Description
L 'Antico Vinaio is a classic family run B&B located in a large house built in thè 20s by my great-grandfather; after having completely restructured it, trying to keep the original imprint as much as possible, in 2003 I decided to open the business on the wave of wonderful experiences lived in the Anglo-Saxon B & Bs.
One of the first guests who slept here defined the house and its surroundings as an "oasis in the city":
in fact, the road of the B&B is very quiet and the house is surrounded by the green of the garden that laps the stream Savena with its dense vegetation, but just return to the main street, the historic Via Emilia, to "reconnect" with the city and the its main communication routes.
The B&B has:
- a double room with a private bathroom;
- a single room with a private bathroom; (mattress 90x200)
- a suite consisting of: a double room (mattresses 90x200), a single room with a queen bed and a bathroom.
All rooms have TV, air conditioning and are furnished with period furniture.
Breakfast is rich and varied; the homemade cake never fails! On request savory breakfast and breakfast for celiacs. In summer breakfast is served on the terrace.
My wife and I are always present and available and try to satisfy, as far as we can, the needs of our guests
Guests also have private parking and a wifi connection; there are no time problems because the house keys are given. Tourist material is available in Italian, English, French, German and Spanish.
All rooms are non-smoking and pets are not allowed.
The suite can accommodate people with walking difficulties because the room and bathroom spaces are in line with wheelchairs; however, there are seven steps from the garden at the entrance to the house.

The breakfast we offer at Antico Vinaio is based on homemade cakes, biscuits, juices, jams, yogurt, butter, toast, fruit and snacks. On request meats, cheeses and hard-boiled eggs. There is no shortage of coffee, barley coffee, herbal teas, breakfast and green tea, milk and cappuccino. Always on request, breakfast for celiacs.

Already as a young man, while I was attending the University and at the same time I was playing rugby pitches all over Italy, I always cultivated the idea of ??dedicating a large part of my big house to hospitality, in September 2003, after a careful restructuring I opened the B&B Antico Vinaio.
The reasons for why I made this choice are varied but all of them are the wonderful experiences of being a traveler in B & Bs in Great Britain: I understood what it means to open your home to guests and the added value you can receive in terms of knowledge and mutual cultural exchanges.
After so many years of activity, this inspiration is still very strong and I am proud to carry on, with so many difficulties, this philosophy that allows me to dedicate myself with attention and pleasure to the needs of my guests. In all this, my wife Elisa helps me (responsible for the "cakes department" in the B & B) since my passion for rugby is stronger than ever and leads me to absent myself to train my under 14 guys.

The route of the B & B Antico Vinaio is the first of the country arriving from Bologna along the historic Via Emilia. The whole area is very green thanks to the numerous parks and also thanks to the proximity of the hills where there is the "regional park of gypsum bolognesi and the badlands and the Abbadessa" with its many trails suitable for all types of trekking and its famous caves that can be visited thanks to the association of the territory. On the hills it is easy to find excellent restaurants that are not affected by the tourist flow of Bologna. Getting to Bologna is really easy: bus No. 19 is one of the most frequent lines and starts at 5. 30 and ends at 01. 00 and takes to Piazza Maggiore in 20 minutes (the stop is 100 meters from the B & B). The connections to the central station are also convenient with bus No. 101 or the regional train. The B & B is however very close to restaurants and pizzerias that are numerous in the center of the town.

A very nice room (although not very large, but totally adequate), with an attached bathroom. The hosts are charming and welcoming, they live upstairs and offered to sort out any problems, would there have been any. The car can be parked safely in the courtyard. There is a trolley bus going into Bologna about three minutes' walk away, so that one can have a night out without any worries.

Beautiful house from the 20s preserved and enhanced to the fullest, spacious family room with two connected rooms through a small corridor to the bathroom. We had a very pleasant stay at B&B Antico Vinaio. The room was clean, spacious, and with a private bathroom. Both hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. Right in front of the B&B there is a bus stop that takes you to the city center in 20-30 minutes. Thank you for everything!

Located in a central area, the building has its charm due to the typical architectural style of the early 1900s. Convenient location as you can leave the car in the inner courtyard and move around on foot. Very kind and friendly the wife of Mr. Nicola, who prepared delicious cakes for breakfast.

I adored its retro atmosphere with its antique furniture, it reminded me of my grandmother's house. Clean, the lady prepared a delicious chocolate cake for breakfast. A bit far from the center but with buses 15 and 19 in 20 minutes you are at the station and with 25 you are in the city center. Recommended for those like me who come to visit Bologna. Very quiet area.

Beautiful ancient house surrounded by a lovely garden, antique furniture, spacious room and above all very quiet. Located in a very reserved area although 100 meters from Via Emilia. Very kind owners. Good breakfast and very good homemade cakes, especially the ricotta one.

Great stay, I had a great time. The manager is very kind and friendly and the property is convenient for the proximity of the bus, which takes you quickly to the center of Bologna and to the station. You can have a sweet or savory breakfast and a very good cappuccino. Recommended for both business trips to San Lazzaro and for visiting Bologna.

We stayed just one night, my family and I. We were welcomed by Nicola who made us feel at home, very helpful and kind. Slept well, clean rooms and very abundant breakfast, the manager was available to accommodate every request. Worth trying.

The B&B Antico Vinaio where everything is superb. The owner is very kind, the breakfast is very good with delicious cakes. Beautiful location, a structure that has its own charm immersed in greenery and is very well connected to the center of Bologna by public transport. Excellent value for money. A strategic B&B to consider if you need to stay in the Bologna area.

Truly a pleasant discovery. The B&B Antico Vinaio is easy to reach, welcoming, well-organized, and clean. The hosts are very kind and helpful. Mrs. Elisa's cake is excellent. Perhaps the only flaw is the lack of wifi, but it doesn't detract from the high quality of the structure. And frankly, one can do without it. I will definitely come back.

Mi sono trovata benissimo, il Gestore Nicola è davvero una persona gentile e disponibile.
L'atmosfera familiare è proprio quello che ci si aspetta in un bed and breakfast.

Il B&B di Nicola è un posto caldo ed accogliente. Ottima e abbondante la colazione e le camere che sono pulitissime. Il centro di Bologna si raggiunge in pochi minuti grazie al bus che passa praticamente sotto la struttura. È un'esperienza che consiglio di cuore a tutti. Grazie per i bei momenti che ci avete fatto passare.

Il B&B si trova in bella palazzina antica, ristrutturata con gusto e rispetto dello stile originario; immersa nel verde del grande giardino, che arriva fino al fiume Savena, è una vera oasi di tranquillità ed armonia. A cinque minuti c'è la fermata degli autobus che portano in centro ed alla stazione ferroviaria.
L'interno è arredato con molto gusto e sensibilità, nessun dettaglio è trascurato: le candele accese per colazione, le castagne sparse sul bellissimo bancone da bar, le alzate in vetro, le tazzine in porcellana d'epoca. Belli gli armadi antichi, accogliente il profumo delle lenzuola in lino, fantastico il bollitore in camera per le tisane, buonissime ed abbondanti le colazioni.
L'ambiente è piacevole ed accogliente, molto familiare e quasi casalingo; i particolari raffinati aggiungono all'atmosfera un'eleganza sobria e pura, come quella delle cose autenticamente belle.
Il proprietario Nicola è una persona squisita, sempre sorridente e gentile, affabile e cordiale, disponibile e paziente, anche in caso di imprevisti.
