Description

The structure, documented since the 15th century as a watchtower of the nearby Montechiaro castle, is located in the heart of the Val Trebbia.

The B&B is close to the convenient services of Rivergaro and Travo, and is only 20 km away from the medieval village of Bobbio. The surrounding landscape, wide and suggestive, also entices the laziest to pleasant walks and outdoor activities.

The province of Piacenza, and Val Trebbia in particular, are renowned for their historical, hiking and gastronomic itineraries: there are various and numerous possibilities for leisure. To mention just a few of the castles that can be visited nearby: Rivalta, Paderna, Grazzano Visconti, Castell'Arquato and Vigoleno. Within a short distance you will find the Croara Golf Club and numerous other equestrian centers.

You will be welcomed with simple familiarity and receive valuable suggestions to fully appreciate all the secrets and riches of our land.

You will find exclusively homemade products with carefully sourced local raw materials.

Cakes, biscuits, homemade bread, yogurt, jams of our own production and seasonal fruit. Numerous varieties of teas and infusions are available.

Upon request, we prepare savory, vegetarian or vegan and gluten-free breakfasts.

During the summer, breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace surrounded by greenery, to fully regenerate with the morning coolness.

We come from Salento and Monferrato. We are two young people who met and fell in love in Emilia.

We have chosen to live in the Piacentini Hills, in Val Trebbia, according to Hemingway "the most beautiful valley in the world", an area rich in charm, history, nature and food and wine excellence that we will be happy to let you discover and appreciate.

There is also a true Piacenza native, our hound dog Sissi, who will win you over with her sweet eyes and big velvet ears.

A place where you can feel good, in close contact with nature and in complete silence. Abundant, varied, and meticulously prepared breakfast, but above all genuine, prepared directly by the homeowners. Here, the homeowners are exceptional. Matteo and Donatella make the stay wonderful: they envelop you with delicate, present, non-intrusive care. I returned on Sunday and have already recommended this place to three friends, because it's a stay where I myself want to return.

Very spacious, quiet room, equipped with every comfort and a beautiful view over the garden and the valley. The young, dynamic, very kind managers are well-prepared with advice and tour routes in the surrounding areas. The structure has great charm with a delightful English garden. The abundant breakfast (with locally produced products expertly prepared in-house) on the terrace overlooking the hills and garden is worth the stay on its own. A perfect place to regenerate and be in harmony with nature. We will be back soon.

Beautiful and very special place to stay for a few days. Beautiful room with comfortable bed and bathroom. Lovely garden with their own fruit and vegetables. The breakfast is Italian style (sweet), but plentiful and delicious, home-made jams, delicious home-baked cakes, fruit and yoghurt. The hosts are wonderful, friendly and helpful, making suggestions for things to see in the area. There are also a number of very good - and cheap - restaurants in the surrounding area.

Beautiful property, very well maintained and nicely furnished. Despite the scorching heat, there was a pleasant coolness inside, not thanks to the air conditioning but simply due to the wide walls. The host, Grazia, was of a genuine kindness and availability, and then the super breakfast with all homemade products was truly special. Excellent indeed, I highly recommend it!

We stayed at the B&B Torre dei Magnani for a weekend coinciding with the Christmas markets in Grazzano Visconti and we had a great time. The structure, immersed in greenery even in winter, has its charm. Cozy rooms with a stunning stone wall, abundant and tasty breakfast served in a "cave" all in stone of rare beauty. And finally, Mrs. Grazia was very helpful in recommending places of interest and gastronomic itineraries, for which the markets took a back seat. Thank you for everything, our desire is to return in spring to appreciate the place in full bloom.

Of this family-run B&B, converted from a medieval watchtower, the photos of the rooms immediately captivated me. As I was planning a tour to discover the Piacenza area combining moments of relaxation with my partner, tourism, and gastronomic discoveries, the solution seemed very interesting to me right away. We were not disappointed! The property is close to Bobbio and Grazzano Visconti, to other castles and villages along the Trebbia River of which the landlady spoke highly of the landscapes. A delightful garden discreetly watched over by two friendly and sociable cats. The Teodolinda room is spacious, very well-furnished, with a small but functional en-suite bathroom complete with top-quality linen (even the bathrobe) and also the kitchen. Comfortable bed and everything very clean. The pellet stove did its job (it turns on by itself at 6.00 am, expect some noise). Breakfast in a room in the base of the watchtower (but if the season allows, there is plenty of space for outdoor breakfast), all prepared by hand by the landlady with natural products and great attention to ingredients and not exceeding with sugars. I emphasize the extreme kindness of the landlady both for the surprise floral extra that I had her prepare and for having gone out of her way with us in the search for a restaurant/agritourism both for Saturday evening and for Sunday lunch! We will definitely return!

What a stroke of luck to have met her on our way! It smells of roses, jasmine, and broom. It is reserved, yet convenient to go anywhere in Valtrebbia. Details cared for with love, delightful cats, and a smiling and chatty hostess who prepares bread with sourdough and other delights. The tower has walls of stone more than a meter thick that ensure sleeping in natural coolness even in summer. Truly pleasant.

