Description
Constructed around 120 years ago on an ancient cluster of medieval houses in a location known as “Casalino, ” Corte Vecchi boasts a captivating history rich in culture and nobility. As early as 1656, it belonged to Count Angelo Francesco and Canon Don Carlo Angelo Gabbi, later becoming the property of the Count Giancarlo Montanaridi in 1750. Over the generations, the noblewoman Emilia Torrigiani, sister of Senator Luigi and first married to Gruau and then to Pavesi, emerged on the scene. It was her first husband, of French descent, who planted fine grape vineyards (sauvignon) on the surrounding hills and established a wine emporium. These pioneers, along with other French winemakers, ushered in a prosperous era for Parma's wine, which received international acclaim in London and Paris. One of the bottles produced during this time is displayed in the Wine Museum of Sala Baganza, one of the most intriguing food museums in the area.
After the wine production ceased, the large cellar was modified by adding an upper floor and converted into a residence, first sold to the Ceretti family from Spezia, and then purchased in 1939 by Mrs. Gina Ghezzi, the wife of the renowned Parma doctor, Professor Mario Vecchi. After being abandoned for a time, the property was skillfully renovated, preserving its hybrid style and dividing the chapel into three living units, now known as Corte Vecchi.
The Bertoli-Mandelli family opened the doors of Corte Vecchi as a B&B, providing an opportunity to relive its history, blending typical Emilian hospitality with the exclusivity of a prestigious location, adorned with frescoes yet intimate and authentic.
B&B Corte Vecchi is the perfect place to satisfy both visual and sensory experiences, welcoming both tourists and business travelers with a range of services and collaborations (from workstations to food and wine tours).
The three rooms, named after the history of Corte Vecchi, can accommodate up to 6 people. Each room has its own charm, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay in the park of the estate. From the romantic "Gruau" to the elegant "Suite Vecchi" and the cozy "Torrigiani, " every space is meticulously designed and offers all necessary comforts, including a delightful breakfast.

Everything was honestly amazing. The house and garden are beautiful, offering a peaceful and charming atmosphere. It is located in a very small, quiet town, right along the main road and close to the BIO winery Monte delle Vigne, with a church within walking distance. A special mention goes to the breakfast. It was outstanding: very high quality, abundant, and served in a beautifully decorated kitchen, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was also spotless and very well organized throughout our stay.

Very good value for money for this charming property. Very beautiful decor yet at the same time very comfortable, and we were well looked after by Romana, very kind and attentive, who also informed us about restaurants and things to do in the region and in Parma. There is just a bit of a drive to reach Parma, but by car it is no problem. We loved the very plentiful breakfast, and there is something for every taste. Really a very good address.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. It was a true pleasure meeting them and staying in their beautiful home. If I return to Italy, I would gladly stay here again. We have been going to Italy for 20 years and have often stayed in lovely hotels, B&Bs, and agriturismos. But Corte Vecchi was especially wonderful. It felt like visiting friends. Romana is a wonderful and helpful host. Her warmth is reflected in the decor and atmosphere of the house and garden. After a three-week vacation in Italy, a stopover with an overnight stay at Corte Vecchi is just what you need to start the journey home relaxed. The house is very quiet, despite its relative proximity to the highway, which allows for easy access, situated in a spacious park. In the morning, you are entertained by the chirping of various birds. The breakfast is excellent, fresh, and plentiful.

We had the most fabulous stay at Corte Vecchi. The property is stunning and the bedroom suite felt like something straight out of a glamorous magazine. Romana was a very kind and welcoming host especially with our 10 month old. She suggested a memorable restaurant nearby and phoned the chef directly to get us a table at late notice. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the region. Thank you!

I stayed two nights in this beautiful B&B. The owner Romana was very helpful and welcoming from the start! The room was very spacious, nice, and equipped with all comforts! The (shared) bathroom was very nice and clean. The breakfast, rich in both sweet and savory food, is in the kitchen at a single table, so you have the opportunity to share the moment with other people from the B&B. This moment was also nice! Parking space available. I recommend the place. If I were to return to that area, I would definitely come back!

I stayed with my daughter for two nights at Romana's. We had a really good time! The environment is very well cared for, warm and welcoming, super clean. The room has all the comforts and even more. The nights were very peaceful and quiet. The location of the house was perfect for us, along a communication road but tucked away, in the silence and tranquility of the countryside. Romana perfectly advised us on activities and restaurants in the area; the breakfast at her place was sumptuous in the beautiful kitchen of the house. Romana is a welcoming and caring host and made us feel at ease in a delightful way. The price is appropriate for the location, everything was perfect! It is a highly recommended stop, if we return to the area, we will definitely visit her again, hooray!

Our stay with Romana and her family was truly wonderful. Romana is an incredibly warm, loving, and welcoming person who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The house, which she decorated herself, is absolutely stunning. Every corner is thoughtfully designed with a love for interior, vintage, and color. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious and beautifully styled. The breakfast was outstanding, offering everything you could wish for, from sweet to savory, and more!
