Restaurant
Nestled among the soft, green hills of Val Chiavenna, you can discover a true marvel of elegance and craftsmanship: the Torretta Restaurant.
Also known as "Da Mauro" Restaurant, this place tells a story rich in tradition. In the past, it was a trattoria that offered a variety of dishes and was a point of reference for the local residents and passing travelers.
The credit and determination to give this ancient structure a new style and concept belong to its owner, Giovanni, better known as Mauro. In 1981, he and his family purchased this property and embarked on a journey that made this establishment one of the most appreciated in the province. After a complete restoration, the restaurant opened its doors in 1983. The venue features two spacious dining rooms, a beautiful terrace with a veranda overlooking the hill, and, of course, a well-equipped kitchen where Innocenta, Mauro's wife, along with their son Michele and daughter-in-law Mara, dedicate themselves to the preparation of artisan delicacies and traditional dishes from Piacenza.
Among the specialties offered, you can delight your palate with the famous "tortelli a due code" filled with ricotta and spinach, wild boar with polenta during the season, oven-baked stuffed veal tip, and, to end on a high note, semifreddo with nougat or almond tart. Additionally, there will be dishes featuring fresh mushrooms to satisfy your taste.

Group of friends on a trip, even though in the same province! B&B Tina was chosen for its location as it is close to the starting point of an 8 km walk. Excellent reception, the check-in was handled calmly. The apartment (one double room + one triple room + 2 bathrooms + entrance/living room) is cozy and clean. The double bed was really comfortable. Despite the lack of air conditioning, the apartment remains cool and we did not suffer from the heat. The bar below the structure is a bit noisy or rather the customers are, so the wake-up is early in the morning. But in general, nothing negative to report.

Locality immersed in the agricultural fields where tranquility is certainly not lacking (at night we slept with the windows open because there were no cars passing by on the road). The owner, very kind, is also the owner of the restaurant on the other side of the street 'B&B Tina' where we always ate very well. We come from the province of Udine (almost 4 hours drive) just to eat their excellent homemade Piacenza cold cuts and tortelli (very thin pasta that melts in your mouth). My family and I can't wait to come back. For those who love visiting historical places, I recommend Castel Arquato, the Roman ruins of Veleia (2 euro entrance fee) and half an hour away the Fairy Tale Park and the Gropparello Castle (I recommend visiting the website to book the visit on weekends as visits are limited due to being a private residence). Bring your bikes if you love two wheels, the hills create lightly trafficked roads with many fun twists and turns.

It's the second time we stay at this B&B Tina and we decided to return there precisely for the availability and kindness of the owners, for the cleanliness and comfort of the structure and for the wonderful view that can be enjoyed from the room windows. The double rooms are spacious, quiet, and have newly renovated bathrooms (with bathtub and shower) that are very comfortable. After days spent visiting castles, we would stop for dinner at the La Torretta restaurant, in front of the B&B Tina (owned by the same owners). A perfect mini vacation. Highly recommended!
