I had a very pleasant stay at B&B Borgonuovo. The location is very central but quiet, since the rooms face the inner courtyard, sheltered from any noise from the street. The property is not brand new, but if you do not have high expectations in terms of design or modernity, it is more than fine. The host is very helpful and kind. If I were to find myself in Bologna again, I would definitely stay there again!

I am sorry to have to write this review, but the property disappointed me a lot. Nothing to say about the location, which is truly excellent, as well as the owner, who was nonetheless helpful toward us. However, the property was absolutely not up to expectations, especially regarding cleanliness, despite the owner having been warned by me that I cared about it particularly (we were three families!). In addition, the toilet seat was broken, there were practically no power outlets, the space was decidedly impractical, and the room had a really musty smell. I recommend that you address these issues, because it would really be worth it given the great location of the property.

Excessive humidity, a very uncomfortable bed and a scent diffuser that filled the room with a nauseating smell. Despite the excellent location, at that price it is unacceptable not to be able to sleep because of the humidity and the odor.

Very comfortable attic, kindness of the owners, cleanliness of the premises. A little far from the historic center, but the nearby area is well served by public transport, venues, bars for a good breakfast, supermarkets and grocery stores.

I stayed with my wife for two nights during Cersaie in a single room. Although it was specified that the single room has a one-and-a-half bed, the owner reiterated this several times, fearing we might not be comfortable. In conversation, I then understood why: unfortunately some people make the most varied criticisms after staying in order to 'extort' discounts or refunds and it is also for this reason that I decided to leave a review, although it is not my habit. The guesthouse in question is a nice place; the rooms are simply furnished, but clean and pleasant. The location is excellent, the owner is very kind and the price is really fair, if not low, considering this is a property in the historic center of a rather expensive city like Bologna. A really positive stay.

Unexpected surprise! A small but very charming B&B in the heart of Bologna's historic center. Perfect for someone like me who does not like to take public transport or walk a lot: the location is excellent, practically beneath the Two Towers. We were able to visit the historic center and rest peacefully, because the rooms face an inner garden and you cannot hear the street at all. The owner is very kind and always available for any need; she gave us directions from the station and even kept our luggage in the room well beyond check-out time. Clean room, hairdryer and bed linen provided and a quiet place. Main strength: the location, right in the historic center. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately our experience was not among the best. The only positive aspect was the location. For two people we were provided with a one-and-a-half-size bed, there is no refrigerator and the small room is completely affected by heavy humidity (see photos), which we did not notice at first because the room had just been cleaned. Long stays are strongly discouraged unless the problem is resolved. We expected a refund, which was not offered.

The structure is very central and this is definitely the strong point. In my case, cleanliness was completely lacking. The bed had hair on the sheets and a pungent smell of cigarette smoke, masked by an air freshener, made the air in the room stinky. The "bed mat" was obviously dirty. The bathroom was clean but in decidedly precarious conditions: the shower faucet was broken and before I managed to get the water to flow, I had to reposition it a couple of times because when I tried to operate it, it would come off. Additionally, there was a very noisy neighbor in the next room who talked on the phone with a loud voice during the night, making rest difficult. If it had been a longer stay, I would have changed accommodations from the first day. Too bad because it is a potentially very nice place in a strategic point of the city.

Very central, so great for a weekend if you want to stroll around the center, but the room was very humid (water damage), little ventilation, no fan, so it's hard to sleep well.

Central and welcoming place, a long corridor separates it from the street, making it safe, and the view of the internal courtyard gives it a nice atmosphere. Well-furnished and cute room. In the shower, a hook to hold the showerhead up would be useful.

Very close to the center. Room with an old bed and a broken leg, so they put bricks under it to support it (they say it broke during cleaning before arrival). Shower a bit broken but usable. Everything else is fine, quiet and peaceful area.

A fantastic location to get to know Bologna. And yet beautifully situated in a quiet area.

The edges of the shower tray, in the less visible areas, were black with dirty limescale. The walls, both tiles and glass, were porous and did not allow the disinfectant liquid I applied to penetrate. I had to ask for shampoo, liquid soap, and coffee capsules. There was no toothbrush holder. The rugs in the bathroom and the room seemed dirty to me. The coffee machine was not working, and the kettle was unusable because it was scaled and dirty. The heating was on 24/7, and to breathe, I had to keep the window ajar.

