Description
At last, we have arrived: the new rooms at Ca’ Giulia have opened their doors in the heart of Rigoso, nestled among the forests and peaks of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park.

This place has been created for those who wish to slow down, breathe in fresh air, and rediscover the joy of simple pleasures: the scent of wood, the tranquility of the mountains, the light pouring in through the windows of a historic 17th-century house, and the morning songs of the birds.

Each room reflects the surrounding mountains and retains the original character of the structure, featuring stone walls, ancient niches, and carefully restored details. The common areas, including a relaxation room with a historic vault, breakfast with local products, and opportunities for outdoor experiences, make your stay a complete immersion in the Apennine region of Parma.

Ca’ Giulia is much more than just a place to sleep: it is part of a community project aimed at revitalizing Rigoso, its spaces, traditions, and services. This small village has chosen to look forward while preserving its soul.

We invite you to join us in toasting to this new beginning, surrounded by trails, forests, silence, authentic flavors, and all the beauty of the Alta Val d’Enza.

A community that finds itself united to protect a country, a tradition, a history. This history belongs to each one of us, whether we were born here or this country has embraced us. Here, all the stories have intertwined to form a single narrative: our own. A new chapter for Rigoso: shutters rising once more, traditions being rediscovered, initiatives coming to life. Aromas and flavors, nature and culture.

Area city center
Rigoso is one of those places where time seems to follow the rhythm of nature. This small village in the Alta Val d’Enza, located on the border between Emilia and Tuscany, is nestled in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park, surrounded by woods, meadows, and ridges that offer breathtaking views in every season.

The area is ideal for those who wish to experience the mountains authentically, far from the hustle and bustle of tourism. The CAI trails wind through beech forests, quiet valleys, and ancient paths connecting the mountain villages, providing routes suitable for both seasoned hikers and those who simply want to take a leisurely stroll in tranquility. Renowned trails such as the Alta Via dei Parchi, the Sentiero dei Ducati, and the Via di Linari pass through here, perfect for exploring a territory that remains genuine and deeply tied to its traditions.

Nearby, you can find glacial lakes like Lago Ballano, Lago Verde, and Lago Paduli, which are perfect spots for relaxation, fishing, or organizing nature excursions. In the autumn, the woods become a haven for porcini mushrooms and woodland products, while winter transforms the landscape into a captivating scene ideal for snowshoeing and winter activities.

Rigoso also maintains a strong connection to the rural culture of the Apennines: local shops, farm-to-table products, honey, chestnuts, cheeses, testaroli, and specialties from Lunigiana reflect a culinary tradition that is simple yet rich in authentic flavors. The village is part of the UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve, a designation that highlights the balance between people, the environment, and local traditions.

Those who choose this area will find a true Apennine experience, characterized by silence, fresh air, starry skies, and small villages where hospitality is rooted in a sense of community and a desire to share their territory.
