Description

Casa Munay is an independent villa from the early 1900s, completely restored in 2010, characterized by a large garden and numerous palm trees surrounding the property. It is easily accessible both from the highway, using exit 11 of the ring road, and from the Central Station by taking buses number 36 and 37.

Inside the property, it is possible to park your car. Reservation of the parking space is mandatory.

Casa Munay is located just 200 meters from Sant'Orsola Hospital and less than a 20-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, which is also easily accessible by bus number 14, with the bus stop right in front of the property.

The rooms are furnished in Balinese style and equipped with a TV, fridge, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. We have set up two rooms where guests can enjoy a coffee, tea, and some biscuits; meals can also be consumed in these rooms. Parking is available for a fee of €7 per day. Children under 2 years old are free if they sleep in the bed with their parents. A crib is available upon request.

The property can also be rented by groups of people or companies with the possibility of using a meeting room for a maximum of 25 people.

We stayed two nights at Casa Munay and we had a great time. We will recommend it. The lack of breakfast was not important for us because we had to leave very early in the morning. It was enough for us to be able to use the kettle and the espresso machine for coffee at any time.

Stayed for the first time and it was decent, but nothing to rave about. There were lots of positives, such as location, spaciousness of the apartment, and the easy check-in. We were given a coffee machine which was very nice from the manager. As for the not-so-great, the room smelled of damp (not strongly, but you could definitely smell it) due to the lack of good ventilation in the bathroom. Not much you can do about that; we kept the windows and terrace open as much as possible since the weather was nice. The fridge is old and all our food got frozen, even though we tried to adjust the temperature. There weren't enough pillows on the bed, the bedding in general can be improved by providing a duvet instead of using the bed cover as a duvet. There was also a sofa in the lounge/kitchen area which didn't look that clean. Shower couldn't be adjusted to height as it was loose/broken. Little things like that added up to make for an OK, good enough experience.

Near Sant'Orsola, specifically in pavilion 5, the place is welcoming, clean, and the room is quiet. Having been there about 4 years ago, I can say that trying more rooms, the result does not change. I have always felt good. The owner is helpful and very caring, I thank her very much for her commitment. Well served by public transport. Recommended without a shadow of a doubt.

For us, it was a return. Good location with frequent buses to the city center or alternatively a 30-minute walk under the porticoes. Nice structure as well as the room, quiet and well heated. Chiara, the owner, always kind. If we return to Bologna, we will always go back there.

This is the second time I have stayed at Casa Munay. The environment is very clean, well-kept, and tastefully furnished. The room is comfortable and quiet. The owner is very helpful. Its proximity to the Sant'Orsola Hospital makes it a strategically located facility for those who need to accompany a relative for treatment, but at the same time its location is close to the center of Bologna, which can be easily reached on foot or by public transport. Personally, I also had the opportunity, for a fee, to park my car inside the courtyard, I would say it is a great convenience. In the area, there are several restaurants where you can eat and even though breakfast is not served in the facility, you can use a kitchen area where you can prepare coffee or herbal teas as needed. The stay was very pleasant and I think I will not hesitate in the future to return to Casa Munay.

Casa Munay is a beautiful and welcoming structure, equipped with many strengths: the owner is kind and helpful; the rooms are comfortable and quiet; the sheets are very fresh (we stayed there in summer); the atmosphere is special due to the presence of objects and a poster related to the cult of angels. The furniture is very solid and essential, a bit mixed in style, perhaps they could be distributed a little better and have a more characteristic touch. The cleanliness is good, further improvable. Our room was a bit small for three people, but for one night it's okay, cleaning needs to be improved especially there was dust on the paintings, mirror, and spotlights on the side of the bed and then the pillows, one was too high I struggled to sleep.

The great structure I visited 12 years ago is very similar to back then, just a bit more technological, which is a plus. Even though breakfast was not included, I had coffee pods, water, and biscuits available in the room. Additionally, in the shared kitchen area, there were various types of herbal teas and tea. The property is easily accessible by public transport, well served in the surrounding area, and, finally, almost attached to the Sant'Orsola hospital.

Mancava di parcheggio interno per dei lavori che stavano facendo allo stabile, per cui ho avuto serie difficoltà a trovare in strada dei parcheggi liberi. Mi aspettavo che in 4 notti mi cambiassero almeno una volta gli asciugamani. Per il resto, struttura abbastanza confortevole.

Very nice villa with a convenient location. We had booked 3 rooms, my husband and I did not encounter any problems (double room with bathroom). The people occupying the double room with an external bathroom unfortunately had issues with the sink drain; the person in the single room could not shower as the ceiling prevented movements (attic). It's a pity, because if it had been reported at the time of booking, I wouldn't have booked that room for a person who is 1.80m tall.