I stayed in this accommodation for the Cosmoprof and I felt very good. The location is fantastic. The rooms are simple but new and very clean. The price is low considering the fair period. The owner Arianna is a very kind person and really willing to help. I recommend it.

Arianna is a very kind and helpful person. The room is worth what you spend: it needs some adjustments, at times there is really little privacy due to the presence of other people in the adjacent room, but it is comfortable if you are out all day to visit the city.

Simple bed and breakfast in the heart of Bologna. I had a ground floor room overlooking the inner courtyard. Ideal for me as a cycling traveler. Quite shady in the inner courtyard. In summer, it will surely be very pleasant. Very friendly and accommodating owner. Checking in late was not a problem.

I stayed at the 'Affittacamere Borgonuovo' to assist my husband who underwent surgery at a nearby hospital. I had a great experience. Excellent location, kind host, and affordable prices. I recommend.

Good location. The room is quite humid and has only the basics. Host was nice but we never met them. Payment only cash a bit hard to organize since host wasn’t there at arrival nor departure. All in all a decent stay if you’re looking for the minimum and just want to be outside discovering the city.

The manager, a lady, was very kind and helpful, even on the price. Unfortunately, the structure, although clean, is dilapidated and abandoned, the walls show dampness, old furniture, and a lot of unnecessary furniture. I couldn't use the coffee machine because there were no pods, the towels were clean but already worn out. The entrance is not comfortable.

The B&B Affittacamere Borgonuovo is a simple and practical solution to stay in the center of Bologna. It is easily reachable on foot from the station and very convenient for the area. It is located near an area with restaurants, supermarkets, and bars; however, the apartment is in a quiet area.

Mrs. Arianna was kind and helpful. The structure is located in the historic center and on the ground floor. There were many positive aspects. Unfortunately, the double bed was uncomfortable as it was made up of two single mattresses. Additionally, there were ants above the bed and a closed door that divided another room, from which everything could be heard; it felt like we were all together. The duvet was stained and the towels were old, stained, and all different. I cannot recommend this structure.

The 1883 building in the center of Bologna in the historic city center, close to the towers and the Galleria Cavour shopping center. Wide choice of restaurants, piadinerie, and snack bars nearby. The structure is well organized, Arianna is very kind, helpful, courteous, and always reachable by phone and/or via WhatsApp. Check-in is also possible until 9pm/10pm, just arrange it with Mrs. Arianna. From the train station, take bus 30, get off at Via Farini and in 10 minutes walk you arrive at Via Borgonuovo 9. From Piazza Minghetti, you return to Bologna Centrale station. If you need to reach the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute (as in my case), for the outbound journey you can always take bus 30 from Piazza Minghetti and get off at the IOR square. For the return, you always take bus 30 from the IOR square and get off at Via Farini. The daily room rate is excellent. The rooms are vintage but clean, comfortable, and quiet, located in the palace courtyard. It is advisable to book in advance due to the highly requested location of the structure. PAM and COOP shops are close to Via Borgonuovo 9. I highly recommend the structure for its location, the hospitality of Mrs. Arianna, and the tranquility of the place. An "island" of peace in the heart of Bologna. I will certainly return.

I stayed at this property and really appreciated the setting. Excellent location as it is right in the city center, but inside an ancient building where one can immerse themselves in a pure relaxation atmosphere. Simple yet clean rooms. Silence and tranquility. Very helpful host. Prices are very reasonable compared to similar structures in the city.

Arianna's place is perfect for a stay in Bologna. The location is really great. It's literally a 5-minute walk to the bus station but it's also very central. To be honest, I barely used public transportation because it is always convenient to just walk but when I needed to, it was right there. There are lots of restaurants and life around but in the place itself, it's completely quiet. Arriana's place is very clean and comfortable and has everything you could need. The owner, she is very kind and very helpful, the rooms are located inside a small internal courtyard and are welcoming and quiet. Excellent quality/price ratio. I would 100% recommend a stay here.

