San Donato-San Vitale is a Bologna neighborhood in the northeastern part of the city.
The name San Donato is derived from the church present in the vicinity of the Jewish Ghetto in the historical center of the city, and from the same road, the current Zamboni Street, which from Porta Ravegnana Square, passing through the same door, led to the north- east (represented by the municipalities of Granarolo, San Martino in Soverzano, Minerbio, Dugliolo and Molinella). Today's San Donato route retraces largely the ancient route.
There is a commercial railway stop (which for decades was the largest in Europe), the Bologna Fair and the Offices of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
