FondoFrancia is a B&B offering the weary traveller affordable and refined comfort.
Guests have in fact a wing of the house all to themselves with a separate access so as to ensure perfect privacy and freedom of movement.
The B&B is housed in a finely renovated historical Bolognese dwelling, already recorded in mid-nineteen century maps.
Nevertheless, upon passing through the old, evocatively rusty gate, the visitor is as if drawn back in time; the hustle, bustle and traffic congestion of nearby Via Emilia simply fades away, leaving the visitor with a sense of having landed in a quieter and gentler age.
Located in Bologna in proximity to the Airport, Maggiore Hospital, and the Ducati motorcycle factory, it is easily accessible from the beltway’s Fiera exit as well as from downtown Bologna, just a few bus stops away.
Guests are given the use of a spacious room appointed with a comfortable couch and a small table for working with the computer. The room is large enough to accommodate a kitchen nook where guests are free to heat themselves up some food or make a cup of tea. A private bathroom and independent access means they can come in at any time of night or day and truly make themselves at home.
A choice of teas (traditional and herbal), coffee, milk, barley-coffee, fresh fruit juices, home-made cakes and cookies, fresh bread, butter and home-made jams are standard fare at FondoFrancia’s breakfast table. Savoury breakfast with local sausage meats, cold cuts and cheeses available on request.
Breakfast is served in the house dining-cum-sitting room made all the more comfortable and cosy in winter thanks to an open hearth, while listening to the radio (if desired) and browsing through the abundant touring literature and visitor guides.
Frida, FondoFrancia’s hound-dog, is available, strictly on request and advance booking, for a friendly chat with guests on topics of mutual interest.
