Description
Located in a quiet green area on the outskirts of the town (in the locality of Praticello, in the municipality of Gattatico), the B&B "Il Portico" is situated in a completely renovated farmhouse that maintains the original rural style of the Emilian countryside, while also providing all the necessary comforts for a relaxing stay. The strategic location of the B&B allows for easy access to Parma and Reggio Emilia, as well as the nearby natural areas of the Po River basin and the Enza stream, and the Matilda and Parmesan hills. The nearby Parma and Reggio Emilia Fairs are also easily accessible, thanks to the nearby "Campegine - Terre di Canossa" motorway exit.
The interiors - The residence, surrounded by a vegetable garden, orchard, and large garden, has recently been renovated, preserving the characteristic elements of rural houses (exposed bricks, wooden beams) while also updating all the technological systems to maximize the building's energy efficiency. To minimize energy consumption, the entire structure uses high-efficiency LED lights both internally and externally, has good insulation, and is equipped with a photovoltaic and solar thermal system on the roof.
The rooms - The 3 rooms available to guests, recently created, are each decorated and furnished according to a particular theme, expressed by the name of the room. The sizes range from 20 square meters for the "Ninfea" and "Glicine" rooms to 23 square meters for the "Tulipano" room. All the rooms, located on the first floor in an exclusive and private area of the property, have a large window with a view of the garden, air conditioning/heating, and are furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, a desk, an additional sofa/bed, chairs, a 32' LCD TV, and a safe. The bathroom in each room has a window and is equipped with a hairdryer, a hydro-massage shower, and a courtesy set. Free Wi-Fi internet connection is also available in all the rooms, as well as ample reserved parking.

Even though it was just one night, we had a very good stay with my husband and our two kids. Clean and quiet, the room was heated and the breakfast very good. Mrs. Ilaria is truly very kind. If we need to have another weekend getaway, I won't look elsewhere, everything is ok here.