I have been several times in this establishment, which is very central, and even though you are immersed in the beautiful Bologna you are at the same time in a quiet area. The rooms that have been assigned to me each time have always been clean and tidy, with an en-suite bathroom. The window overlooks an inner courtyard, rich in greenery, and the owner has always been very kind and helpful, in fact she even allowed me to check out after the scheduled time once. This is a place that I recommend to everyone for a comfortable visit to Bologna.

Great location near Santo Stefano. Very quiet. Beautiful condominium in a historic building. Rooms with independent entrance. Only flaw pillows, sheets, and blankets of low quality, but comfortable bed.

The room is nice, clean, the bathroom is internal/private. Arianna, the host, was kind and helpful and allowed us good flexibility in leaving our luggage for the necessary time. The first impression was positive. The location is great because it's close to the center, and it's also a quiet area (the distance from the station is about 25 minutes on foot). It wasn't necessary to pay before arrival. Immediate responses from the host. However, let's move on to the negative points that unfortunately I cannot overlook: - the soundproofing of the rooms, because you can hear every slight noise, even the most embarrassing and private... if you happen to have noisy and careless 'neighboring guests', as well as those who are not very attentive to modesty, you will be very embarrassed and with few hours of sleep; imagine a red light movie, you will only miss the video but you can enjoy the audio... In the room, something you won't see in the photos, there is a locked door that connects to the neighbors' room. The lock of that door seems to have been closed with toilet paper. - The room has a window without a shutter (at least the glass was the type that covers the view) - the room does have the door seen in the photo with 3 working locks from the inside (needs some oil), but also an internal door with a broken handle, fortunately the room is far from the street. - the bathroom has no windows or ventilation points, and if you go to the bathroom with a stomach ache, you will be heard everywhere. Also, the top part of the toilet bowl was partly broken. - I confirm the presence of a bedspread with cigarette burns. - the host had not delivered the key where she had requested, so basically we were in a room where another person might have had access. Positive note on the operation of the hairdryer and TV. Don't miss out on Bologna, a very pleasant city :).

Really great location, just a few steps from a very well-serviced bus line, and between two of the main streets of Bologna, Strada Maggiore and Via Santo Stefano. The rooms are located in the internal courtyard of an ancient building, and therefore overlook a few square meters of greenery, with a small bench, two trees, a few flowers... a lucky feature in the city center. Comfortable, clean room with a queen-size bed, wardrobe, TV, coffee machine available. The small bathroom has a bidet and shower, hairdryer. The owner, Mrs. Arianna, was extremely kind and helpful. The price seemed more than fair to me, especially after staying in other B&Bs in the city center!

The location is great because it's very central, the room was warm and comfortable and equipped with everything essential... I really enjoyed my stay and when I return to Bologna, I will definitely stay there again. Congratulations to the owner, a very kind and helpful person, who made the luggage storage available to me until the time of my train departure.

Perfect structure for our stay in the heart of Bologna. Very central, less than ten minutes walk from Piazza Maggiore, equipped with comforts, with en-suite bathroom, shower, hairdryer, always hot water. We were warm in this cold December 8th bridge, and enjoyed beautiful walks through the historic streets of the city, the typical Santa Lucia fair, one hundred and fifty meters from the structure, the beautiful square and the church of Santo Stefano, as well as, of course, the very close Towers and Piazza Maggiore. Great value for money, courtesy and kindness of the host. We will be back!

Wonderful little room with own bathroom in the center of the city, situated in a courtyard. Very charming and good place for me.

Structure to be improved, lacking the necessary for washing, at least for the first or only night, it needs to be found. For the moment, the location is truly positive.

Everything was perfect, Arianna is a lovely person and always available, she was even too lenient with me. Deserves recognition.

I stayed two times at this charming hidden place as I took a bike ride down to Tuscany. It is an ideal place in the center of Bologna also to store your bike within the small internal courtyard. The check-in was perfect with the help of the phone. I can really recommend this B&B.

I used the structure for only one night and I had a good time. The lady was very helpful and kind. I have confirmed for more overnight stays. Being located in the center, it is easily reachable from the central station (it's about a 25-minute walk but passing through the center is also pleasant for a walk).