Grazie della sua recensione. Considerando che la prenotazione l’ha effettuata direttamente lei e sul sito ci sono le foto di tutte le camere, mi stupisce leggere che non sapeva che la camera singola fosse in mansarda, dato che appunto, e’ stata scelta direttamente da chi ha effettuato la prenotazione e dopo aver guardato sicuramente le foto. Le foto rispecchiano esattamente le camere, e la doccia, al contrario di quello che scrive, ha un altezza superiore ai 2 metri e mezzo, quindi non capisco come sia stato impossibilitato a lavarsi ed inoltre e’ la prima volta che qualcuno segnala questo problema. Se qualcuno ha problemi di altezza, la camera in mansarda non e’ sicuramente indicata, ma non potete lamentarvi di non essere stati avvisati in fase di prenotazione, dato che la prenotazione l’avete fatta direttamente voi. Per lo scarico del lavandino, invece, se ci avessero segnalato immediatamente la cosa, avremmo cercato qualcuno che potesse risolvere in fretta il problema. Ci dispiace che alcuni non siano stati contenti del soggiorno, noi ci impegnano sempre affinché i nostri ospiti siano a loro agio e vadano via felici, ma quando qualcuno sceglie le camere in cui soggiorna, consultando appunto le foto, si da per scontato che siano consapevoli della camera che andranno ad occupare. Grazie comunque di aver soggiornato presso la nostra struttura.

Well-kept and clean room. Comfortable beds. Next to our room, there is a lovely small room where you can take a break and have a coffee. A little house near the Sant'Orsola hospital area. Area served by buses to reach the city center in a few stops. Or twenty minutes on foot and you are at the Asinelli Tower. Excellent pastry shop near the property.

Cleanliness, renovated and well-furnished environments, very pleasant and well-finished. I slept very well and my room overlooked a beautiful garden. Well soundproofed windows. Possibility to park the car internally by paying and I preferred this way to avoid the hassle of searching in the rain in the surrounding streets. A pastry bar for breakfast a few tens of meters away. However, the possibility in the common room to have coffee, tea, herbal teas. All well organized!

We have been to this property four times in two months due to, unfortunately, family problems that brought us to the hospital in Bologna. It is a house from the early '900s, well-kept, clean, and quiet. We toured inside, first in the apartment and then in three other rooms: each one more beautiful than the other, all comfortable and functional. The owners are very kind, wonderful people and available at any time and for anything. Convenient location for the Sant'Orsola and Malpighi hospitals but also for visiting the historic center which can be reached by walking about twenty minutes or by bus whose stop is in front of the house. There are also two very well-equipped kitchens available that we used only for breakfast. You can find a coffee machine with various pods, a kettle for tea and herbal teas, and biscuits. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Casa Munay, see you soon.

Lovely structure, cared for in every detail and with great taste. The room I was assigned was large and well heated, with a private bathroom equipped with everything necessary and a large shower. Very kind, professional, and very hospitable Chiara, the owner who, despite the unexpected breakfast, provides us customers with biscuits, coffee pods, tea, and various infusions. There is a large common room, furnished and equipped, with the use of a microwave and coffee machine. Excellent value for money. Furthermore, the structure is very close to the S. Orsola Hospital (5 minutes walk) and the area is well served with everything.

A small city hotel with lovely rooms, a cozy common room with tea, kettle, and coffee machine. The villa offers parking spaces in the courtyard for a small additional fee. One can sleep peacefully here and after a 20-30 minute walk, you are in the city center. Our conclusion: Highly recommended.

Great welcome. The manager very attentive and kind. The structure is in an excellent location, clean and quiet. I didn't have breakfast but in the kitchen there were possibilities to make tea or coffee and in the room I found biscuits and coffee. I will definitely return with pleasure.

Good facility for a short stay. The room may have been a bit small for three people, but we had requested accommodation without having to climb or descend stairs (one of us has some mobility issues) so maybe that room was the only one available. I have been in this property during a visit to the nearby Hospedale Sant'Orsola. It is Casa Munay, a hotel with many rooms. I was given room 25, which is upstairs, like an attic with a sloping roof. Watch out if you are tall.

A well-furnished, quiet, and clean residence, the staff is very kind. With a short walk, you can reach the city center. It has a private parking in a city where, as in any major urban center, parking has become almost impossible. I will come back.

Every time we go to Bologna for family reasons, we gladly stay in this structure, an ancient restored liberty villa with great taste, with pleasantly furnished rooms, quiet bedrooms and elegant and functional bathrooms. Excellent breakfast with cappuccino served at the moment, pastries and fresh fruit. Definitely recommended.
