Bologna nel Cuore is a small and refined Bed and Breakfast located in a historical context in the heart of the city, just a few minutes' walk from Piazza Maggiore.
It is the perfect solution for locals who want to make their guests feel at home.
It is also an excellent accommodation for those in Bologna for business, conferences, or other work-related occasions.
The location is ideal for those who want to dedicate a vacation to getting to know this splendid city, rich in historical-artistic, musical, and gastronomic culture.
The owner, Maria Ketty, personally oversaw the renovation of the B&B and apartments, paying special attention to details.
The structure includes:
- A large double room called Toledo, named after the double bed designed by architect Tobia Scarpa. The room has a private bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and the possibility of adding a crib for a child up to 4 years old. Breakfast is served exclusively for guests of this room.
- An apartment called Topazio consisting of a living room with a large sofa that converts into a comfortable double bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom that can be either twin or double, and a large bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is self-managed.
- An apartment called Rubino consisting of a living room with a large sofa that converts into a comfortable double bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is self-managed.
Each apartment can accommodate up to 4 people and is the ideal solution for families, couples, or those who need to stay in Bologna for extended periods.
Bologna nel Cuore has been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the years 2012 through 2022.
The structure offers the following services: free wifi internet connection, air conditioning, terrestrial digital LCD TV, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, laundry service (for a fee), washing machine, clothesline, and iron in the apartments.
Upon request, the structure can also provide reservations for museums and visits to the historic center, restaurant reservations, and luggage storage.

My name is Maria Ketty and by 18 years with passion I'm running the B&B Bologna nel Cuore. I was born in a Dolomites little town, but I'm living in Bologna since I was 8. I learnt to deeply know and appreciate this city and is from the passion and the love for it, that born the idea to open my apartment to the world, to offer a fresh hospitality.
My simple and straightforward welcome is made by availability, familiar friendliness and a loving care to each guest, in the maximum privacy respect.
In these years I had the pleasure to receive and enjoy the company of people coming from different places, different in culture and age, and I always took care of them for their "comfort". I love do that. Every time come up new relationships, new memories and it's nice to know that a fragment of me is traveling in the heart of who passed through: Bologna nel Cuore! No one easily forget an happy moment.
18 years from the birth of Bologna nel Cuore, I love to receive guests with the usual warmth and with the same willing to offer them precious ideas to venture in the discovery of Bologna.

Bologna nel cuore is located in the historical center of the city, at 5-minute walking from Piazza Maggiore and the two Towers.
Nearby are the stops of the main means of public transportations which connect the center to all areas of the city and its surroundings.
Access by car to the restricted traffic area is permitted by communicating the vehicle number plate from the B&B to the urban mobility office. A covered parking space is also available at the price of 20 € per day. For more detailed information regarding access by car, contact us.
The central station can be reached in 10 minutes by bus no. 25 which stops in Via Ugo Bassi 5 minutes from the B&B.
The trade fair district can be easily reached by bus no. 28 which stops in Via Ugo Bassi.
From the airport, the B&B can be easily reached by taxi at a rate between 20 € and 25 €, or by the monorail Marconi Express for 8 € per person The Marconi Express reach in a few minutes the Central Station. From there you can reach the B&B in 20 minutes by walking or in 10 minutes by bus n. 25 which stops in Via Ugo Bassi, a 5-minute walk from the B&B Bologna nel Cuore. We stayed for 5 nights and we were delighted with our choice. Maria is a wonderful host, very eager to accommodate our needs. The apartment was charming, absolutely spotless, with all the amenities one would need. The location is ideal, at a short walkable distance to the main attractions and yet in a calm environment. The breakfasts were colorful and plentiful. B&B Bologna Nel Cuore really lives up to its name and we highly recommend it, without hesitation. Thank you very much Maria!

Maria was warm and welcoming and happy to help. The property is lovely and well located close to the historic center but away from any noise. Breakfast was delicious. Our room was comfortable and pleasant. The whole property was spotlessly clean and well presented. We would highly recommend.

The manager, Mrs. Ketty, is extremely kind and helpful, making you feel at home. The rooms are very clean, breakfast is exceptional, and the location is strategic, close to the city center in a very peaceful area. My friend and I had a great time here; I will definitely come back when I return to Bologna.

