on foot from this location. The hosts are so friendly and give you a real welcome feeling. Like staying with family. I would love to go back there!

The B&B is located in a very beautiful setting surrounded by greenery, quiet, 10 minutes from Piazza Maggiore. The landlady is very kind and helpful. The room and bathroom were small but clean and equipped with everything; the other rooms are larger but with the bathroom outside the room (always private), we preferred to have the internal bathroom. Breakfast can be done independently with a kitchen and microwave available; excellent homemade cake.

I stayed with Sara and Alessandro for two weeks while I was studying in Bologna. \n\nIt was such a pleasure to return to the garden and the terrace in the evening to chat with Sara and Alessandro after a long day of studying and sightseeing in the heat of Bologna. \n\nThey are both more than willing to help with any requests you may have. \n\nThe apartment is extremely well appointed and Sara provides beautiful home made cakes and yoghurt, fruit, fruit juices and croissants which are available at any time. I have no hesitation in recommending Le Stanze di Sara to anyone who needs accommodation in Bologna.

The hosts were extremely warm and friendly, and our room was very clean and comfortable. We particularly loved the beautiful terrace, which was all for us! The property is very well located in the city center but situated at the back of a building complex surrounded by trees and birds, giving you the impression of being in complete nature.

I stayed at New Year's with my boyfriend, we were very happy with the choice made. Excellent welcome from the owners, the room is clean and welcoming, breakfast is also plentiful and with a varied selection. I recommend it very willingly!

I stayed with my husband for just one night in this B&B, in the room with bathroom and little terrace, everything very clean and well-kept, although not brand new, but wonderful, you feel a bit like at home, thanks to the hospitality and kindness of the managers who take care of every detail. Being in the historic center, there is no parking possibility, but a large multi-story parking lot is just a few hundred meters away where you can leave the car outside the restricted traffic zone. Positive experience, I recommend it.

Le Stanze di Sara is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast in a wonderful city. It is located in a very busy street in the center, but once you go through the gate, you come in a very pleasant and quiet garden, where you will find the Bed and Breakfast behind a second gate. We had a good, very clean room with a large quiet balcony full of plants and flowers, and full shade. The whole house is decorated in a very personal style, with many pictures and little statues. The host Sarah, her husband, and son are very friendly and hospitable. Parking is very difficult in Bologna: you can park for a reasonable fee at 10 minutes walking distance in the Parking Riva di Reno. In Bologna, you don't need a car: everything is within walking distance.

The B&B is located in such a charming corner that makes you forget you are in the center of Bologna. We would like to congratulate Sara Sabattini for her hospitality and kindness at the 'Le Stanze di Sara' property. She did EVERYTHING possible to ensure a pleasant stay: great attention to our needs (breakfast, water, fruits...). The 'Romantica' room is stunning and very comfortable with a flowered balcony overlooking the rooftops of Bologna. This magnificent view and the very convenient location allowed us to get around without the need for public transport. I have already sent a review from Italy but it was not accepted because it didn't come from France. We returned from Italy just a few days ago, hence the delay in sending these comments. If we have the opportunity to return to Bologna, we would book a room with Sara without hesitation.

We came back for the third time and had a great time, the hosts are very kind and meet every need.

The owners are polite and caring. The double room, with bathroom and terrace where we stayed, is spacious and comfortable. Kitchen, fridge, and microwave available. Full breakfast, plentiful and suitable for all tastes, also enriched by a nice cake prepared by Mrs. Sara. We will definitely come back. We highly recommend it!

My husband and I had an exciting weekend in the 'Le Stanze di Sara' suite. We gladly highlight the strengths of this enchanted place, in the heart of the city: the tranquility of the room, being in an inner courtyard, very pleasant reception, perfect freedom of movement even in the kitchen, amazing bed with Dorelan mattress and the en-suite bathroom with a large shower. Fantastic bed linen set. And lastly, a delightful self-service breakfast on the terrace.

Delightful apartment inside a quiet and green courtyard in the center of Bologna. We were a couple and in the best room, the one with ensuite bathroom and terrace overlooking the rooftops. Comfortable and spacious room, as well as the bathroom. Kind and hospitable owners. Industrial and self-managed breakfast, only downside that no cleaning was done between the first and second night. Otherwise, everything was perfect! Highly recommended!

Our stay at Le Stanze di Sara was short but really pleasant. The property is located a few steps from the center of Bologna, while remaining in a quiet and peaceful area. We stayed here with a friend for Cosmoprof, the managers are very welcoming and friendly, the room is very elegant and clean. The kitchen on the same floor is available and always well stocked, especially for breakfast. When I return to Bologna, I will definitely book here again!

Magnificent place for location, tranquility, and beauty of the environments. Important to have free parking in a closed garden. The manager is very kind, caring, attentive to every customer need, and at the same time, reserved. Absolute freedom to manage the breakfast schedule. Very satisfied, we will return to Bologna and will stay there again. Not only that: we will also recommend the structure to demanding acquaintances and friends.

Located on a central and very quiet street, ideal for visiting Bologna on foot. The rooms are very nice and spotless, and it was a pleasure to wake up in the morning and find a different homemade cake from the sweet Sara every day. In this B&B, you feel at home.

The rooms are very beautiful, the cleanliness deserves a ten and praise, the location is strategic for those who want to experience the city. A thank you to Sara for all the cakes she prepared. Highly recommended.

You can access it from the porticoes of Via San Felice and enter a garden full of greenery in the very center of Bologna. The room was very beautiful and tastefully furnished, the place is very quiet and peaceful. I felt really good there, thanks also to the exquisite hospitality and availability of the managers. What can I say, one more reason to return to Bologna.
