La Meridiana

It is a recently restored building situated a few hundred metres from Reggia di Colorno (to which it is linked by a cycle path) and near the junction of the bypass to the centre of the town. In a few minutes you can reach the
SPIP industrial areas of Parma, of S. Polo di Torrile and Casale Mezzani, the Fairs of Baganzola, the motorway entry of Parma, G. Verdi airport and the Po river. It is located in the centre of the best Emilian food-and-wine tradition, with its excellent products. It has 5 comfortably furnished and fully equipped 2/3 bedded rooms. Our guests can also rent a 4-bed flat in the attic with a living-room, with kitchenette, a double bedroom and private facilities.

It is a spacious sunny two-roomed flat, tastefully restored and furnished, suitable for both medium/long and short stays. The flat is air-conditioned and fitted with TV and modem connection Wi-Fi.

There is also a large park with high trees and a convenient car park on premises.

The large and sunny rooms, with balcony, have 2 or 3 beds and private facilities. They are furnished in a country style and are fitted with:

Guests can also take advantage of self-catering facilities in an air conditioned fully-equipped kitchen.

The park
A very large area, where you can spend moments of pleasant relax. The park will be your oasis of pure tranquillity…now close your eyes and forget the rest of the world.

The car park.

It is an internal area immediately next to the house which offers parking for 15 cars.

HOW TO REACH US.

For people coming from Parma:
Drive 6/7 km from the motorway exit of Parma; before the built-up area of S. Polo Torile, take the new bypass. Drive on for about 4 km and take the exit to Colorno-Torrile, driving right towards Colorno. After about 300 metres, you will see the yellow signs of La Meridiana Affittacamere on the left.

For people coming from Casalmaggiore:
Take the new bypass before Colorno and leave it after about 2 km, at the second exit of Colorno, driving left towards the town centre. After about 300 metres, you will see the yellow signs of La Meridiana Affittacamere on the left.

For both the rooms and the flat, prices include: electricity supply, hot and cold water, heating, weekly bedlinen service, biweekly change of fresh towels, daily cleaning, bed making, VAT, Internet Wi-Fi. A supplement for air conditioning is required.

COLORNO AND ITS ENVIRONS.

Colorno is a charming town located at the confluence of Lorno canal and the Parma stream. Its golden age was under the Farnese, Dukes of Parma, who chose it as their summer residence in the late 17th century, after which the town was named “Piccola Versailles” (Small Versailles). Its historic centre is dominated by the impressive Palace which has recently been fully restored and is now the seat of ALMA – Irtenational School of Italian Cuisine and of the University of Gastronomy founded by Slow Food. The Palace also hosts art exhibitions.

Tourists can walk in the Historic Garden next to the Psalace, which shows its old unique beauty thanks to recent restoration works. They can also visit the Aranciaia (the old greenhouse where the citrus trees of the Historic Garden were housed during the winter), the Cathedral of Santa Margherita, the Church of San Liborio, the Oratory of SS. Annunziata of Vedole and the Oratory of Copermio.

“Meridiana Affittcamere” is located a few hundred metres from the town centre, with its many places of historic and artistic interest, and is ideally situated for excursions to typical natural and environmental areas. Just a few kilometres away you can visit the LIPU Oasis and the basin on the Po river at Sacca, inside the wide high-water bed rich in poplar groves, wetland and self-grown vegetation. The bicycle touring route BiciParmaPo passes immediately near the building.

There are a lot of restaurants and “trattorie” where you can taste the famous salami, first of all Culatello of Zibello and Parma ham, as well as the well-known Parmesan cheese and delicious specialities of Parma cuisine.