Excellent welcome from the owner. Double room with a single bed for a child with wall frescoes heated. Authentic environments being a medieval watchtower. They have been renovated maintaining the authenticity of the environments especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast was exclusively with special products prepared by the owner with organic and genuine foods. Juices, jams, bread, brioches, cakes. All delicious! We will have a nice memory thanks. We stayed in the Teodolinda room, with a vaulted ceiling and historic frescoes. The room, cared for in every aspect and tiny details, is fabulous. The owner is wonderfully helpful. The breakfast with local and organic products allows guests to taste uncommon cakes and products. Also excellent is the fruit offer at breakfast, both as a fruit salad and in juice.

We stayed for one night on our way back home. We were warmly welcomed by Grazia and she phoned restaurants for dinner for us, as we don't speak Italian. Although she doesn't speak English as fluently as she speaks Italian, Spanish, and French, communication worked very well by using English and our little knowledge of Italian and French. Unfortunately, we can't say anything about the landscape, as it was raining and the sight was very bad. But we would come back for the breakfast anyhow. It was really amazing with homemade bread, cakes, and jam.

Ho soggiornato con la mia compagna qualche giorno in questa struttura e siamo stati benissimo. Posizione panoramica, pace assoluta, edificio curato e pulizia nella camera con ingresso sul giardino. Inoltre l'accoglienza di Grazia, della figlia e del marito ci hanno fatto sentire subito a nostro agio, come a casa. Da menzionare sicuramente le colazioni abbondanti con torte fatte in casa con prodotti a chilometri zero. Torneremo sicuramente!

Posto fantastico. La proprietaria Grazia e i suoi fantastici nipotini rendono accogliente e speciale il soggiorno. Cercavo un posto dove stare in pace e ritrovare me stessa. Ho trovato il posto giusto. Tornerò presto. Consiglio a tutti coloro che amano la natura e il verde.

Un vero angolo di pace, bellissimo giardino dove rilassarsi. Colazione super con prodotti fatti in casa dalla proprietaria, accoglienza calorosa e camera graziosa e soprattutto silenziosissima. Cabina doccia migliorabile. Per il resto tutto ok.

La struttura é un pò fuori mano, ma per gli amanti della natura e del trekking é l'ideale. La titolare é cortese e gentile. Entrando si ha l'impressione di essere ospite di una cara amica. Da provare.

Charming location and lovely room. The host is really really nice, she makes you feel at home (or even better). The breakfast was simply amazing! Home made cakes, bread and jam in a terrace looking at the garden! Try the apricot jam, my favorite! I definitely recommend it!

Una bellissima struttura, bella la stanza e belli gli spazi comuni. La sua posizione è ottimale per raggiungere Bobbio e Grazzano Visconti, e i vari castelli della zona. Buona la colazione e ottime le marmellate della Signora Grazia, peraltro gentilissima e disponibile per ogni evenienza. Lo consiglio.

Struttura curata in tutto, sia gli interni che l'esterno, con un bel giardino; posizione molto tranquilla e vista sulle colline piacentine. Ideale per chi vuole passare qualche giorno in tranquillità, lontano dal caos della città. Proprietari molto cordiali e al tempo stesso non invadenti. Molto buona anche la colazione, preparata interamente dalla proprietaria della struttura (torte, marmellate, succhi, biscotti). Consiglio assolutamente.

Posto molto bello, atmosfera accogliente e rilassante, casa molto bella con camere arredate con gusto e con tutto il necessario, colazione ottima con prodotti fatti in casa e molto particolari, giardino gradevole e gestori cordialissimi e assai gradevoli. Sicuramente da consigliare e da ritornarci.

My husband, my 8 months old daughter, my mother and I stayed in Torre dei Magnani for three nights in early July. We were warmly welcomed by the owner Grazia and her family (Noemi, Matilde, Edo, Giuggiola the dog, Ettore the cat) Grazia was very helpful an immediately made us feel as we were part of a small community. She helped us with our baby and made a cot and high chair available. The building is just stunning, with old, thick stone walls, wooden shutters, a pleasant garden and cozy furniture. All the rooms have hand-painted wall decorations and show an exceptional attention to details. Grazia kindly gave us indications about what to do in the area - there is plenty to keep you busy with! Her breakfasts were so scrumptious! She makes and bakes most of the food herself- home made jams and marmalades, cakes, cookies, fruit juices, bread etc. on display. Definitely way above any average B&B I have been to. It could not be any fresher or tastier. While we were there, she picked some cranberries from the bush in the garden and made a cranberry cheesecake for the morning after. Gluten free options are also available, as well as a savory alternative (cured ham, eggs or cheese). All in all, we had a great stay and cannot recommend Torre dei Magnani enough‎.

Abbiamo pernottato con la mia famiglia la notte di Capodanno, il posto è bellissimo ed accogliente. Tutto è preparato con gusto e semplicità, dall'arredamento delle stanze alla colazione, all'insegna della riscoperta dei prodotti del territorio e della tradizione.