WOW! B&B Bologna nel Cuore scores a perfect 10 in all categories! We were so pleased with our stay at this lovely B&B. Our room and bathroom were spotless. The homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious with the BEST eggs we have ever tasted. The variety of homemade jams, spectacular fresh fruits, meats and cheeses, yogurts, and cappuccini were of top quality. The location was perfect, an easy walk to the city center with all its attractions. And I am saving the best for last. Maria Ketty was the most charming hostess anyone could ever want. She made us feel very welcome into her lovely home. She is very knowledgeable, and obviously very proud of her amazing city. We highly recommend Bologna nel Cuore to anyone who visits this very lively, interesting, historical city. You will be very pleased with your stay, and you may not want to leave!

The apartment was presented beautifully and although small it was very well laid out and planned. Maria was a lovely hostess and made lots of suggestions for restaurants, she made reservations on our behalf and gave advice on place to see and helpful tips.

Das definitiv beste Appartement, das wir je hatten! Mitten in der City (4-5 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Piazza Maggiore) in einem schönen Wohnhaus mit Innenhof. Wir hatten das App. Rubino gemietet, das eine kleine Küche zur Selbstversorgung hat. Absolut ruhige Lage, auch nachts!
Das Bad auf dem neuesten Stand, man vermisst nichts! Die ganze Wohnung ist mit Liebe und Verstand eingerichtet und ausgestattet. Das gilt auch - und vor allem - für die Küche.
Der Kühlschrank war mit vorbestellten Sachen gefüllt. Maria hat uns mit guten Tipps für unseren Urlaub versorgt, absolute Spitzenklasse!
Wenn wir mal wieder kommen, dann wohnen wir auf jeden Fall hier!

The Steam House is a wonderful little B&B in the heart of the city - so easy to get to all the sights, as well as the train station.
The room was huge, bright, great funky interior. There is also a little breakfast table in the room. The lovely host, Valentina, provides a simple but perfect breakfast of bread, meat, cheese, cereal, fruit and yogurt. There is also a coffee machine and kettle. It’s great to have a private breakfast with the windows open which flood the room with sunlight.
Valentina is very helpful and on WhatsApp to answer any questions or help.
Great place and will definitely return.

Innanzitutto bellissima Bologna. Struttura centrale in un palazzo antico con portico interno, molto bella ed arredata con gusto. Stanze comode e molto pulite.
Il gestore signora Ketty, cordialissima e disponibilissima.
Sicuramente tornerei in questa struttura.

Wonderful B&B, Marie the host was lovely and very helpful- booking us tables at local restaurant. B&B is in the great location- close enough to the centre (about a 5 minute walk) but far enough to be away from all the noise. Breakfast was always very nice. The room itself was charming, mixing modern and classic designs. It was well appointed and lots of space. Would not hesitate to stay here again, should we visit Bologna.

Già la fine del 2013 ci aveva visto ospiti di Bologna Nel Cuore (Appartamento Topazio) ed eravamo rimasti colpiti dall'accoglienza e dalla struttura: ma qualcosa era mancato.
Era mancata la conoscenza vera con la signora Maria Ketty che ci aveva lasciato "padroni" assoluti per potersi godere la fine del 2013 nei luoghi cari alla sua infanzia.
Una perdita assoluta che andava recuperata ad ogni costo.
Complice il lungo fine settimana della festività dell'Immacolata, Bologna ci ha rivisto di nuovo per le sue strade e lungo i suoi portici.
Ospiti del B&B (Camera Toledo), la signora Maria Ketty ci ha aperto le porte della sua casa colmando subito quel vuoto che ci portavamo dentro dal primo soggiorno.
La tranquilla serenità, l'armonia, la gioia di scambiare idee che vivono in Bologna Nel Cuore rendono il momento della vacanza una vera e propria esperienza da dover ripetere assolutamente.
La colazione al mattino è sublime con le torte (lo strudel fantastico), le marmellate (quella di arance è da urlo) della signora Maria Ketty: si va dal dolce al salato, dalla frutta fresca al caffè caldo (ottima miscela), dai biscotti ai cornetti ripieni di crema freschissimi. Non manca nulla.
La signora Maria Ketty è una padrona di casa esemplare e poter carpire attimi della sua amicizia è davvero molto bello.
Tutto questo fa di Bologna Nel Cuore un posto prezioso di quella città così allegra, sorridente, viva, seriamente goliardica che è Bologna.
Si ritorna a casa con la voglia di poterci ritornare al più presto, senza dimenticare di portare in valigia i preziosi tortellini de Le Sfogline (!) giusto per alleviare il distacco da giorni trascorsi così bene.

Abbiamo soggiornato nell'appartamento topazio situato al piano terra, pulitissimo e fornito di tutti i confort. ottima la colazione, gentilissimi e disponibilissimi i proprietari. Cosa importante la sua ubicazione: vicinissimo ai principali punti di interesse turistici ma lontano dai rumori della strada.
